Nitro Cold Brew

Came in to the Cooper for a quick afternoon of studying, and was so happy with my experience. The ambiance post- construction is amazing and Charleston-esque. The food and drinks are unique and creative, and I would absolutely recommend the nitro cold brew. Sophie was my barista and server, and she was so helpful and kind. She also made me a fantastic espresso! Thanks sophie!!

There's a comprehensive cocktail menu and the French 75ish and the tiramisu martini were both delicious ($18 each). The prices are super comparable with other bars downtown. They have a full bar if you'd like a standard cocktail or any other creation I'm sure they could make it. Our server was great and very attentive. The kitchen stopped serving food at 10pm which I wish we had been told when we came in because I tried to order fries at 10:04 and was told I couldn't. Which I understand I just wish I had known. The place is pretty small and dark and very quiet so the perfect place for a calm nightcap.

I still drank it but it was a little sour than what I was expecting compared to what was described. I believe it was the tequila drink. I would go back to this place and highly recommend this place because the vibes were awesome. This place is great for people looking for a more quiet and sit down place. This place would also be great for date night. Definitely should be a place people should try if they're in Charleston!

The bar alone spans the length of the dining room. Make sure to order the coffee ~ the SC roaster is called Mozza ~ based In Spartanburg SC. Church and Union is in a wonderful location as welll~ just across from the open air city market and steps from the waterfront. The Servers are friendly and efficient and aim to please. Note* ~ this restaurant does tack on a kitchen fee....so be prepared ~ in my case : $41.00 bill+ $1.80 KF.

The inside is beautiful. I'm glad we got sit on the side with the huge ceilings and enormous stained glass. Our bartender was fantastic and very friendly. We sat at the bar because we had no reservations. We both ordered the fried chicken sandwich - it was a brunch menu for the Labor Day holiday. I was so hungry I forgot to take a picture of the food, but it was good. The chicken was a boneless chicken thigh, the batter was good, and the home fries were even better. I also had a mimosa (because it was 5'o clock somewhere) and my partner had a latte which was tasty and came with a small pirouline cookie. Beautiful surroundings right across from the Market.

You get a new glass with each new pour. You choose which wine you'd like & how much you'd like. I appreciated that I could do tastings of various wines. The QR code gave tasting notes, so I could choose what I might want from there. The food was also delicious. The meatball had a cinnamon after taste which was interesting. The crostinis were super tasty with the goat cheese, balsamic reduction, and strawberries.

The wait staff was not very welcoming, which definitely impacted the overall experience. When visiting a restaurant, especially one with such a great reputation, I expect to feel welcomed and valued as a guest. I was also disappointed by the inconsistency in the posted hours. The hours listed on the restaurant's website differed from the hours shown on Google, which can be very confusing when you're trying to plan your visit. Another concern was the payment experience. The restaurant placed two separate holds on my account--one for $1 and another for over $100. I understand that temporary authorization holds can sometimes occur, but having two separate holds was unexpected and added to an already disappointing experience. Hopefully, this was just an off experience, but based on my visit, I would hesitate to return.

First, we came a little early just to check out the scene and the managers/hosting staff were so kind and encouraging us to sit and relax at the bar before our table was ready. The bar had live music, the bartenders were fast and funny, and the drinks were Fantastic! We laughed and and had fun before the host came and Brigid to our table. Our waiter was enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the menu, knew and acknowledged that we were celebrating our anniversary, and made sure to keep watch and check in throughout our time. The managers were all walking around and even gave us complimentary champagne and dessert to celebrate with us. So so fun and we were overjoyed! Outside of the service and ambiance, the food was top tier. My husband got the shrimp and grits (loved it) and I got one of their steak specials (kept me quiet as I dug in). We shared the okra, lobster Mac and cheese. So so so good. My pictures do not do anything justice because I definitely was more worried about digging in than taking pictures but we will definitely be back again and perhaps I'll get a better picture!

The service was excellent -- polished, warm, and confidently attentive without ever feeling overdone. They know how to make a night feel special. And let me just say: the wine selection was excellent. Thoughtful pours, great bottles, and spot‑on pairing guidance. It felt curated, not crowded. Our table went in on a mix of dishes, and every single one delivered: * Waldorf salad -- crisp, bright, and beautifully balanced * Cioppino -- rich, aromatic, and full of tender seafood * Elevated swordfish -- perfectly cooked with that refined, coastal flair * Mussels -- tender, fragrant, and deeply seasoned * Filet mignon -- melt‑in‑your‑mouth and plated like a little moment High Cotton blends Southern charm with fine‑dining finesse, and it shows in every detail. My group left happy, impressed, and already planning the next visit. Charleston has plenty of great restaurants -- but High Cotton knows how to make you feel like you chose the right one.

Brought my daughter and her friends here to celebrate her upcoming wedding and the experience was absolutely wonderful. Eric is incredibly knowledgable about wine, made the entire experience both educational and fun. Even the girls in the group who don't really drink wine ended up having a great time and created a wine blend that they truly enjoyed! Plenty of wine to taste and enjoy while you are creating your personal blend. You leave the class with a custom made bottle that you created with a personalized label that you designed (need to send the label design a few days before your class and they have it printed and ready for your bottle the day of the class). Go early and enjoy the beautiful hotel and art gallery before your class begins. This is a must do experience if you are in Charleston, you won't regret it.
