Went here many times a few years ago when we lived nearby. It's been a while since we've been back, and we were really looking forward to it! Unfortunately, customer service has gone down the tank. What used to be friendly service has turned into cold, unwelcoming people who can't even muster a "hi" "how are you?" or "good morning" on a Sunday morning. Food was good. Prices have gone up (understandable), which is a shame because the customer service was so bad we probably won't ever come back. Really bummed about this y'all! Maybe pay your staff more so they can muster some sort of "hello" instead of "what do you want?" when they walk up to your car window. read more

This place is small and nice. A few inside seats as well as a shaded patio area for outdoor seating. Bagels and boiled and baked in house and you can tell. The bagels have a chewy but soft texture and are a bit small, but light and airy. Cream cheese was smooth and flavorful and held up to the heat of the bagel without getting runny. The everything bagel has toppings just on top, but they are plentiful and well toasted. The perfect balance of onion, salt, seeds. The jalapeño cream cheese is made with pickled jalapeños with a hint of heat and sweet.. but the crown glory, the house made party with Schreiners sausage.. do yourself a favor and get that.. so good! Service was quick and the coffee was flowing. The staff was kind and the place had a revolving door of people streaming in from the time we arrived until we left! This place came recommended. Cool vibe eclectic, industrial, & cosy for my first visit. Loved the look of the menu and drink options are way better sounding than any chain store. I'm a bit of a bagel snob, these are made in house fresh daily. Good selection of flavors I had the rosemary Asiago pastrami breakfast sandwich bagel. I've been going to Copper consistently the last three years and am surprised I haven't reviewed this spot before. Best thing at Copper is the bagels/bagel breakfast sammies .. and the cream cheese is unexpectedly delicious, too. I liked copper coffee at first .. and I see a review here that's recent that says "best coffee in the valley". That's an unhinged review imo - there is SO MUCH truly top of the line coffee in the valley .. but copper ain't it. (Xolo, Homage, Esso, Union Coffee .. all excellent high quality espresso.) If you want "a coffee" and something absolutely delicious to eat - copper is the spot. The vibes are unmatched. The service is friendly and chill. Funny even. Never had a bad experience. But, the espresso is just not good the last 6 ish months I literally stop somewhere else for coffee and then go get a bagel from copper. I'd rather drink home coffee .. which says a lot. Not sure if it's the beans, the machine, the grind, the temp .. idk. Just not worth it to me. I love their iced tea - one size .. huge - always good I love their chai and especially blended chai - two very dif drinks I love their GF almond cookies - fire Their cookies in general are great. I love their inclusivity and how hard they ride for the LGBTQ community and melrose community .. like F*CK I love copper!!! But their coffee lately (espresso especially but including cold brew, hot drop iced whatever) has not been less than good. Inside a restored gas station is a really, really good bagel shop. Their pastrami on a sesame bagel is perfect- the cheese, the meat, it's all perfectly seasoned and so good. My wife loved her ham bagel sandwich and my six-year-old daughter couldn't stop talking about her plain bagel with cream cheese. Their coffee is also great with many different kinds and flavors. Really liked their vegan options for bagels. I had asked to get a bagel with tomato and mixed greens with a side of vegan cream cheese. I asked for it to be lighted toasted and it was delicious. I don't however like that the person assisting didn't seem to be as friendly when I asked questions about the items. I went through a drive through that was easy to place the orders but they don't give you an itemized version of your receipt to know what you paid for. I ordered a vanilla latte with oat milk and did enjoy the taste of this. I might try again and see how the service is this next time around. read more

My favorite pistachio iced latte was extra scrumptious and perfect today so i figured todays the day I leave a yelp review. This is my favorite local coffee spot in Phoenix, not only is their coffee splendid, but their bagels are bangin as well. A salt bagel with plain cream cheese has me speaking to God on a regular basis. I also love that there is a drive through because most days I want to roll directly out of my bed, get in my car, and roll up to get my pistachio latte without being perceived by anyone other than the amazing Copper Star staff. This was an unexpected little heaven my boyfriend and I encountered today . This has got to be the best breakfast food and coffee in Arizona! Without knowing anything about this place we could immediately tell the bagels were made from scratch. It's so hard to find places that don't have any added ingredients to food and coffee. Every time I visit my friend, we HAVE to make the trek to Copper star despite it being 30 minutes away from her apartment. This may be my favorite bagel in the country. I always opt for the rosemary asiago (often sold out) toasted with plain cream cheese and an iced white mocha latte. Last time we shared a banana muffin and we both deemed it the best banana muffin we've ever had. This place is adorable with their gas station like drive through and LGBTQ supported community. It was out of this world. I visited on a Saturday morning and it was busy. Despite it being busy we were served our orders pretty quickly. There are seating options indoors and on the outside patio. I went through the drive thru this morning and got an iced vanilla latte (10/10) and their breakfast bagel on a plain bagel. The baristas were super friendly and the service was fairly quick. I had a full punch card (free drink), no cash, and wanted to leave a tip so I asked the lady (new/never seen prior to today) to charge me for a can of plain carbonated water. It was $3.63. For a can of fizzy water. I've done this in the past and it was around a buck fifty. I have cases of that water at home, but I didn't want to take the free drink and run away. I just checked the menu pricing and a can of water is 1.50. How does one not know the difference between a bottle (3.50) and a can (1.50)?
