Walked to Copperhead Tavern for lunch after a hot sunny mornings at the Indiatlantic Beach. A cute pub with indoor and great outdoor seating. A couple of cold draft beer followed by the Tavern salad for me and a Tavern burger for my husband. The burger was cooked just right and deemed delicious. The salad was fresh with a nice mix of greens, a deviled egg, onions, olives and tomatoes with ranch dressing. Our server was efficient and pleasant. All in all, a positive experience. Whoever said this place has craft beer apparently doesn't understand craft beer either. Very much a let down which is typical of every place Djon owns. They only have soda for mixing so forget about getting a dr pepper because the only thing you're getting is syrupy coke. The poutine was way to fancy for what it is actually supposed to be, and the "4 cheese mac and cheese" had absolutely NO flavor! Would not recommend. Tastiest lamb burger I think I've EVER had! interesting menu and great laid back atmosphere, It was just too dang hot in there, that is my only complaint. I foresee placing a lot of "to go" orders though! 5 of us tried it for the first time the other night, and every one of us loved what we got. I would definitely agree with other reviews that the fries definitely need to be crispier though. Love how they spiced the pickles and offered a variety of spiced olives as one of the appetizers. My wife and I have been big fans of the restaurant for the past 8 months. The quality has gone way down in the past 2 months or so. The waitresses stand around and chat with each other rather than tend to the customers. I highly recommend the lamb burger. Also, if you order wings and/or fries, request them to be cooked extra as they tend to under cook them and then you get hot mushy fries and slimy wings. After I wrote this review, I read through the previous posts and I noticed that most reviews prior to 2 - 3 months had very good ratings. I think that validates quality and service have gone way down. A lot of the good waitresses they had before are no longer there. We will try again every couple of months to see if they can address these issues. In the meantime, Amici's beachside, City Tropics (owned by same owner as Copperhead), Haru, Thai Thai II, and Bunky's are good alternatives. read more

Stopped in last night on our way home from Meg's. I've passed Copperhead Tavern several times and was excited to stop in for a drink when our wonderful Fall weather came. What a fabulous building, atmosphere was awesome, music was great. My husband ordered a Guinness and when I asked if they had Smirnoff, the bartender told me that Copperhead Tavern's clientele doesn't order call brands so they don't carry it. So after making me feel like a 3rd rate citizen, I ordered a Cosmo...I would have walked out but my husband's very flat, undrinkable Guinness was already served. The reason I am rating copper head tavern with one star is simply because they do not have air conditioning. I love the place and love the atmosphere, the layout is great and the food is great, the bartenders are the best,but this is Florida and it is summertime, the last few times I have been there I've sat inside and still felt like I was in a sauna. I know I am not the only one that feels this way, but suggestions to the owner is to get an air conditioning that keeps the inside cold and comfortable for your customers, if they don't they will lose business. My visit here was incredibly mediocre. From the pictures and the food menu I thought this place was going to be awesome and I feel misled, at least about the food and service. My boyfriend and I came here one weekend and sat more outside on one of their couch seats. We ordered drinks and food both which took forever to get to us. Granted, they really could have been busy inside and we didn't see it. However, the truly bad part was after we had ordered our food. The waitress came up to ask if we ordered anything, I was pretty exasperated at this moment because we put our order in with the same waitress an hour ago and she just forgot about us and even taking our order. I reminded her that we had ordered two of their burgers and she wrote it down in her notebook. About 10 minutes after this conversation a different waiter came out later and finally handed us our food. We sat there and ate it and the food was incredibly bland, no flavor whatsoever, it really was not worth it. Immediately after we finished our food the waitress that took our first and second order of burgers came out with two prepared burgers. It seemed like the servers were not communicating with the back of the house at all. For the cost of the bill and how the food and service was this trip to the tavern really didn't feel like it was worth the price. I would like to come back here and maybe give it another try because the location decor is pretty awesome I won't deny that, and honestly it may have just been a bad day for the tavern. Two stars for ambiance. Bartenders are great and on top of any empty glass. But the food is horrendous and inconsistent. I ordered the wedge salad and received half a head of salad with a glob of bleu cheese and two strips of bacon across the top. I really wanted to like this place. It's beachside with a 70s/80s lots of dark wood feel. Add some ferns and be magically transported back in time when Heineken was avant garde. Don't expect to find your favorite Trappist brew but the beer selection was decent and my burger was passable. We started with the poutine which tasted a little off in the couple bites I had. My wife opted for the mac and cheese that came out looking like the box stuff with some green onion scattered on top. The box stuff with some green onion would have been better. Back to the poutine. After I finished my burger my wife asked if I thought the taste of the poutine was a bit off and I agreed. She pointed out that the cheese was gross. Up to that point I hadn't tasted the cheese curds in the poutine so I popped a bit in my mouth only to experience one of the worst things I've ever tasted. Bile, I think bile might be the closest thing to how their cheese curds tasted. Completely rancid. I've had cheese curds in different forms in poutine and fried curds and I think I can safely say that their cheese curds were rancid. I couldn't spit it out fast enough. Went for lunch and watched a cool storm roll in and over us from a stool - we were in the middle so stayed dry despite the open atmosphere. Had the burger and fries for lunch which was just okay. I wouldn't come here for a burger again as there are better ones in the area and I have to agree with an review that the fries were underdone -- should be crisper. The staff was friendly and attentive and there was not a long wait for drinks or food. Although they call it a Tavern, it is nicer than one and it would be a decent place to stop in for a drink or two . . . day or night. read more

It was a warm December night when I paid my visit to the tavern. Prior to, I had been boolin with some Jameson. I ordered just some food and was impressed with the speed, quality, and price. However, they drowned the cauliflowers with wing sauce and provided me with sub par blue cheese similar to great value quality. For the price, I felt entitled to hidden valley. I've tried this place out a few times. I just left from trying lunch, and once again I'm disappointed. My first two times i fell in love with the place, especially with the poutine. Unfortunately, those were the only two times. The last 3 times I keep hoping they'll revert back to being good, but I've left disappointed everytime. This last time was a awakening. First off, they tell me they have chicken and waffles on special. Ok sounds good, except it was left overs from the night before, no problem. Then they tell me they have meatloaf on special as well, hmmm, meatloaf is tomorrow's special...,,wait... They pre make there specials a day in advance?? So the chicken and waffles is really how many days old? I decided let's play safe and try the meatloaf. Disgusting! Tasted like a blob of mess drenched in gravy with bagged mashed potatoes. Gross! I also tried the Poutain once again, and it was also just drenched in a bland sauce with no oxtail what so ever. On top of that, the owner, Dijon's son, is sitting at the bar drinking a beer(at 12:30pm) flirting with the female bartender. This place is a joke, another $70.00 down the drain. Only positive I saw was the bartender Shelly make hand made margaritas, which I'd why I gave it a one star. Iv learned my lesson and have given this place many opportunities. We absolutely love copperhead! The staff is so welcoming and happy. The manager is always helping his staff and smiling. We love Shelly and Harley behind the bar! We are from out of town and make sure to stop at least once every time we come in town. The food is delicious! A man from the kitchen came up front by the bar and started yelling aat one of the servers telling her she is fired and to go home. I thought it was uncalled for he should have pulled the young lady to the back and told her that instead of yelling at her in front of a full restaurant. Went for beers. Bartenders were okay. Waitstaff were completely indifferent. Sat for over an hour and had to retrieve two beers from the bar because the waitresses couldn't be bothered. Finally asked whose station we were sitting in, only to be told that it was nobody's station. Given that at least three waitresses were "working" the floor, it seemed odd. First time ckecking out the tavern; pretty cute place however a bit dirty and staff just standing around. Food was mediocre to say the least; my server/bartender (Shelley); after i had to ask for her name was more interested in socializing and drinking (watched her consume alcohol ) than she was assisting patrons. There seemed to be no real "manager" on site; as i was told the manager was not available?? The place seemed like a playground for the employees; like the young staff ran the place than any reasonable experienced staff (management ) would. Very unfortunate experience. I dont see how my server still has a job!!! She made my experience unpleasant! My thoughts clean it up and hire people who care about their jobs and not inexperienced employees who would rather drink on the job and ignore your customers. To start off this place is falling apart, the food is at best mediocre and the management is the problem. We came in because we have drove by many times and wondered how it was. Ready for a great night the first thing we noticed was the aweful smell. Once we sat at the bar we could see the floor behind the bar is falling apart and those poor bartenders are working with wet feet. Personally id sue for it. Its disgusting, inhumane and fing crazy. Djon needs to get a grip and fix that immediately. It started to rain a little later and half the bar was covered in water because the roof is cheap ass plastic. So we moved inside to a table where soon more water was coming from the ceiling inside. There is black mold everywhere. This is not a place to eat or drink. It should be condemned. Thats not even it, our bartender Britney was great took extra care of us and gave us some great conversation. We just had an issue with the food. So we asked her if we could speak to a manager. She walked over and explained to Tommy the manager what our problem was, he walked up and asked us in 3 different ways was there a problem with the service from your bartender. She had nothing to do with our problem. Im not to sure why he kept asking us that but we didnt resolve anything but the fact we wont be coming back if we see him. I also will be contacting a few important people to come check out how disgusting it is and hopefully get something legally done about this. Im not too sure how this establishment has not been shut down considering its on the dirtiest restaurants in brevard list. Obviously your manager isnt doing his job and just doesnt care.
