I really enjoyed my meal here. I had just arrived in Montreal QC on a long haul flight, and…read morecouldn't check into my hotel yet and found this gem just around the corner. The matcha latte with almond milk really woke me up. And i was hungry and needing some vegan protein, since the airline food I got was mostly salad. Their braised tofu with a lovely optional creamy coriander sauce, and cooked with mixed vegetables absolutely hit the spot. It was served with warm fluffy basmati rice. The tofu serving was substantial, the braising sauce was very tasty, and the tofu was firm and chewy and filled with saucey flavor. The optional coriander creme sauce and fresh limes were a great complement to the braising sauce. Around me i could see servings of chili, their vegan poutine fries, and the chesesteak come out of the kitchen, and noticed other tables were also complementing their food. I finished with a tangy lemon tart slice and vegan whipped cream - very nice. The tables are fairly close together as it's in town center. They've got several two top tables. This was great for me as a lone traveler, as I easily struck up a conversation with the couple sat on the table next to me, and we had a great chat about how good the restaurant was and then everything under the sun. They were there to celebrate a birthday and the friendly owner who'd come over to talk to them a few times, sent them home with an extra dessert. A thoroughly enjoyable experience. I plan to go back during my week here and try some other dishes.

About 15 tables maybe. Very cozy, perhaps too cozy... I made reservation and I am glad I did as it was packed inside. I ordered the cheesesteak sandwich with the side salad. The sandwich was great, the "cheese" was a cashew style cheese. The "meat" was also perfectly marinated, 5/5. The side salad was leafy greens and pumpkin seeds. The vinegarette was balsamic, it was good but the salad did not have a lot of dressing on it, 4/5. Service was prompt and courteous. Prices are decent. Definitely recommend

My friends and I went for the buffet after practice and it was perfect. The food was warm and we ate enough for the price. My plate was around $17 and I was very full by the end of it. The food is warm and delicious. Some stuff was missing since it was very close to closing but that's ok. I do wish the dessert was included in the price (it's a separate weight fee). The restaurant is big (the buffet is upstairs) so there's enough seating if you go with a group. It's always nice to add another vegetarian/vegan restaurant to my list of recommendations!

It reminded me of cities in Europe where this is very common (think Scandinavia or Switzerland.) It wasn't fully vegan but there were plenty of vegan options and they were all well-labeled. As is usual for a buffet, it's hard to not go too 'all-in' when you first start loading up your plate. Everything will look good and you want to try it all. The staff was really helpful when we arrived, explaining any of the little details about how their particular service works. And there was A LOT of seating, so this is a good option if you have a somewhat larger group. My partner and I got a view overlooking the bottom floor and outside and it was perfect.

There are tables throughout the cafe as well as some couches and you'll see cat toys and beds spread throughout. This time, I ordered the yogurt which came with granola, honey and jam. My breakfast was yummy as well as a Diet Coke. My dad ordered a grilled cheese panini with salad and vinaigrette which was also good, and my step mom ordered La Pèle-méle, a curry seasoned cauliflower dish with chickpeas vegetables and pecans which was the best in my opinion. My step sister ordered the banana pudding which she loves. Personally, I think the food is a little expensive for the quality, but my family and I are happy to come in and support this longstanding business that cares for their kitties. There's a little shop inside with cat toys, accessories and food, so you can pick up anything you might need for your furry friend at home. The cats are very well acclimated to humans and will sometimes jump onto tables nearby you. They're friendly but most are very calm. Note that one of the rules is to not disturb any that are sleeping. Definitely stop by, give out some pets, and sign their visitor book at the front!

Montreal's most magical dining experience!…read more If you're looking for a reason to book a trip to Montreal, let me give you one: Tula. My husband and I visited during a recent trip to the city, and without question, it was the best meal we had -- and honestly, one of the most memorable dining experiences of our lives. From the moment you walk through the door, the space wraps you in warmth. The atmosphere is inviting, the decor puts you instantly at ease, and the staff greet you with the kind of genuine kindness that's increasingly rare. But it's Abhi and Renata (apologies if I've misspelled either name!) who truly make this place something extraordinary. These two are the heart and soul of Tula, and their passion for what they do radiates through every single aspect of the experience. We spent a few wonderful hours there, and I mean that -- the time just melted away. Renata sang for the entire restaurant, and her voice was absolutely stunning, a spontaneous and beautiful gift to everyone in the room. Abhi, in the most generous gesture, sat down and hand-wrote a list of vegan restaurant recommendations from around the globe for us to take home. These are people who love what they do and love the people they do it for. And then there's the food. Oh, the food. We started with an Indian taco special that set the tone perfectly, then moved on to the Tofu Achari Masala curry with chapati and the Dal Sambar with steamed rice -- both absolutely spectacular. We finished with a special pistachio cake dessert that was the perfect, dreamy ending to the meal. Every single dish tasted like it was made with genuine love and intention, because it was. This is vegan Indian cuisine at its very finest. I left Tula feeling something I didn't quite expect: greater faith in humanity. That might sound dramatic, but if you go -- and you absolutely must go, as soon as possible -- I think you'll understand exactly what I mean. Don't wait. Just go.

I don't have a gluten allergy, but my travel companion does, and we ended up coming here every morning during our stay in Montréal. The croissants are incredibly buttery (made with margarine, so they're dairy-free too), light, and perfectly flaky. We also tried a few other pastries like the chocolatine and danishes, which were just as delicious. They sell their pastries frozen as well, and I bought half a dozen croissants to bring back home. The family who runs Parc sans Gluten was warm and welcoming each time we visited. This place is a true gem and whether you're gluten-free or not, it's worth a stop.
