Not the best nor worst off fashioned I've had. It was potent as hell I tell you that but not in a bad way. Just a decent yet stiff cocktail I like that their menu is extensive especially their whisky selection. Their happy hour price incentives are a deal to say the least. I see potential here. The only question is will they reach it & become competitive amongst Chicago best

A great late evening meal with unique Chicago charm. I started with the chicken and vegetable soup which came out at the perfect temperature to eat and then opted for the Pre Theater two course (Course 3 + Curtain Call). For the two course I picked the Steak Frites, and the Copper Club Sundae with salted caramel ice cream. The steak was tender and perfectly cooked, but the sundae was very icy. Will definitely go back.

I came here right before a show at the Chicago Symphony. Location-wise it is VERY convenient if you are in the theatre district and trying to grab a meal before a show. They do have a pre-theatre menu, which is honestly a great deal! The timing though was a little precarious (ie i barely made it in time for my show because food was taking too long). And the quality of food was just okay; i upgraded to the steak frites, and it was a weird / very fibrous and tough cut of meat. The dessert was also lacking (i got the brownie sundae, and it was not fudgey or warm in any way)

AMAZING! That is how I would describe the food here. My friend I came here before we saw the Lion King and did the 3 course meal for $42 a person. We had the croquettes, burrata, kale salad, wedge salad, fish and chips and steak frites. All were excellent and I will for sure be back again!

I came here just hopping around the city today and the drink and calamari were so good! It was very dead in there but it was like 1 pm on a Friday so it's to be expected service was good for sure they helped me with a charger I would recommend/definitely be back!

You can definitely tell from the vibe of the place that it's definitely leaning towards after-work happy hour and not really a restaurant for dinner with friends Still good food - especially the burrata appetizer but thought the pasta was a little too heavy (...and gloopy?) with the over-reduced/creamy sauce. The flavor was pretty good but for the price and how it was labelled as "lamb ragu", there was definitely a lack of protein. The service was alright - everyone was friendly and nice

The burger was pretty good for the size. The fries were the best thing on the menu! I enjoyed the ambiance it felt comforting and relaxing. The servers were very accommodating for a large group and answered any questions we had about the menu. Service was very fast which I liked! The drinks were decent for the price.

We celebrated our Valentine's Day dinner here, and it was absolutely delicious! We chose the special menu, where we selected two coursed from their curated options for a fixed price. $36 per person seemed like a great deal! We went with the fish and chips and a dessert, as well as the croquet and steak. Everything was cooked to perfection and full of flavor. The ambiance was great for setting the mood, with dim lighting and various seating arrangements, from cozy booths to a comfortable couch setup around a table. We had a last-minute change in our Valentine's Day plans, so we were worried about finding a great restaurant with reservations still available. However, we were pleasantly surprised with our choice and will definitely be back soon.

Adorable and cozy setting. Decor is welcoming and well thought out. Servers were great. Attentive and knew the menu. Our food arrived quickly and correct. We would go there again, happy we just found it on our walk to the theater.

Came by for drinks. The inside is cozy with wide chairs and a large bar. Our waitress was very attentive and helped my friend pick out a cocktail she loved. We had an espresso martini & one of their cocktails I can't remember the exact name but it was similar to an old fashioned. Both cocktails were great. would definitely be back for more drinks and to try some food.

This is inside an office building. The 2 lnd floor is office space and a sitting area for those who work here w IDs bc you can go there without access. You can only go on the escalator. It's a nice and comfortable casual place. The $16 burrata which was fresh with fig like balsamic vinaigrette had this homemade pear butter on bottom and it was so good and a sweet surprise! I wish it were on the side bc I liked spreading it on the break more easily. And it would have been nice to know where it was and once we found it it was so good! The $9 fries were crispy but not too much and and the garlic aioli sauce was good and put on the side. The butternut squash soup came in a cute bowl for $5 and was okay but I would say I would like more squash. But for $5 it was perfect as a sampler to enjoy it with the good and chewy bread, the sangria $8 during happy hour 4-6pm was amazing! No fruit inside but it felt like I had so many fruit pieces without the fruit. The flavors were so good. Just really yummy. The old fashioned was good too and strong and the cube is $2 extra so a total of $10 from $8 during happy hour, our waitress Autumn was super cute and sweet! Friendly and easy going.

Went after work with colleagues for a drink and sat at a high boy by the bar. Service was remarkably fast. We all came at different times but the server was always there when we needed her and brought drinks quickly. She easily had us pay separately with no fuss. Someone ordered fries and they were crispy and flavorful / wish I'd ordered my own!

For starters, we had a reservation which I would recommend. We were seated right away and while the place is large inside, I'm not sure what walk-in availability is like. The food: we really enjoyed the octopus, escargot, I had the Filet Mignon Au Poivre, and the banana/coconut entremet. The octopus was tender and flavorful; octopus cooked right (especially in smaller pieces) is hard to find so I was impressed. The escargot was nice and buttery/garlicky, and piping hot. I LOVED my Filet with the green peppercorn cream sauce! It was delicious and my husband was surprised I ate so much of it. It was cooked exactly as I asked, the meat had good flavor, and the sauce was delicious and well balanced + the right consistency. Lastly, the banana and coconut dessert was a pleasant surprise. The banana flavor was fresh (not artificial) and had the right balance of coconut. It was creamy, not too sweet, and had the right balance of textures with the outer coating and the crumble underneath - if you like banana or coconut at all I'd say it's a must order! The creme brulee was just okay. My issue was the service - the table next to ours LIT ON FIRE because a menu was over the top of a candle. After burning half the menu and the fire was getting larger, our partners ran over and put it out with their napkins. They yelled and there was NO ACKNOWLEDGEMENT from the staff at all - at least 2 staff saw and one waiters eyes got big for a minute and she turned away. Not even a thank you from anyone to our partners for putting it out, and they had to ask for new napkins because theirs had black char on them. We were in the middle of enjoying our appetizers and my friend was just digging into her French onion soup from our first round and the staff kept trying to take our plates away. My friend had to tell them 3 times to please leave the soup at the table, and overall made us feel very rushed. We weren't taking a long time to eat at all so felt very weird? When the entrees were dropped on the table, my friend got a steak and they kept trying to give her a butter knife. It took multiple attempts to get the correct knife. Then once we were done eating it took a while to get our plates and old glasses cleared away. Overall service timing was off and their aggressiveness in the beginning of trying to take our plates away + the lack of response to A FIRE in the restaurant was pretty alarming. While I enjoyed the food there, the service was pretty bad and I feel unsafe with the lack of response to a fire in the restaurant so I don't think we'll return.

It was ultra-soft, with a minuscule dab of chocolate. The poached eggs were completely flavorless. They might have been old eggs six weeks away from the farm, I don't know, but all I could taste was the chalky whites. And by the way, poached eggs should always be served with a spoon without the customer having to ask. How do you eat poached eggs with a fork? I asked for my English muffin to be "burnt" (crispy.) They were soft and gummy, just like the croissant. And no jam or jelly was offered. The waiter was polite but inattentive. It's annoying to say, specifically, "I'll have two poached eggs with crispy bacon" and then have the waiter come back and say, "do you want sausage or bacon with that?" And like most restaurants these days, they've switched to that thick-cut bacon that can't be cooked crispy. The breakfast came with a very small side of potatoes, which tasted fine. And I had some green tea that was...okay, but not even remotely like the delicious green tea that most Japanese restaurants offer. I asked my waiter to clear away my plate when I was done, but he either didn't hear me or misunderstood, because he left the plate sitting there. Lastly, when people are eating breakfast, especially on a weekday, they usually have some place they need to get to, and don't want to linger. It took too long after I put my card down for the waiter to pick it up. Every one of these things is a minor complaint (except for the tasteless eggs.) But add them all up and it makes me think -- even though I'm in the area frequently -- "I'll never go back here for breakfast." Overall, a disappointing experience.

I ordered the Escargot and the French Onion Soup. There was also free baguette included at the start of the meal. I loved that the baguette had a substantial crust, for it was an absolute delight to butter it up (though not the best butter in the world), and dip it into the herbaceous escargot butter. However, the inside, despite its temperature, was still gooey/doughy. Too much crust or some other technical issue? I'll let those with baking experience sound off. Whatever the case, the last thing I want to do with fresh baguette is ripping out the innards and rolling it into a ball of silly putty. Now, for the escargot... ah snails, an old favorite, for I don't really love fast food (ha!) These were mostly good, save for two things: First, the texture was still just a little slimy, reminiscent of an oyster. 30 seconds more cook time is all they needed, a minute would be too much! Second, the sauce didn't do them any favors. I've had escargot in a rich, buttery, garlicky, slightly herbed sauce that was beyond divine. This dish went triple-overboard, if not more, on the greens - making it resemble a chimichurri rather than something turning snails into decadence. Now, we arrive at the French Onion Soup. The sheer amount of cheese was so excessive that I recoiled even though I have a line item in my budget for cheese. I fished what remained out, and consumed it only out of spite. Now, while I appreciate the use of crusty bread that didn't turn into soggy croutons, the size of the pieces was too large. I'm one who orders prepared food with the understanding that it is prepared and should require minimal additional work. Steaks that need slicing are exempt, soup is not. Unfortunately, there was one more undoing: while I can understand a less sweet soup may be normal variation in the recipe, one of the spoonfuls had something very sour, as if it was a large wad of sour cream (though none was present). This made were otherwise rich and flavorful broth less than enjoyable. When it comes to the service, this had some good and bad. It was friendly, attentive, and the food came out fast. However, an item of note is that finished plates were not cleared in due course. This applies not only to myself but also the stranger sitting next to me. Final verdict: I wanted to love Le Bouchon, really I did. I was even hoping, at first, to try more of the menu on a return visit. However, the poor execution across the board does not provide the confidence needed for a return visit.

The salmon was cooked perfectly with an extra crispy skin atop juicy, tender meat. The roasted garlic puree complemented the fish very well without covering up its flavor. The lentil and root vegetable hash was filling with a subtle dijon vinaigrette. My favorite part of the meal however, was the griotte.
