Got scammed? $14 nachos + $10 to add a few pieces of shrimp?! Who knew? We didn't! It was listed as $24 for nachos and not separated on the bill, we had to ask and the waiter nonchalantly said that shrimp was $10 extra insane. Not on the menu and not informed. the beef was the worst beef I've ever had, nachos were good -$10 read more

A restaurant in nyc that serves food 24 hours a day! Yay! We came here last night late and hungry, but because it was so late we shared an appetizer and the limo saltado. I've had limo saltado before so I know how good it is, but they made theirs with short rib which was soooo so flavorful!!! It was a little salty but other than that it tasted so good. The meat was super tender and the flavors mixed together well. We also ordered the oxtail empanadas. These were good also but I barely tasted the oxtail and mainly tasted sweet plantain. The restaurant is cute and has a diner feel. Service was good but at the end our waiter didn't come back for a while so we were there for longer than expected. read more

Wow, for a restaurant that is run 24 hours a day, I was super surprised at the high quality food options here. We ordered the Lomo Saltadao, Ropa Vieja, and brussels sprouts to share and found everything to be hearty and delicious. Getting seated was really easy on a weekday night for us and service was fast and friendly. Would definitely love to come here in the early morning sometime after some drinks to see the reasoning for 24 hour service! read more

Food was amazing and hot. Service on New Year Eve was trash. They stuck us by the door... freezing and definitely hiding. They forgot about US. Appetizers took a 1/2 hr to order. No water .. also no grapes.. it took for the couple next to us to say to the waiter did you forget about them??? And we still didn't get them. Champagne was giving to everyone but us. Once again we had to ask but everyone else was giving with a smile. It was very uncomfortable and concerning why we weren't served properly. Bathroom was a bit messy I asked if they could tidy up, the gentleman just looked at me. Ambiance in the restaurant was beautiful they set it up pretty nice. read more

This is a beautiful restaurant inside and out. I chose the outside seating because I wanted some scenery with my meal. For appetizers, I ordered the Oxtail Empanadas. This Oxtail empanada was so juicy that I wanted to order a second serving. The crust was so sweet that it complimented the peppery flavor of the beef. This appetizer alone is worth five stars. However, my main course meal was not so tasty. I ordered the Rabo Encendido and after my first fork full I opted out of another bite. The meat was gamey, and not very flavorful. When I paired it with the fufu it was very bland and hard to chew. The two combined created an unpleasant texture that made it hard to swallow. However, I am willing to come back and try a different meal or order two of the oxtail empanadas because they were that good! read more

One of my favorite restaurants in this city. Walked past on a late night after a concert (2am) and was happy to have a meal at that hour. Recently went back and had the Hash de Costilla while my partner had the Pepito (I think?) with yuca fries. I've been thinking about the tenderness of the short ribs in that hash ever since. The funniest moment- I asked for some kind of hot sauce to add some heat to the hash, and the look on the staff's face told me everything I needed to know LOL!! Their house-made hot sauce is so delicious and HOT. I can handle it, but my poor partner started choking so just a heads up! read more

I can't believe a place like this is 24/7! The interior is so vibrant with a full bar. Our waiter was the best, and the food and drinks did not miss at all! We ordered the Lomo asaltado (amazing), the Cuban sandwich (so so good), the Mac and chicharron, and the key lemon pie. It was a bit tart which is the only way this pie should be made as the merengue balanced it out and made the flavors pop in your mouth. I am DEFINITELY coming back- they have so many menu options and I'd like to try breakfast next time! read more

Couldn't leave the city without having Coppelia again! Came in around 9pm on a Tuesday and it was busy but service and everything was still great! I had the steak with chimichurri which was delightful and perfectly cooked (for a medium rare girly) and was huge omg! The people there are so nice and accommodating. I really have yet to have a bad time here. It is pricy for sure but for everything else that comes with it, I might even say its a steal. read more

Quaint cuban restaurant in the Chelsea neighborhood. The service was wonderful from the time we walked in and our order came out very quickly! I ordered the huevos rancheros which I can describe as amazing, comforting, and nostalgic yet somehow modern. The salsa on my plate was fantastic, the tostada that the eggs sat on over a bed of rice and beans was perfectly crispy and delicious. It's probably my fifth time coming to this restaurant because Rihanna's favorite dish is the best in all of New York! The service is great, the vibe is vibin' and the dessert is decadent. I would not recommend the chocolate wings, but the chocolate cake. I love this place and will return time and time again! read more

A 24hr Cuban Diner! COUNT ME IN! This wonderful gem is located in the middle of West Village! It's a bustling diner, with many seats, booths, and a bar. I was worried that it was going to be very loud on a Saturday night, but it really wasn't bad at all! I could still have my convo and listen to the great music! As for the food: 1. Milanesa torta: Amazing! So much food! 2. Chicken Fried Steak: Great! But they found too many pieces of bone. 3. Fish Tacos + Fries: I ordered something on the appetizer menu as my full meal! This was DELICIOUS! I just wish it was bigger tacos, they were pretty small pieces, but still so worth it! Fries are good as well! I will definitely be back! I've come here late-night with some friends after going to a dance event up the street-- so you know we had appetites! oh my good God their "Mac & Chicharron" is out of this world Good! It's mac & cheese with cheese atop the gooey deliciousness! 10 out of 5, would recommend it twice! The service was OK. It was super busy, but they did of mess up 2 out of my 8 friends' orders that night. Still, worth it for the mac & cheese. I also love that it's 24 hours for both drinks AND food! read more

Five Stars for a Village location Cuban place - 4 stars if compared to uptown more authentic Cuban or Dominican places. Everything we had was good and authentic: the cubano had been "pressed" to grill, and had enough pickles (an essential element for me). The yucca fries were fine. Make sure to ask for extra garlic sauce for both. The cafe con leche was also spot on - a bit too thick and slightly bitter but in an addictive way. Everyone looked very happy with their choices. What's not to love? Found this place late at night looking for celebratory desserts, ended up ordering some food and drinks and it all exceeded our expectations tremendously. We did end up ordering the cheesecake and pastel de chocolate for dessert and they were to die for. Staff sang happy birthday to my friend :) The decor and vibe inside seems meticulously curated, cozy and artsy, while remaining organized and clean. Our server Michael was incredibly friendly, had quick service and made us very comfortable. I love that it's open 24 hours, I can imagine the breakfast menu being just as good. Late Night Cravings! A friend and I came here on a Thursday close to Midnight. As soon as we walked in we were seated and greeted. There were only a few tables empty and by the time we placed our order it was a packed house. Our waiter come over shortly to take our order. For my cocktail I went with the Matador (essentially a spicy margarita). Spicy it was, strong it was not. For my meal I had the Salmon with purple mash.... It was sooooo good! Salmon was cooked medium as requested and the purple mash was bomb! I should've took a before and after picture of my plate LOL. Coppelia is a solid choice for all of your Cuban food cravings. City was incredibly busy and lucky for us this place was open 24hrs and had great service and food that hit the spot for a late nite craving! We stopped in on a Saturday nite around 11pm , it was super busy but we were seated within 5 minutes so i wasn't complaining at all haha. We started with Reina Pepiada , cold filling made of shredded chicken, mayo & avocado with a side of spicy fries. Let must just say this was really good and filling, and the fries were extra spicy which i loved! We also got the Ropa Vieja, which is slow cooked shredded beef braised in tomato salsa, onions, peppers, tomatoes, rice and beans. The dish had great flavor and the meat was very tender and cooked perfectly. Really enjoyed our late nite dinner here and the vibe is great too ! If you're in the area give them a try just be sure to keep in mind it gets busy but it's worth it ! read more

We ended up here one night after having a terrible experience being seated at a restaurant down the street. Being down south Florida I have high standards for Cuban food. I was skeptical, but we loved the vibes and gave it a try. We sat at the bar with the friendliest bar tenders and had the yummiest Micheladas. We ordered the steak and frites and the Churrasco and let me tell you, we would fly back to New York just for this meal! It was phenomenal, a 10/10. We ate every bite and wanted to lick the plates clean. While we were there, there was an unruly customer was being escorted out. He caused a scene, tossed drinks on customers, but their security took care of it immediately and waited for the police to arrive. The owner walked around and checked on everyone, which we greatly appreciated. I couldn't recommend this place enough. We will definitely be back next time we visit! read more

The food was good. However, it wasn't really authentic Cuban. It had a whole bunch of Mexican options which was really confusing. The service was mid. We kept getting different servers, the first server we had was a little nervous over a Pitcher of Mimosa. He was nice but really nervous for some reason. Don't think I'll come back. Ordered the churrasco and the steak was very tender and flavorful. The dish came with rice and maduros so it gets you very full! I went on a weeknight and there was no wait. Service is fast. Walk-in only restaurant. They do not take reservations. However, walked in at 6:15 on a Tuesday and was seated immediately, so not bad at all. The space is extremely tight and the tables are very close together. I almost got stuck in between two tables when I was trying to get to my seat. Got a mango cocktail and a Cubano. Both were delicious. The cubano's bread was super crispy, which was great. The serving at this place is also huge. Nice spot Cuban diner open 24/7. The waiter was super friendly and accommodating but we always had to track him down via busboy or food runner. I mean it was a bit ridiculous as he had like six tables in the section, but was never around. On to the food. Guacamole was delicious. They give you an assortment of chips and plantain chips, which was a nice bonus. The garlic shrimp, and the chicken flauta were both a little little dry in my opinion. I would pass next time. For lunch I had the flank steak torta sandwich with fresh cheese and avocado. It was delicious spot on. I would definitely get it again. My friends both got a chicken dish over rice, which they both loved. If in the area I would definitely go back I would just sit in another section or at the bar counter. read more

I've wanted to try Coppelia for some time now, sister to Cuba and Toloache; two restaurants that I adore and are go tos for Cuban food. I wanted a warm lunch today due to a really cold fall day. Coppelia offers everything from lechon, baked chicken, desayuno all day..to just about everything a Cuban kitchen can produce. I ordered the Chicken soup, yucca fries and arroz con frijoles negros. The delivery was a little late and the sweat of the yucca fries went through delivery bag, otherwise , everything was packaged securely. Here's what my tastebuds went through: 1. Yucca fries: delicious, just a tad hard but yucca is a bit denser than regular potatoes, I think. The mojo sauce was great and tangy for dipping. 2. Chicken soup: absolutely delicious, abundant chicken, potatoes, noodles, carrots and a hint of cilantro. The broth was delicious and piping hot. Perfect for a cold day. 3. Rice and black beans: I was so full from soup and fries that I saved it for a meal tomorrow. I know portions vary from restaurant to restaurant. However, $6 for rice and beans is a steal and the portion is abundant. Compared to other places in Soho where a side of rice is $6 and side of beans is $6. I plan to visit Coppelia in person for a future meal due to being near Village Vanguard. So far, if you work near 14th Street definitely visit them. Spontaneous date night and wanted to try out something new. Found this place which we have driven by forever. It had a cute intimate feeling when walked in and felt homey. Waiter was nice and answered all of my wife's questions. We did get the guacamole with the chips and very very smooth and tasty especially with the plantain chips and freshly made potato chips. I had the mofongo (because I'm a sucker for mofongo) with beef ribs and wow the combination was soooooo tasty to the point I was licking my lips and fingers for more. My wife ordered the churrasco with Moro rice and sweet plantains and she enjoyed the beef and was surprised that she ate it all because it was large - testament for how well it was prepared. I also had the spicy fries and oh yeah those were real good with the right amount of spiciness. Check it out for a chilled evening with filling good food. read more

Established in 2011.

In the heart of Havana is the ice cream parlor Coppelia, which over the years has become a key gathering spot for locals and tourists. Meet the Business Owner: Julian M.

Julian Medina, chef-owner of Toloache, Yerba Buena, and Yerba Buena Perry, has been creating refined Latin cuisine for over fifteen years. After graduating from the French Culinary Institute in 1999, Julian sought to expand his professional cooking experience beyond Mexican and French cuisine by becoming the Executive Chef of SushiSamba, a popular Japanese-South American restaurant in New York City. Large enough to share and I enjoyed the drizzled sweet sauce and whole olives. Our entrees were: Palomilla Steak Platter (thin cut sirloin steak) and the Ropa Vieja (shredded flank steak). Both dishes were accompanied by white rice and we chose black beans and a side salad. This was the first time that I've seen Palomilla Steak presented totally cut into strips and it was a welcomed sight. The Ropa Vieja was perfectly seasoned and the amount of meat was thoroughly enjoyed. I capped off the meal with a Cortadito (A cortado is a Spanish coffee beverage consisting of equal parts espresso and warm, lightly steamed milk. The name comes from the Spanish verb cortar (to cut), meaning the milk "cuts" the acidity and intensity of the espresso. I appreciated the cookie on the side and each sip was amazing. Havana Central has various choices, to accommodate your time of day: lunch specials, a pre-theater menu, and a Happy Hour.
