Copper Club Sundae with Salted Caramel Ice Cream
    Kimberly S.

A great late evening meal with unique Chicago charm. I started with the chicken and vegetable soup which came out at the perfect temperature to eat and then opted for the Pre Theater two course (Course 3 + Curtain Call). For the two course I picked the Steak Frites, and the Copper Club Sundae with salted caramel ice cream. The steak was tender and perfectly cooked, but the sundae was very icy. Will definitely go back.

Not the best nor worst off fashioned I've had. It was potent as hell I tell you that but not in a bad way. Just a decent yet stiff cocktail I like that their menu is extensive especially their whisky selection. Their happy hour price incentives are a deal to say the least. I see potential here. The only question is will they reach it & become competitive amongst Chicago best

I came here right before a show at the Chicago Symphony. Location-wise it is VERY convenient if you are in the theatre district and trying to grab a meal before a show. They do have a pre-theatre menu, which is honestly a great deal! The timing though was a little precarious (ie i barely made it in time for my show because food was taking too long). And the quality of food was just okay; i upgraded to the steak frites, and it was a weird / very fibrous and tough cut of meat. The dessert was also lacking (i got the brownie sundae, and it was not fudgey or warm in any way)

AMAZING! That is how I would describe the food here. My friend I came here before we saw the Lion King and did the 3 course meal for $42 a person. We had the croquettes, burrata, kale salad, wedge salad, fish and chips and steak frites. All were excellent and I will for sure be back again!

I came here just hopping around the city today and the drink and calamari were so good! It was very dead in there but it was like 1 pm on a Friday so it's to be expected service was good for sure they helped me with a charger I would recommend/definitely be back!

You can definitely tell from the vibe of the place that it's definitely leaning towards after-work happy hour and not really a restaurant for dinner with friends Still good food - especially the burrata appetizer but thought the pasta was a little too heavy (...and gloopy?) with the over-reduced/creamy sauce. The flavor was pretty good but for the price and how it was labelled as "lamb ragu", there was definitely a lack of protein. The service was alright - everyone was friendly and nice

The burger was pretty good for the size. The fries were the best thing on the menu! I enjoyed the ambiance it felt comforting and relaxing. The servers were very accommodating for a large group and answered any questions we had about the menu. Service was very fast which I liked! The drinks were decent for the price.

We celebrated our Valentine's Day dinner here, and it was absolutely delicious! We chose the special menu, where we selected two coursed from their curated options for a fixed price. $36 per person seemed like a great deal! We went with the fish and chips and a dessert, as well as the croquet and steak. Everything was cooked to perfection and full of flavor. The ambiance was great for setting the mood, with dim lighting and various seating arrangements, from cozy booths to a comfortable couch setup around a table. We had a last-minute change in our Valentine's Day plans, so we were worried about finding a great restaurant with reservations still available. However, we were pleasantly surprised with our choice and will definitely be back soon.

Adorable and cozy setting. Decor is welcoming and well thought out. Servers were great. Attentive and knew the menu. Our food arrived quickly and correct. We would go there again, happy we just found it on our walk to the theater.

Came by for drinks. The inside is cozy with wide chairs and a large bar. Our waitress was very attentive and helped my friend pick out a cocktail she loved. We had an espresso martini & one of their cocktails I can't remember the exact name but it was similar to an old fashioned. Both cocktails were great. would definitely be back for more drinks and to try some food.

This is inside an office building. The 2 lnd floor is office space and a sitting area for those who work here w IDs bc you can go there without access. You can only go on the escalator. It's a nice and comfortable casual place. The $16 burrata which was fresh with fig like balsamic vinaigrette had this homemade pear butter on bottom and it was so good and a sweet surprise! I wish it were on the side bc I liked spreading it on the break more easily. And it would have been nice to know where it was and once we found it it was so good! The $9 fries were crispy but not too much and and the garlic aioli sauce was good and put on the side. The butternut squash soup came in a cute bowl for $5 and was okay but I would say I would like more squash. But for $5 it was perfect as a sampler to enjoy it with the good and chewy bread, the sangria $8 during happy hour 4-6pm was amazing! No fruit inside but it felt like I had so many fruit pieces without the fruit. The flavors were so good. Just really yummy. The old fashioned was good too and strong and the cube is $2 extra so a total of $10 from $8 during happy hour, our waitress Autumn was super cute and sweet! Friendly and easy going.

Went after work with colleagues for a drink and sat at a high boy by the bar. Service was remarkably fast. We all came at different times but the server was always there when we needed her and brought drinks quickly. She easily had us pay separately with no fuss. Someone ordered fries and they were crispy and flavorful / wish I'd ordered my own!

Or youre dating someone who likes Anthony Bourdain and you've convinced her you're a foodie. I rarely if ever give a place 5 stars but I have to for this place. At a high level heres what made it stand out to me from other often mentioned places in chicago: the portions felt decent for the prices, the food was actually good, and the vibe truly did feel like a busy French bistro vs the well spaced large rooms of most other restaurants. It's not great if youre someone overstimulated easily, hard of hearing, or need elbow room. Or if youre looking for this uber luxe quiet formal vibe. But if you want to go somewhere where you feel like youre in a (extremely well known) hole in the wall this is it. Even though it was crowded one of my favorite parts was that the chefs or at least culinary dressed not front of house vibe dressed staff- were walking around as well so it was like you were really in the back of the kitchen secret table vibes. I also appreciated that a couple got engaged and they called attention to it without making us all cheer incredibly loudly. Me and the table next to me were like- who? what? They have good N/A champagne which I appreciated. As expected, the restaurant was packed, both inside and in the beautiful courtyard. Families filled the dining room, with children of all ages at about 90% of the tables. The team at Pomeroy has been so consistent and professional, that all of our dishes were delivered at a perfect and steady pace, and qualities remained high. Although we got a different server each time we went, they were all very welcoming, friendly, and attentive.  This time, Carlisle did such a wonderful job even though she was super busy, and she wished me a happy Mother's Day several times to make sure that my day was special.  I must mention that the friendly hostess greeted me with well wishes too, and said happy Mother's day again when we left. We had noticed that they had replaced the couch in front of the courtyard fireplace with more tables.  Who could blame them when they had so many patrons to seat.  However, the courtyard still looked gorgeous. Now on to the food and drinks.  I had a mocktail Bleu 75 ($13) that's my favorite, my husband had a glass of chardonnay ($17), our daughter had a Le Spritz Strawberry ($16).  We shared an order of Sea Scallops ($23) and a Warm Tomato Tarte ($19).  I had my go-to dish which was the Mediterranean Sea Bass ($38), I loved the seared skin that was crispy on the edges. Husband and Daughter each ordered a Spring Halibut ($92 for 2) from the Mother's Day menu.  We ordered 2 Strawberry Crème Brulee ($28 for 2), and I shared 1 with my husband.  I also had a cappuccino ($6). The check came up to $283.05 before tips (they add a 3% surcharge to each guest check, which may be removed upon request, we didn't).  As always, our dinner was very enjoyable and it's worth the money.  I had a very happy Mother's Day dinner, and it ended a wonderful weekend with high notes!  We will keep returning!

Now we realize that gnats or fruit flies oftentimes come with wine servings ... and the Pomeroy has a bunch of nice wines, but the gnats flying around your face all through dinner was not pleasant. We ordered drinks to start, and found it hit-or-miss. The Watermelon Margarita seemed tempting, so we tried one. It came with a big smear of Tajin powder on the rim, and was not appealing. Once again, we thought they should mention this kind of thing before it appears. They replaced the drink, but it kept us off on the wrong foot. All in all, they still put our good food. Our complaint was the seating, the gnats, and the Tajin powder ... all they had to do was ask for our preferences and these could have been avoided. But alas, they drop to four stars.
