After driving by so many times, and my son meeting the owner at his work, we decided to try it out for dinner. It was busy (World Series), but we immediately got a table (Tuesday night). Nice menu, with variety and pretty much a full bar. My son said they had a good beer menu (I don't drink). I ordered the meatloaf sandwich, which came with a choice of a side, I choose fries based on the reviews I read. My son ordered the blackened chicken sandwich, which was suggested by the owner earlier that day, and we also ordered the sausage pizza to try. Being a Jersey girl, I find myself somewhat of a pizza snob. The pie was 8 slices, and ok. Don't think I'd order it again. IMO it needs to be a little more cooked and crispier. The meatloaf was delicious. It came on a French roll with cheese and onion strings. Next time I think I'd order it without the bread. It was too much. My son said the blackened chicken was delicious. He finished it all. Even though it was busy and the game was on, it wasn't too loud. You could hear each other really well. Overall, great place. We'll definitely go back. I'd given them 5 stars before, but I've had more frequent disappointments with this place. Several times, the online posted hours and actual hours weren't a match, and we wasted a trip. They no longer offer gift cards, even though they used to. I wasted another trip there because one of the uninformed staff said they did, only to find out they don't. I tried the meatloaf sandwich, it was served to me very hot on the bottom, the top, where the cheese was, the cheese had been melted but now cold, sat in the kitchen a long time before being served. It was not good at all. Had one of their featured drinks, cosmopolitan martini. It was horrible. Served to me at room temperature. It was sour AF (fake lime juice). One of the bartenders kept making eye contact with me and my friend, but never came over to greet us, or to say we'll be right with you. It took us about 15 mins before the other bartender took our order. My friend ordered a pear cider which is her usual there, and I went for an Irish mule. Her cider seemed to be flavorless, and my Irish mule just tasted like over iced watered down ginger beer. For the price, it was ok since it was only like $13 for both drinks, but I will def just stick to my usually double shot of Jameson next time. At first when I was looking for a local chill bar, Copper Still Grill showed up and I can't believe the prices I was seeing. I had to check it out for myself. No lies, no gimmicks, just good food, good drinks, good prices! Now that we have established that, some tips for you: 1. Great ambience, especially on Friday nights when they have the farmers market outside. It might be a tad hard to find seats though if you are a big party. 2. Located in Old Town Monrovia right on Myrtle, this spot has super fun vibes, great music & yummy food! The music is great 70-80s music. Big bar in the middle makes for easy way to get drinks. Food was good. Jalepeno Bites - these came out HOT! Let them cool off! These were ok, didn't taste the freshest. Copper Burger with Sweet Potato Fries - made to order burger, arugula, house island, Cheddar, tomato, red onions - WOW!! This was really good! The burger was yum! The sweet potato fries were some of the best! Thin, fresh & crispy! Margarita Pizza - this was pretty good, but not great. I was craving something bready, should have got a burger! Now I know! Pear Cider - Yum! This was really good! Mango Hef - Yum & not too much aftertaste. If anyone were to ask what I thought about copper still grill a few months ago I would've raved about how great the food is ,the service, and just the overall energy of the place. That being said I want to be completely transparent with my recent experience in this establishment. My friend and I have been wanting to throw a combined birthday party together and since we loved copper still grill, we thought why not have it here? They have a nice loft area you can reserve free of charge and the owner was great, very communicative as well. We had our time set for 8pm on a Saturday night (which usually gets pretty packed) and everything was going good, we got our food/drink orders in and then that's when everything slowly started to decline. The server made us feel like we were a burden being there, they handed us a late night menu (which is from 9-11pm) and everything was cool until it was around 8:30-9pm we were told that they were doing last call on food? I ended up asking a different server just to confirm if it really was "last call" for food and he said no that it's at 10:30 but that he would double check. They went directly to the server that originally told us that it was last call and the response was apparently because they ran out of ingredients? Food? Which I'm not 100% sure was really true.. I guess if you want to reserve a space for a party look into having it much earlier in the day or else they'll "run out of food"! read more

The food here was priced really well and very tasty. There were tons of sports fans seated around a large bar in the center with TVs everywhere watching football and soccer. I usually don't complain about my food allergies bc gluten free is a slightly unusual one, but this place is a bit of a hazard for people with food allergies. The menu incorrectly lists a bunch of items as "gluten friendly". Some things can be made gluten free, but I would not trust any of the food that traditionally has flour or wheat to be made gluten free upon request. The servers also do not know/ understand the menu in terms of food allergies and could not answer questions. I requested the chef be alerted of my allergy and the server still brought me a bread-crusted chicken (my moms was served without the crust, so I think the server just mixed up the plate, but it's still dangerous for me and would have ruined my weekend if I had not realized.) Other than that, I think this is a good place for beers and their killer specials, but not for people with food allergies. The reason this is an easy 5-star spot is because everything here tastes amazing and reasonably priced. Something safe to say is that I like my beer, which of course, Copper Still, being the amazing place that it is, has several options. Batsquash is batsquash good, as good as their prices. Their shooters... cactus cooler... geez that is a good drink, as good as a cactus cooler. But let's say you don't like cactus cooler, that's fine, literally all of their other shooters are delicious too and consistent with their amazing prices. The food is also delicious, the cauliflower does it for me, but everything else is also safe to go with. Service is always great, and the ambiance is even better, especially when there's a game on. Cooper's was a good time! I want to give an updated review once I've had the food, but so far so good! Covid procedures: They are open for outdoor dining both in the front and back. Clean restrooms as well. In the back they actually have long tables all spaced out and equipped with disinfectant spray and paper towels for all your ppe needs. Waiters are standing by towards the back door with menus and waters if you need it. Parking: there is some parking next too the establishment but otherwise there is street parking on myrtle. Service was great! We got our menus, order and beers very quickly. The beers were also pretty cheap too (and by that i mean actually priced well lol). We were able to enjoy some live music (a one man band) right when we got there and there are two massive tv screens playing so it still feels like an in dining bar without being inside. This has been the second time we came, and both times, we had horrible service. When u walk in, you don't know who works here. Further more. How efen long does it take to make a soup and grilled cheese. When they eventually brought it out, soup was not hot, fries smelled like if they had been sitting out. How they stay in business with all these issues is a surprise to me. We should not have to pay for bad service and cold food. My favorite neighborhood spot to grab a drink, catch the game, and have a bite to eat. Pretty much everything here is $5, beers, a whole menu of $5 items. Quality is good too, just cuz its only $5 you're not just getting some microwaved fries. They have sliders, shrimp, nachos, etc. I really like everything I've had here. The bartenders are all really great. Yohan is cool, he always seems to be here whenever I go and he always takes care of me in a timely manner. In the past year or so, I've gotten to know Old Town Monrovia thanks to Yelp SGV CM Margaret P.! Copper Still Grill was the site of her DEBUT as a matter of fact! I recently had the opportunity to come back a second time after a Yelp Helps event when Margaret treated the volunteers to Happy Hour! The decor is mostly brick and a comfortable sports bar feeling that wouldn't stop me from bringing non-sports people! It isn't filled with sports memorabilia - which I appreciate! It feels roomy and spacious. There are cool colorful umbrellas hanging from the ceiling for a pop of color. The happy hour food was better then it needs to be! Margaret ordered pizzas for the table: BBQ Chicken, Margarita and Veggie - all were good! My end of the table ordered the salsa and chips, veggie egg rolls and veggie dumplings. All were good! My Guinness was lovely with a nice, creamy head. My companions had other beers and a Moscow Mule and all were proclaimed as tasty. My first time here and even though the pear cider I had set my sights on was sold out , I still fully enjoyed the experience. I had a triple berry seltzer...but let's be real a seltzer is no cider. For round 2 I ordered a red wine sangria and it was on point! To help me down the seltzer, I ordered crispy chicken with teriyaki sauce and dipped it in ranch (yum!) Sweet potato fries aw natural came with sugar and balanced the salty chicken perfectly. Highly recommend! I've been here since my original post and it's like a good stinky cheese. It grows on you. The service is great. Friendly. The karaoke singers are .... lol entertaining. They have happy hour twice! The 9:00pm to closing is great. It can get very loud and the smokers can be irritating since the entire front is open to the outside. But, if you're looking for a place to stay open until 2:00am in MONROVIA-this is about all you get. Luckily it's fun and great prices. With a full bar and hefty selection of beers on tap.
