You pick the base flavor, then waffle cone, cake cone or cup, and lastly optional toppings of sprinkles, almonds, Oreos, a variety of syrups. They were sold out of several flavors but luckily had Mitchell's grasshopper pie, which is one of my favorites. As a splurge, I opted for the Tcho chocolate dip in a cup. Found this ice cream truck located behind the golden gate bandshell this past Sunday, while my bf and I were hanging out in the area before an event we had plans to attend later in the evening. There was a long wait, with just one guy in the truck helping customers. But he was professional and friendly with a cheerful attitude. The place was sold out of lots of flavors, sauces, and toppings on the menu by late afternoon. But there were still some good options available like Mitchell's coffee flavored ice cream and grasshopper pie. So I was extra excited to spot the twirl and dip truck outside tunneltops playground at the presidio on a Saturday afternoon! Same amazing ice cream made of the most quality local ingredients--organic milk, tcho chocolate and Mitchell's ice cream if you choose hard serve. We always get tcho chocolate-dipped twist cones. The dude and I came to Twirl and Dip at San Francisco Golden Gate Park on 11/11/23. We stumbled upon this absolutely delicious ice cream spot by accident. There was a long line but it makes sense as the ice cream is out of this world. We waited about 45 minutes. We liked the vintage style of the ice cream truck and the dude inside was slaying it ALL by themself! So impressive. I got the honey comb ice cream which was delicious and the dude got something similar as well. My mouth waters for this sooooo tasty and delicious. You have to try it. They ran out of fudge but only that dip chocolate which was good but made it a little challenging to eat as the chocolate immediately froze . It was like I was fighting with my ice cream with honey comb pieces dancing around it. But once I got the groove of it . It was well. Overall, if in the San Frann area you must give this place a try and make sure to leave a tip as this place hands down is probably one of the tastiest treats! read more

There are different topping options like sprikles, chocolate chips (homemade), almonds, and you can dip and add a cone if you choose so. There is also ice cream available if you prefer ice cream vs. Soft serve. They had coffee and strawberry. Both were very flavorful as well. The strawberry wws our favorite! The menu is a little confusing and unclear because it was written in chalk on the outside of the truck and was fadding/rubbed off in certain spots. This is the best chocolate dipped soft serve ice cream cone I've ever had!! I asked the worker if I could split one serving into half so my little kids could have the right portion and he was more than happy to that. We got the chocolate vanilla swirl. Good ice cream but you have to be prepared to wait.. and if you don't have time to wait, it's not worth it. I just moved to the area and have been to this truck a few times. Overall, I've gathered the opinion that the ice cream is good but the line is ALWAYS way too long. Prepare to wait over an hour.. the line doesn't move quickly. One of the workers who is always there is extremely slow moving. I've noticed some of his coworkers move the line much quicker. As other reviewers have said, gloves are not changed between handling cash and food. Forgot to mention that if you wait in line, have multiple options prepared to order as they frequently run out and don't even notify the line if they are running low. When I was out in San Fran a year ago my friend told me about a magical soft serve ice cream truck that dishes out chocolate dipped cones with sea salt. I was buggin. I had to have some. Unfortunately the day we were to go it was raining and the Twirl and Dip truck did not make an appearance. SADNESS. This year I was determined. I'd be dreaming about those cones all year long, after all. It was a fairly warm, sunny day and we made our way over to Golden Gate Park to get our ice cream on. When we arrived I was overwhelmed. There were the aforementioned dipped cones but also ice cream sodas, popsicles, sundaes and more. I knew I had to get the cone but I also opted for the butterscotch ice cream soda. I'm a little bit crazy when it comes to sugar. I watched the gal inside the truck make the soda. It was insane. I don't know what I was thinking but I was expecting the sheer magnitude of stuff that went into it. Multiple scoops of ice cream, soda water, and about half a bottle of butterscotch syrup, more ice cream, more soda, whipped cream, more butterscotch. I was like "Oh crap. What have I done." Luckily I was with 3 other people who were more than happy to help me polish that baby off. And it was gone pretty quickly. It is VERY sweet. If you like sugar and butterscotch definitely order this. If you're not big on sugar I would avoid at all costs. As I mentioned, I am big on sugar so I was in heaven. Buzzy, twitchy, delicious heaven. The ice cream cone was a bit less intense but no less delicious. I ordered mine in a hand-made sugar cone. The cone was fantastic but if I'm being honest I probably wouldn't order it again, if only for the cleanliness factor. it tasted amazing but it was shaped in such a way that it made eating the ice cream a bit challenging. By the end I was a sticky mess and there wasn't really a place around for me to go wash my hands. The ice cream was smooth and creamy with a solid vanilla flavor to it. The chocolate was Tcho fair trade dark chocolate and sprinkled with Maldon sea salt. It was rich, not too sweet, and had a lovely salty crunch. I'm craving it just as I think about it. I love this place!!!!!!! The vanilla bean ice cream is amazing especially if you get it dipped with the sea salt. It's in my top 5 ice creams in SF, but the biggest downside is the price. The price for the ice cream without the extras is $5 and with the extras is $7 which is a LOT of money for ice cream. Still worth it... but I think I would get it a lot more if with the extras it was $5. It is also quite far from other things unless you're in the park and going to the museums in the area, so I wish I could come here more often than I do. If you're in the area and have $7 in CASH ONLY to spare, you need to go!
