I had been to Cool Heads a time or two, but ever time we thought it was mediocre service, and you want to give them the benefit of the doubt so you try again. Well, after the last time we visited, we will NEVER go there again. My husband took our twins and himself to get haircuts for the boys' birthday that was coming up. One twin was serviced by one person, and the other twin + dad were serviced by another person. After my husband got his hair cut, he questioned the lady about why he kept getting the feeling of being cut on the back of his neck, and she just blew him off by telling him that she had a new blade. I wish he had not allowed our son to get service from her after that experience, but I know in the moment you don't react quickly enough. She ended up giving him repeat cuts all along the back of his neck. And he came to the car holding back tears. He said that he told her that it was hurting, but she kept telling them that she just had a new blade. We had errands to run afterwards, but had to go back home so he can get medical care for the cuts, as they were stinging and burning. I have messaged them, and never heard back. For anyone who has a reserved child or husband who would be too shy to speak up in the moment, please reframe from going there. They will make excuses for harming you. You should NEVER be cut repeatedly while getting a hair cut, ever! For the cost of service, you would think you are getting experts in the field. read more

Sarah was fantastic. I was working in the area, pressed for time. She sat me down within 5 minutes of arriving. Took care of all the little details that one looks for in a quality service; eyebrow trim, any hair around the ear, listened to me when I told her I have very sensitive neck skin. Buzz cut and beard trim. My bears feeling much healthier and she gave me some tips on how to fill in any patchy area. Solid barber. Will definitely go back. I get it that they close in 30 minutes, but is it too much to ask to stay past time a little? And I would have tipped well knowing I kept her a little late. Sarah is a miracle worker. We first visited Coolheads HV in January when our middle son cut his bangs. Sarah did an awesome job fixing it. Last week our youngest son decided he needed a haircut, too. He got it so short we weren't sure if it was fixable. Sarah didn't shy away from the challenge and it looks so good! I'm still a little shocked that she was able to salvage anything. She is warm and welcoming and made my kids feel comfortable. Andy has cut our other son's hair a couple of times, and we wouldn't hesitate to schedule with her either! Had very a peculiar experience with this place today. Let me first preface that this was in no way related to the services provided by Marcus, he did a great job and was a pleasure to work with. I called yesterday and made an appointment to have a bad haircut corrected for my 15 year old son, I wanted to pamper the poor kid after he was extremely upset with the service he received from another salon and I booked him for the works, their Cool Head service. Upon check in, for his appointment, Marcus greeted us and we began talking with him, during this interaction, the manager, who I later found out was named Sherri, came over and I over heard her whisper to Marcus "haircut only", I said excuse me, she just gave me some pathetic look and walked away... I was like ok, maybe I misheard. So we followed Marcus back and began discussing how to fix my sons haircut, he then confirmed she said haircut only, I pressed him on it and was like whatever, presuming it still included all of the services that were included in their basic service... So I walked back to the front waiting area and got a nasty look again from the Manager as I walked past her station. Unfortunately, to my dismay, upon finishing the services, it was literally haircut only, I thought their most basic service included a cut, wash and style, but I guess I was wrong. I mentioned to Marcus my displeasure with not being provided the service level we requested and the incredibly unprofessional demeanor we felt from the manager and recommended he suggest she might want to do better for other customers as we will not be returning, at least as long as Sherri remains a leader at that business. Two stars only because of Marcus, negative stars for Sherri and overall the location was neat, but really not much more than an over glorified Sport Clips. read more

Recently relocated to the area and have been looking for a decent place to cut my hair. As a man, it can be a bit awkward and uncomfortable to walk into a woman's salon so I have been in the hunt to find a place with a "barber shop" feel. Upon entering they had a foosball table and plenty of screens showing all the sports channels. They also offer you a free drink while getting your do! I also checked out the other mens salon but they charge around $60 for a basic haircut!!! No way I'm ever paying that much. This place fit the bill perfectly at around 30 bucks! My stylist Melissa was awesome and had years of experience cutting hair. She did an awesome job and I can safely say I found my go-to place. Highly recommend Cool Heads! read more

My 2boys are 6 and 9 with curly hair. We follow Melissa from another location since my 9yr old really likes the way she leaves his hair. Totally didn't mind driving from Irving to this new location as long as my son likes his haircuts. She really listens and engages in a conversation with him. Not a great first impression and experience. We've been going to the Cool Heads in south Flower Mound for two years and always have been happy with the services. The Highland Village location is much closer to us so I was excited when it opened up. I have two boys, made appointment at 10am on a Saturday. We had appointments with Veronica and Melissa. Veronica was ready for us and did a real good job. Melissa was almost 20 minutes late, never apologized, did not do a good job with the haircut, and charged me the wrong amount. Melissa charged $27 for a kids haircut, very weird. I used to get charged $22 at the Cool Heads in S. Flower Mound. Veronica charged $24. Both my boys have the same type of haircut. Last thing I also did not care for is the music playing had explicit lyrics. Sorry but I don't care to hear a lot of F this F that in the music playing when I have my 7 and 10 year old boys with me. I will try this location again since it's very new, but will stick with Veronica. read more

I just can't keep quite any longer. My last review was rebuked by the owner. Even tho he never apologized, I deleted my reply and rating as I can understand how hard it is to staff these days. I along with my two sons have been faithful patrons since they opened. But every since Melissa has been gone, the service has deteriorated drastically. Not to rehash my last experience. Today was the last straw. I booked a kids cut. For some reason the stylist felt the need to change my pre booked kids cut to an adult cut. I questioned her about the higher charge. She said something about a change in policy where kids cuts are applicable for 10 yrs old and younger. After giving her a very generous $5 cash tip and leaving the salon, I grew furious. My son is 10 yrs old and has had cuts with amazing stylist Melissa multiple times with not a single. Why this stylist felt the need to charge us an extra $7 is beyond me. You have lost 3 customers for terrible service! No fear as I'm sure you will be out of business very soon. I've witnessed multiple walk-ins try for a cut only to to find the doors looked. Wtf!
