Seriously, not enough baseball fields to rent in city, let kickball play in a small grassy field. Anyway, the infield is also very sandy, and the grass is not often mowed. But it is easy to access from I20 and Winscott, or via Vickery.

He also said it has just been completed and since not many people know it's ready it isn't as crowded as White's Branch Park. There is a tennis court, baseball field, basketball court, play equipment and splash pad (open Memorial Day to Labor Day, everyday except Wednesday starting at 10am). My kiddo was so excited to play today and no one else was here, so fun. I know by writing this review it'll attract more kids but that's okay, there's plenty of room for everyone to enjoy this space :)

Plus, it's located next to the Haltom City Rec Center so you have access to indoor basketball courts (though I'm not sure if you have to be a resident to use them). This park is almost perfect, till you see some areas that were either abandoned projects or vandalized equipment. But overall, the rest of the park is great.

There are swings, multiple slides, and an assortment of bridges and ropes to climb on. The best part are the expansive shade canopies, which cover the majority of the structure and allow for play in both sun and rain (although, on a rainy morning like this morning, they don't prevent the kids from getting wet or the structure from being slippery. But hey, this just adds to the fun!). Bark ground covering. The one downside here is that the spectator benches are outside of the canopy, away from any trees, and in full sun. I'm thankful they covered the play area, but why no love for the mamas on the sidelines? Not far from the playground there is a large pavilion and multiple covered picnic tables. They aren't right next to the playground like the benches are, but they're close enough to still be within earshot of the kids. It's a fine solution for hot, sunny days. The park also has volleyball courts, baseball fields, and a nice bathroom with plenty of stalls.

All of us peeps that workout with CG no longer carry our purses or wallets just our DL for several theft happening all over us. I had a terrible experience at the tennis courts today when a teenager--approximately 13 years…read moreold--rode his black bicycle right onto the courts, completely disregarding the fact that people were playing tennis. He stayed there for a long time, deliberately weaving back and forth between the families and players. When he was told that there were rules and that riding bicycles inside the tennis courts was not permitted, he began hurling insults and laughing, declaring that he would stay right where he was and that no one could tell him otherwise. He mocked us, pointing out that there was no security or manager present in the park. The families and players were ultimately forced to leave. It is unbelievable that one cannot use the park facilities without these future delinquents causing trouble! Is there a manager available at the park or there a contact number to report these incidents?

I didn't go for a game, just wandered through, but even without a crowd it had that big Texas energy. You can feel the history in the bones of the place--like it's still whispering old Rangers games to itself while gearing up for a rugby scrum or high school football showdown. The architecture is part ballpark, part modern facelift, and part "we're figuring it out as we go." I kind of loved it. It was quiet the day I visited, but the views were wide open and the breeze rolled through like it had season tickets. From the upper deck, you can see the whole Arlington entertainment zone laid out like a buffet--Texas Live!, AT&T Stadium, all of it. Choctaw might not be the headliner anymore, but it's still in the show--and it's got charm, history, and a little grit left in the stands.

It's been around for a while, the brick ball park is becoming a thing of the past. When the Rangers moved across the street, I was excited to know that they weren't taking this one down. It's a beautifully aged ball park. One memory is of being in the park for opening day of the Rangers where they set a record for the coldest opening day for the Rangers at 31 degrees. It was cold, but it was fun. The vendors are plentiful and the views are great. Walking up top, you can look over the brick wall and see across the area, it's a beautiful view. The baseballs out front are a great touch. A lot the outside accessible areas are becoming restaurants, stores, and offices. It's still a beautiful ball park.
