There are three section-small dog, large dog & water. Be aware though-the small dog area gets a little swampy too when it rains a lot. All three sections are quite large and grassy (not muddy). There are plenty of poop bag stations, trash cans, water fountains and shady areas. The other pets and pet parents have always been wonderful and friendly. We have been to quite a few dog parks in the DFW area since moving here, and this is my favorite by far (and the dogs love it too). Note: To get to the dog park area, turn where the Carrollton Animal Shelter is-the dog park section is on the right just past the shelter.

Apparently people have flocked from there to come to McInnish Park and I'm sad to say, I'm one of those people. McInnish Park doesn't come up right away in searches when you're looking for dog parks so that's why it's a hidden gem. They have a good amount of parking and the standard separate sections for big and small dogs. But wait for.....there's a THIRD section.....ohhhh....ahhhhh.....ohhhhh! The third section is welcome to all pups and features a pond/lake/watering hole for your dogs to swim and play in! I have a six month old pup and while he's been in the water before, really had no idea that he would jump right in. Wrong I was. He could not get enough of the water and sadly I had to pay for it later while attempting to clean him off. The space is nice and heavily shaded so perfect for day time. You have your standard crazy dog people who like to camp out in the small dog section with camping chairs, coolers and cliques so be aware of that. Personally, I would rather socialize with the four legged friends.

They said it was so nice to run around and play without having to wait for the slides or zip line! Restrooms are still open and soap dispensers have soap, good news. Concessions are usually available and the popcorn is pretty good! Always a lot of activity and fun way to spend an afternoon.

At first, I didn't think there was much to the park until I kept driving further into the locale. There were at least two baseball diamonds that I could discern. Then there was a pavilion of sorts located next to a children's playground. At a little bit of a hike, there was a piece of outdoor art, a scupture, that I really enjoyed reading about. Overall, a great place to hang out while enjoying nature. Come check it out!

As far as city of Fort Worth fields go, this is the pinnacle. HUGE stadium seating, beautifully…read moremanicured grass infield and outfield, and the dirt parts were actually dirt and not sand. Dugout bigger than MLB, the only thing not 100% perfect was the mound, which for Nov 13th is not abnormal. This field even has a scoreboard, however I'm not sure who is allowed to operate it or how you get the controls.

The playground is not on par with some of the others in Frisco parks, but is nice and new. There is also a nice bathroom right next to the playground area. It is near some large powerlines but not that close. There is also a dog park nearby. It is kind of tucked away and not very crowded so let's keep it that way!
