Mr. Diaz was a delight to speak with. He explained exactly how he would repair the turntable. BTW, his explanation demonstrated a detailed knowledge of the turntable design, engineering and innards. His fee structure was reasonable. I authorized the work which was done in the forecast time frame. Took the turntable home and it has been working LIKE NEW for more than a year. Yesterday, I contact Mr. Diaz by email to ask about potential repair of a Super Audio CD player. He responded promptly and advised that the machine is too old to repair because of a lack of parts. Instead of "blowing smoke," he HONESTLY suggested that, if I wanted to replace the player with the same model, that I look on eBay. He is an HONEST, ethical, businessman. He is knowledgeable and efficient. I would not hesitate to bring other equipment to him for repair.

One of my 20' XLR microphone cables failed while I was doing a remote recording session...scratches and crackling from a short circuit. I brought the cable to Elman for repair. He found the problem and fixed it. The "extra mile" was his applying heat shrink to the soldered leads which has two benefits: - stabilizes the leads against strain, and, should they get pulled again, prevents them from touching and should prevent electrical short circuiting. This attention to detail is all too unusual in today's marketplace. Kudos to Elman.

Once noticing that I had accidentally plugged the TV straight into the outlet on the wall vs. into the surge protector right next to it, I was convinced that it was due to a power surge from one of the recent thunderstorms that we had, and I was convinced that the power module was burnt out. After doing a little research, I decided to call Nova Service Center. The gentleman who answered, Mehdi, was very courteous and asked me what had happened and was very quick to provide possible dates when he could come over to check out the tv, so it was very easy to make an appointment, which we scheduled for the next day (Saturday). When he arrived, Mehdi was very friendly and definitely seemed very knowledgeable about smart TVs and electronics in general. He took the back cover off the TV and literally within less than 10 mins was able to decipher the problem. It wasn't that the power module, or worse, the mother board, had burnt up, but rather some loose connections within the power module. All he needed to do was to resolder a couple of the points. Add another 15 mins of work and voila! The TV was back on. Mind you, he didn't even scratch the back panel while removing it, which he first noted as something which could happen due to the way the back was held in place! The best part was the price. Nova Service Center charges $68 to come out and investigate a problem, but if you end up going with their services, they incorporate that initial consultation cost into the final cost of the service; i.e., it's not $68 for checking it out PLUS $x for fixing something. The final cost was $125, well worth it; AND, Mehdi took $20 off for the coupon that I had printed from their website. With all that said, I would highly recommend Nova Service Center for all your electronics needs. Just ask for Mehdi and he'll take excellent care of you!

They said yes - Speaker brought in and 69.00 Diagnostic Fee paid - the were very efficient in determining My amplifier component was Blown -- They said I would need to pay for the replacement component up front and I authorized payment for "new amp " via credit card via textual and phone communication . I specifically told the Manager that I wanted Electrovoice OEM replacement components- They said no problem and speaker would be ready in approx 2 weeks . Segway -- 3 months later - they said delay was that they Did not have a Technician on Staff and job was on hold till they could find a replacement technician. I became somewhat suspicious when the manager kept trying to sell me on idea of getting a custom replacement speaker -- Told him , No Thank you sir-- Then he tells me That the future for investing was Cryptocurrency and they had a on site Bitcoin Vending Machine - that worked by digital payment . I told him I was Not interested and we needed to focus on the task of repairing my speaker. I had made multiple calls over the summer to check on the status . The Manager would not return my calls by text nor cellphone conversation. However, when I utilized someone else's phone with a different # , he would pick up the phone and answer promptly . I went there to see WTF was going on . He assured me that it was a labor issue . He needed more time. Long story short - he has some ? " Technician" "complete the repair" . I go to pick it up and notice that there is an aftermarket Brand Amp ... I said this was not what we agreed on . He stated when the initial tech ordered replacement OEM amp - it did not fit I said to him- that he did not order the correct Mfg OEM Why ? Because I personally called Electro voice in Greer SC and gave them the serial number and part numbers on back of matching speaker. They verified they had exact replacement and also offer a factory revamp and repair of my unit . I thought one stop connect would be a faster and effective solution I was totally Fooled by this Con artist -- I now have a speaker with incorrect bootleg part that still doesn't function properly -- I called to ask for refund and I would return the Bootleg amp . The manager has now moved the business ( He said that something unforeseen had occurred and they were in the process of relocating to Herndon). He has stood me up with more excuses beyond reasonable and professional consideration I have been more than patient - trying to give the guy a break ( that was my Mistake ) He refuses to answer my call . I would like notify the Police but this is a Civil Matter -- I would not let these people change a light bulb in my flashlight -- This Business is unethical , unprofessional and totally inept . Guess I will resume our discussions in small Claims Court -- Bottom Line : Stay Away And I do not believe Yelp and its reviews as well .
