Fish Tacos with Crispy Cheese, Lettuce, Pico de Gallo, Sour Cream, Chipotle Sauce, Tomatillo Sauce, and Topped with Cotija Cheese
    Mike L.

You know, if you told me there was a taco truck that posts up at a gas station in the Outer Sunset that serves up some delicious birria tacos, I'd first ask where it is followed by where or not you were serious. Because, as intrigued and excited as I'd certainly be, I'd definitely be skeptical of something that sounds too good to be true! Don't get me wrong - I love the Sunset and all, but such a gem of a truck sounds like something you'd be more likely to find in the Mission or Bernal Heights than on this side of town! Little did I know...it's true! Parked in a spot on the edge of the 76 gas station on Lawton (and not even on the Lawton side at that), Corazon Mexicano can easily go unnoticed if you aren't looking for them. However, as easily as this place flies under the radar, the food this place puts out is worth taking note of. Along with the birria tacos that drew me here, there are a lot of other appealing options available as well, including burritos, Cali burritos, burrito bowls, tacos, street tacos, nachos, asada fries, quesadillas, quesabirria, tortas, and even churros! In short, a whole lot of interesting things worth trying! -- BIRRIA COMBO TACOS (2) with Melted Cheese, Onion, Cilantro, Tomatillo Sauce, Radish, and a side of Lemon Birria Broth...$13 Although it didn't look as good as how it did in some of the photos, this still tasted awesome! The meat was both tender and flavorful and the melted cheese complemented everything. I do wish the taco had been crispier, but that it steamed during the car ride had a lot to do with that. -- FISH TACOS (2) with Crispy Cheese, Lettuce, Pico de Gallo, Sour Cream, Chipotle Sauce, Tomatillo Sauce, and Topped with Cotija Cheese...$14 More solid than spectacular, but good nonetheless. The fish in both tacos were great and each one was topped with a ton of condiments. I especially liked how well everything blended together (especially the sauces), but I just wish were battered and fried. Regardless, I'd still get this again. -- CHICKEN STREET TACO with Onions and Cilantro...$3 Ehh. This was fine for what it is, but I can't say it was all that interesting. The tortilla was good and the taco was decently loaded, but the chicken didn't have much taste to it and were cut into really small pieces, which likely contributed to why it felt a bit dry. -- PASTOR STREET TACO with Onions and Cilantro...$3 Far better than the chicken. The tortilla was just as good and loaded, but the pastor was so much better. Not sure if it's just because it was marinated, but the pork was juicy, not too acidic/tart, and had a nice bit of sweetness to it. -- CARNE ASADA SUPER BURRITO with Rice, Beans, Cheese, Pico de Gallo, Lettuce, Sour Cream, and Tomatillo Sauce...$13 Not quite as good as my favorites, but still pretty good. The carne asada was well seasoned, the lettuce and pico added some freshness, and it was really cheesy. That said, they only have pinto beans, the inside wasn't evenly distributed, and the burrito wasn't tightly wrapped. One thing that I found to be a little odd was that even though I was here in the dead of the afternoon both times, it took longer than I would've expected for my food to come out. Not sure if it's because they had to fire up the grill again, but it felt a little slower than other taco trucks I've been to, so it might be something to keep in mind if you are pressed for time. The other thing that I've seen a couple of folks mention is that the prices here are a little on the high side. While I can certainly see their point, like with the fish tacos, the amount of food it came with (and the burrito) is generous, so you are getting a better value in that regard. Even if they are a touch more, though, for what they are, what you get, and the general lack of alternatives around this part of the Sunset, it's worth paying a slight premium to have something as tasty and convenient as Corazon Mexicano around!

Great food, fast snd friendly service, and the ambiance you expect from a food truck! All hail!

This was my first time trying this spot and both items I got to try were with Birria shredded beef. The meat was tender but wasn't as flavorful as I expected it to be and was more like Birria chunks than shredded beef. The burrito bowl was filling and all the ingredients complimented each other well but I wasn't a fan of the lack of flavor from the meat. The burrito was packed with half rice and pretty nice chunks of meat but again I think lacked flavor for the meat. I think I will come back here next time but I'm going to try out their Al pastor or carne asada

Mexican spots can be hit-or-miss in the Sunset, so I was pleasantly surprised by the freshness and flavor of the food from this food truck. I've ordered birria tacos and the surf & turf taco from here and both were amazing. The staff is always friendly. The aquas frescas have been delicious each time I've gone as well. There are a few chairs to sit on, but I'd recommend taking your food over a few blocks to the beach. :)

wow! This place had great food with amazing portions. The guy really loads up your tacos with lots of meat. Great deal $3 for street tacos. He took a little while because we ordered so much but everything came out awesome. The birria tacos had a nice crunch and the meat is flavorful. I really enjoyed the birria ramen as well. The broth has an extra hint of cinnamon which is different from others but I loved it. The food truck is right next to the gas station and you just order on the tablet. The guy is so nice. Will definitely be back

Had a big order with friends and tried different menu items. The service was quick and able to order on the ipad by the window. The street tacos were loaded with meat and generously portioned. All the birria meat was tender and the actual soup had a cinnamon taste to it. Different but was still really good. The al pastor street tacos were delicious! You can choose to add or remove toppings. The churros were nice and crispy, would recommend trying. The asada fries had a good flavor but I would pass on these and try the nachos next time. They got soggy by the time I got to them so I suggest eating these right then and there. Overall I recommend giving this taco truck a try and would go back to try other items!

Delicious quick food that's a little pricey but about what I expect for a food truck. I got the Quesadilla with Birria which was delicious! The birria is flavorful and the serving size is more than enough! Knocking a star off because of price but also the salsa I would describe as just fine. I got chips and salsa on the side and the chips are standard grocery store corn chips but the salsa is a little lackluster. Overall great little spot for a food truck parked at a gas station.

Food truck at a gas station. How good will it be? It's great actually. I got a steak asada super burrito. It was good considering there are taquerias within a minute or 2 walk from here. Good balance between the meat and other stuff like sauce and veggies. They gave me a bag of crunchy tortilla chips too. Some taquerias in the area charge extra for that. Yeah the guy who took my order was also the one who made my burrito but I'm glad it was made to order.

This food truck called Corazon Mexicano (Mexican Heart) is sort of permanently temporary here on 24th street in the Mission district a few blocks up from the Zoo/Flea Market/BART station at 24th and Mission. Down at that intersection, you feel more like you're in a Caribbean country's flea market, where everything is available for sale or theft, with high speed rail connections. This truck is a few blocks up the hill, near Valencia. They have a good assortment of basic Mexican food truck items. I opted for the 2 tacos Birria, which is a bit of a trend right now, and started in Tijuana Mexico originally with goat meat, and spread through Instagram to the US. It is packed with juicy pulled beef fillings and cheese, so quesabirria, served with a side of hearty broth for dipping, and a lime. Perfect for the San Diego college kid or Sailor crossing the border to Tijuana to combine with their Corona or shot of Tequila, just request more lime wedges. Mine here was served with a wedge of lime, puffed tortilla chips and a few radish slices, which help cut through the grease on your palate, and several napkins to wipe it off your fingers. It was cooked quickly and ready, which was great because I was in a bit of a rush, and opted for this truck's convenience because El Farolito down on Mission had a long line, and parking within 2 -3 blocks of 24th and Mission is impossible. Quesabirria is a bit of a greasy dipping mess, but a sloppy good time. Where's my south of the border adult beverage?

We had the fish and Burris tacos. Both were excellent. Everything was made to order and HOT! The menu was clear and easy to understand. We ate at the counter, which was clean and comfortable. The service was friendly. Beverage choices are very limited, but it's in the parking lot of a gas station, so it would be easy to purchase anything you wanted. Well worth the 14stop dogs to get here. XD

    Melody Y.

Wasn't sure how good a food truck at a gas station would be, but the birria combo tacos were amazing. The meat was flavorful enough and not dry at all without the sides, but dipping the tacos in the soup was *chef's kiss*. The side of salsa wasn't really spicy but added to the flavor. I would definitely come back here again for it

The Leo's taco truck literally is located in San Francisco/Ocean Beach with a view of the Pacific Ocean. Leo's taco trucks are known in Southern California as THE taco truck for reasonably priced street tacos, that are beyond delicious. The experience at the San Francisco/Ocean Beach taco truck was great. For the most part it mirrors the LA experience, which is exactly what I wanted. It's like having a piece of home. Menu prices are nonexistent so there's no way to determine exactly what you're going to be charged. I ordered two Al pastor tacos, and was charged seven dollars which included tax. I really like that they always include a piece of pineapple with the Al Pastor. The tacos were absolutely yummy. The meat was flavorful, but definitely not as juicy as the LA version. Plus, they don't seem to be as generous with meat at this location as they are in LA. The talk of themselves are not the traditional small street tacos, and yet they're smaller than the traditional sized tacos. They do provide bagged condiments that include sauces and radish. I was super hesitant to try them because of some of the other reviews. Tasty tacos, and if you've ever been to Leo's, and you, in this part of the Bay Area, it's definitely worth a stop.
