I love the location and atmosphere of this place. There is a variety of music, from DJ to live bands, it's always great. The age group is nice and everyone is there have a great time. I have only eaten there once and was impressed with their appetizers; buffalo wings, buffalo cauliflower, nachos and dirty fries. All tasty. The one area they can improve on is their bartending service. I either stock up on drinks and double fist as I dance or I have to drink in my car prior to walking in. If the drink service improved it would be better. read more

Menu is a little short and service is slow. The short ribs fell off the bone. The bacon garlic potatoes were cold. My wife tried the casadea's and spinach dip. She lost her appetite trying these dishes. The service was pretty good but hard to flag down read more

Awesome music and atmosphere, but the drinks suck ! I wish you guys opened both bars up so it would be less crowded in the front, I hope that you guys can work on your drinks and make them better for my future visits thank you . read more

Happy hour drinks? Great. Happy hour snacks? Avoid at all costs. We waited 20 mins to place the order then another 25 mins to get our food. One dish had a giant hair in it and was served on a chipped plate, and the other was soggy and cold. Sent one back and had the other remade. The remake came out lukewarm, but at this point we were an hour into the visit so we ate it anyway. To be fair everything tasted good, it was just old and/or not served warm. Not worth an hour and a half just for drinks and an appetizer, and an extremely disappointing experience to boot. Management was gracious, but the server was overwhelmed and not attentive in the least. Don't worry though, you can get some chips on the house for the hassle. read more

Not much has changed from my last review 4 years ago. Went for a friends bday celebration on a Sunday. They had mariachis (which were GREAT!!) but you had to pay $30 some dollars for the buffet (NO drinks included) in order to go in and let me tell you, the food was definitely not worth it and they only had about 3 servers for the whole restaurant and 1 bartender (she did a good job!). The place was filled mind you. Took forever to get somebody to clean our table off or get a drink. We had to go up to the bar in order to get drinks. I love the atmosphere but service and food really sucked, very disappointing! read more

They gave my friend a really hard time to get in because she has a passport. Then continued saying how he can't get the manager because he doesn't have anything to call him with. We watched him not ID people to get in but once he saw that passport he wouldn't let her in. read more

It's a Monday night and it's my birthday so we head to Copper Blues in Oxnard! We went for Happy Hour...they have great appetizer selections and while I don't drink...my buddies swear the Moscow Mules made with Copper Blues home made ginger beer...will kick you in the butt (I think in a good way)! The service was amazing and the place is spacious and gorgeous too! They have a cool line up of weekly events...a night for Karaoke, a night for live bands and Sundays it's salsa dancing (with lessons). So let's get the party started at COPPER BLUES! It's right next to Levity Live which is one of the coolest comedy venues I've ever been too! Have fun!!! read more

Couldn't wait for this place to open up again. Super Happy when I discovered it was serving drinks and had music again few weeks ago. The first night was challenging to get a beer and food. Had to flag down the bartender several times but eventually getting my beer and pizza from waitress. I have had better pizza but I wasn't there for food. The second night I only ordered drinks to avoid the challenges of food. But I waited over 30 minutes before realized they were only servicing drinks from front of bar. I went to front and waited, eventually I got my beer. They needed more staff for sure and they need to get down a faster routine for drink service. I wasn't going to get upset about that. They are really trying to get things going like it was before. Just need to be extra patient. They lost a lot since last opened in March 2020. So I am showing my support by paying for the drinks, to help this business getting back on its feet. If you want better food delivery and faster bar service, go Lazy Dog which was open since early this year. Have more patience for this place to get more staff and good routine down. I'm ok with service, I'm showing up to support this place. The Collection wasn't the same without this place. read more

Went to the mariachi brunch this morning for the first time. I was a little concerned because I read the reviews ahead of time. The first group was let in at 11;05. Not a huge delay. The food was fully stocked and the line for the food was never longer than 5 minutes. The food was good. Nothing spectacular but tasty. We ordered bottomless mimosas and the glass was not empty for longer than two minutes before our sweet server was there with a pitcher to refill it. read more

When it gets busy here, don't be surprised if a bartender doesn't attend to you within 20 minutes. My friend and I waited in front of the counter for at least 30 minutes to order a drink and not one bartender made eye contact with us. We just left and went somewhere else. Food is highly priced and small portioned. I'd only recommend coming here if you're looking to listen to live music. read more

I can deal with bad food, but bad service, not going to have it. Waitress was rude and very unprofessional. My friend asked for sour cream and this is what she got... when I asked the waitress if that's all the sour cream she would get, waitress paused and said "well yeah". On the other hand, their chicken nachos were good. read more

Loved this place! Will come again! NO MUSIC on Monday nights as advertised. Our dishes were excellent: Ahi mini tacos, super salad and meat lovers pizza. Parking in the back is really close. Patio has heaters if needed. Happy hour is 3-6 with $2 off beers, $1 off well, NO DISCOUNT on wine. "TIP OF THE DAY" Buy a bottle of wine at California Welcome Center (1 block away) and bring with you, NO Corkage fee! read more

This place is the worst restaurant and bar in Ventura County. Their food is horrible and the customer service is even worse. I will never EVER go into this place again. If I could give it negative stars I would. Minus five stars. Please dint waste your time. read more

If you're looking for a place that has live music and some patio ambiance then this is the place for you. They have live bands, place has plenty of seating and booths inside. there's an inside/outside bar, make sure to check out their happy hour menu! The outside patio has high chairs and tables, along with some lounge couches on both ends of the patio. This place is located in the collection so of course it's always busy, but nonetheless it's a hot spot and the drinks are pretty delicious. Also this place has TV's! read more

Friday Night, first timer. Impressed. Good vibe. Live band(La Bomba)?. First come seating. Outdoor and inside bar. Friendly staff. The three stars is for unfortunately my only 2 short ribs were extremely tough, chewy and fatty. Disappointing. What was very nice was is offered a glass of Black Stallion wine was bold, dry but not too dry enjoyed this glass of wine. read more

This place is cool, live band to enjoy some smooth Rock, and the the food was great. Ribery steak was my choice. IT WAS DELICIOUS! THE drinks are well poured and the service was on point! I coming back to this place. read more

Two stars because we were happy with our service. However, the food sucked. It was overpriced and very bland. We ordered two things that they came back and said they were out of an ingredient. At a place this size, this was baffling. Especially since one of them was a cocktail. Now that I think about it, not having the garlic for garlic chicken was just as baffling as the missing cocktail ingredient. *head scratch* I'm sure this place is fun if you're going out drinking or waiting for the comedy place next door. But be ready to shell out some $$. read more

Steven is the best bartender ! Excellent service every time I come here !:) I definitely recommend this place for a night out or a chill night for some drinks also Sunday brunch is fun as well ! read more

Overall the food was decent. Service is still just okay here. I don't recommend coming on their Salsa Sundays. The band is ridiculously loud and you can't even make out what they are saying when they talk. We came here for dinner and sat toward the back because of the music. Even then we had to sit in silence because of the loud music. We had to shout at our server to order and when that didn't work, we just pointed to what we wanted on the menu. In addition, the band is not that great. Their music isn't mixed properly. So if you want to chance coming on a Sunday, bring your ear plugs. read more

Violeta is fabulous. Every time we come in we ask for her. She always has good energy and clearly loves her job. Highly recommend Violeta as a server. Five stars and will definitely come back. Love the veggie bowl with Ahi and Ave Pineapple beer on tap. read more

I haven't been here for awhile as usually service or I should say the servers are always unpleasant but we decided to come out for Sunday brunch and were pleasantly surprised as our server was amazing she always had a big smile and was very attentive even though it was a very busy day! Thank you to JEN for a wonderful Sunday! Food was also very good and I was pleased with the selection read more

Awesome place to have drinks, good food and dance!! Totally recommend it for real fun!

The worst experience I ever had. I've worked in multiple fast pace bar environments and tonight when I informed them I should leave I was grabbed by my throat and choked until police showed up. I'm not one to cause issues because I use to be a regular and a then tonight happened if you yon here, don't expect any constitutional right read more

I would ignore a lot of the negative reviews on this page about this Copper Blues... because many are based on people who came for a birthday, or a romantic date night, and just couldn't figure out why a place that features LIVE ROCK BANDS is "too loud," or the food isn't five-star quality. This is a fun place, pure and simple. Nightly live bands, a cool and creative interior, a fun and delicious menu. The stage itself is a visual treat... imbedded in an actual working bar. It's ideal for outgoing people who love music and want an energetic evening. Think a small-scale House of Blues. We went on a Saturday night, for a getaway weekend. Everybody working there was friendly and attentive, food and drinks were served fairly quickly. They had a full group of servers, and all tables appeared to be getting enough attention. My girlfriend had the Ahi Sliders, I had the carnitas tacos, and both were delicious. The only food complaint were the fried pickles and fried Buffalo Cauliflower. Flavors were on-point (ESPECIALLY the fried cauliflower, which was addictive), but both were soggy, not crispy. Have the feeling they weren't allowed to rest after being removed from the deep fryer, and were plated immediately. We loved it so much we were back the next day for Sunday Brunch... a KILLER build-your-own BLOODY MARY BAR, and the food was once again delicious. Had a talented artist named Chili playing acoustic guitar, who was perfect for a Sunday Brunch vibe. If you're a local, or visiting, I'd recommend Copper Blues. read more

I have been to this establishment twice in the past few months. Once on a Sunday with friends who invited us to go there. We were caught by surprise to see them have live salsa music. We enjoyed our night with a few drinks and appetizers. The crowd was a good mixture of adults and some young adults as well. All having a good time. The place was packed which meant the people were loving it. Another night I went before catching a comedy show next door. We got there a little bit earlier than the visit before. The bartenders both times were happy to serve me and my guests. Different music both nights but a great vibes all around! There was a drunk guy bothering guests the second night around but the security was on point at making sure the gentlemen was escorted out. If you're looking for a place to enjoy some drinks with great company it won't let you down! read more

Poor costumer service. Food is not great either. We were sitting in the patio area and there is a door but customers are not supposed to use it to get in and out of the restaurant. There was a staff watching it, however, if any of staff/waiter/waitress know the person trying to get through the door, they let them. There were a group of people congregating around the fire pit. One of the ladies was leaning over towards the pit when someone (I'm assuming is a waiter there) just suddenly turn the fire pit on, without warning. Been here a couple of times and both times are bad experiences. read more

If I could give ZERO stars I would!!! Horrible service, worst bartenders. I was with a multi family party and opened a tab and when I tried closing out they tried to keep my card as I was leaving pretending they didn't have it only ordered two drinks and multiple food items which the food was very mediocre the fries weren't cooked all that way through and the Buffalo cauliflower wings were cold and it was back and forth with the server and bartender on who had my card. This is the second time I received the worst experience I will NOT be returning!!! read more

Walked in and sat next to the bar. Waited 40 mins to be greeted and nothing. Got up and left to the Cheesecake Factory.

Went to eat here mid afternoon. We were one of the only ones in the restaurant. Waited for service for 10 minutes and left to eat somewhere else. Let them know on the way out and they couldn't care less. read more

It would of been ZERO stars but I had to click at least one to get a comment. They have brunch with mimosas and bloody Mary's and marachi's every Sunday. So, had a big party of 25 show up up and as we r waiting outside for them to open bcause they do not take reservations. Someone comes out and says the marachi's cancelled. After a few more minutes, another worker comes out and says "oh and by the way we r not having our regular brunch." WTF! What business does that. I should of known better cause the service sucks, but I was told they had a good brunch. Don't waste your time. read more

The music here is a five star. Food is 1. Service is a 2. Had a Baileys coffee that had an unknown residue at the bottom which was gross(was probably curdled baileys). Next, I ordered a Cabernet and they brought jack and coke. Food was really bad. Nachos terrible, steak bites sad presentation and not that tasty, but well cooked. Fries weren't good either. Darkly lit which makes it hard to see the food which is part of the dining experience. Don't normally say this when the food is so bad and low quality but I will be back. Live music is hard to find and the booze was good enough, especially here in Oxnard that has next to nothing to choose from. read more

Zero stars for brunch this past Sunday. Had plans to meet up with friends there after looking at the Brunch menu online. Couldn't get anyone on the phone after trying for a week to make reservations. Arrived at 11:45 to find that they had a buffet and not the regular brunch menu. Nothing on the Facebook page eluded to this. A makeshift buffet line was set up at the stage bar. Which would have been all well and good except when the Mariachi stated the staff manning the stations couldn't hear a word I was saying and the bins weren't set up self serve. No plates, no one noticing there were no plates. I would have needed the bottomless mimosa to get through this meal! We opted out. read more

Went on Sunday right when It opened. It seemed unorganized for just opening. No chicken and waffles, bummer. Buffalo wings were cold and not good at all. $18 wasted for sure. Veggie bowl with chimichurri steak was ok. Didn't taste a lot of the chimichurri though. Had some fatty pieces, that were nasty. Not rushing back for the food. read more

My boyfriend, dog, and I visited at 3:30 pm on a beautiful Friday and sat on the patio. We started off with the champagne supernova which was similar to a mimosa (very good) and the welcome to the jungle. They accidentally gave us some berry drink instead of the welcome to the jungle. When we let them know, they let us keep the other beverage and made us the correct one as well. All three beverages were very good, and I saw several others on the menu that appealed to me also. The welcome to the jungle was my favorite, it was minty and had berry infused liquor. For food we got the nachos with carnitas, and the chicken and biscuits. Both were very good. If I ordered the nachos again I'd probably just get them without meat, the flavor of the carnitas was not quite what I was expecting. The chicken and biscuits were SO good. That is one of my favorite dishes as of late, and they did it very well. It was my boyfriend's birthday and the waitress brought us a full dessert to share; it was some kind of banana cake with vanilla ice cream and a chocolate sauce. It was on the lighter side, not super rich, which was nice. The only downside to our experience was that the service was a little slow, however we were there fairly early on a Friday and I think things were just slow in general. Also the drink mix up. The staff more than made up for these very small issues though. I definitely plan to go back, hopefully when there's some music playing. P.s. the patio was lovely and the decor of the restaurant was very well done. read more

Drove from Los Angeles to Oxnard last night to see The Instant Classics play at Copper Blues and I have to say, it was an amazing night. The band was sensational, their first set lasting over 2 hours and they had the crowd singing the whole time as the two female lead singers belted out tune after tune, the guitar player looked like he was having a great time during every song, the drummer kept a rock-steady beat, and the bass player kept the crowd fired up with banter between songs. No wonder they are one of the top wedding/cover bands in Arizona. I hope they play here in Southern CA every couple of months! One thing to note is that the stage is BEHIND the bar, and yet even during their set, it was still possible to talk to the person next to you (and order drinks) without having to scream over the band. The volume was PERFECT. The bartenders (thanks Victoria and Heather!) were very attentive and the food was great. We had the pepperoni pizza and the yakisoba bowl and loved both of them. DEFINITELY not your normal bar food by any stretch, this place knows how to cook! And their list of craft beers is great, not the same craft brews you see in bar after bar. It really is clear to see why this has been such a successful franchise. I saw the negative reviews from the soft opening and asked the bartender about them. Seems Copper Blues was giving away free food and they had far more people show up than intended, and some people, well, they'll just bitch and moan about not getting free food. Poor babies. Did you ever want someone to cut you a little slack when you were trying to do something nice for them and it didn't go quite as planned? I would suggest you try going back and give it another try...or better yet, keep your whining at home, because the place was packed all night last night and your absence created no void. I'm hoping Copper Blues finds a place in Los Angeles, maybe at LA Live, because a couple of those places are just tired and mailing it in. If they do, I'll be there! read more

This place has a great ambiance it's very beautiful and creative what they done with the place. I had hailey as our waiter she was nice and polite, came in for lunch and it was a only a few people customers there. So my mom had coffee and didn't even bring a spoon to stir for her cream & sugar. She finally took out order she recommended the quesadilla which was really delicious. I order mac n cheese, she ask if I wanted to add bacon etc. I said no thank you,and asked bout the soup of they day. I also ordered soup too. Our food finally came and she brought my soup and everyone else's food but I was just waiting on my mac n cheese. I thought maybe it needed more time so I didn't even bother asking bout it. Again they didn't give me a spoon for my soup n had to hunt them down. I finished my soup n asked bout my mac n cheese. She said oh did you wanted mac n cheese too? I was confused thinking you even asked me if I wanted to add bacon. Anyways the mac n cheese came n I took one bite... disgusting!! My mom didn't like her food on top of that. The reason for 2 stars is hailey was sweet and ambience was nice but service sucks along with food. read more

I really enjoyed my self here. I would definitely go again. My first time at this place.

Got here on Saturday at 11:00 when they open and they were still putting chairs down, setting up the bar and didn't even have the Bloody Mary bar ready till after 11:30. Just seemed really disorganized. Gave us quite a bit of time with the menu, but when you pick out an item (chicken & waffles), of course they don't have it. Food was sub-par at best (chicken wings are no bueno). Overall keep being disappointed in this place. read more
