We went here about 30 minutes before closing. The clerk didn't look happy about it. It's pretty easy for him, all he has to do is weigh the cups of yogurt that are self serve and take the money. 9 of us were in and out in 15 minutes. We enjoyed the yogurt, the cookies we saw in the display as we came in were already put away for the night. Sorry if we inconvenienced him. We thought about eating in the store but didn't want to increase his ire. No worries, the evening temperature had dropped to a nice 97°. After looking at the website we were excited to try this place for dessert with the whole family. Sadly, it didn't meet our expectations. We went in at 8pm on Friday night. The flavors of yogurt were limited because 3 of the machines were out of order which left 5, I believe. We almost left to find the other location but decided to stay. On the website it boasts an "Exclusive! Cookie Topping Bar," and to try them all. When I asked where that was, the employee pointed to some empty tubs (6) and said, "It looks like we got cleaned out." When I asked if he was going to refill them, he said he could, but whatever is left over he has to throw away at the end of the night (2 hours later, if they close at 10 like it says online). He asked me what cookie I wanted - I wanted to try them all! Clearly, he wasn't into it so I said, "Never-mind." The abundance of Christmas decor, ornaments, and many other trinkets gave me the impression the cookies and yogurt were an afterthought. Love me some frozen yogurt but I was very disappointed and a little unsettled when I got the raspberry flavor (which I have gotten before and is a go to for me!) and it unfortunately tasted very much like a soapy chemical!!!!! I even bought a larger container which the total ended up being 17$ I went back in to ask about the taste and was told that it had been " asked about before by others" I was told I could grab some extra yogurt which made me feel a little bit better but still very concerning! The owner was working during our visit (Of course I never mention that I'm a Yelp Elite Reviewer, for fear of preferential treatment). He was kind and professional but friendly, not treating us as simply customers but as friends or family. Very professional in that any issue was immediately handled (a man entered and was incredibly rude demanding to see a menu and shouting that it is confusing without menus posted -Balance of cost, quality, quantity, was perfect. $20 for two people to get froyo with toppings and Valentine's cookies. -Cleanliness, tidy and ship shape. Very well organized. -Deliciousness, incomparable. I originally had this place at a 5 Star but now they deserve ZERO stars! The fact that they no longer allow you to have a sample cup to try the different flavors BLOWS MY MIND! They started this tactic at least a year ago which really upset customers and to find out 1 year later they are still doing this is beyond me. I have never been to an ice cream shop, whether it be Baskin-Robbins, Cold Stone, Yogurt Land, or ANY other place that doesn't allow you to sample the flavors before you purchase it... especially at a frozen yogurt establishment. That's part of the whole experience! You sample the flavors and you mix and match what you like. In addition, these types of places constantly rotate their flavors so how do I know what I like? You have "Hazelnut Chocolate" and "Chocolate Cream Pie". Well I want chocolate but I don't know which one... so I guess and maybe not like it? You get the point... A place like this will never get my business. What a terrible business model for a frozen yogurt establishment. The owner/manager should be ashamed... And now like the rest of the businesses in Redding that were once loved by the community, it won't be long until this business shuts its doors. And rightfully so. Solid 4 star rating for their fro-yo, 1 star deducted for the lack of options. Year after year I frequent this establishment in hopes of a more exciting offering of flavors. Every year I'm disappointed. The staple vanilla flavor is my favorite & the toppings are pretty bountiful. the fresh baked cookies are a fun option to those with teeth sensitivity or an easy option to bring to a party. They aren't overly sweet but certainly hit the spot for a treat. The sugar cookies with frosting are like Lofthouse; pillowy soft with a frosting that sweetened just right. My preferred location is the original one on Hartnell just down from Yama sushi. The location in the mall is convenient but the young man who tends to work there most often is inconsiderate. We've been in a few times because it's fun to fill a bowl with fro-yo & find a place to sit & people watch for a while while in town. The young man we most often encounter cannot make small talk & is pushy in getting housekeeping tasks done when customers are present. The last we we visited, my husband was on crutches & healing from surgery. the young man came from behind the counter after ringing us up & as we slowly made our way out, he literally pushed up against my husband as he proceeded to mop right in front of his exit path. I told the young man to stop & wait until we got out as my husband was obviously on crutches & could easily fall if he hit a wet spot. The young man noted he needed to get his chores done before the store closed. I countered with "you don't close for an hour". The mopping should have waited for another literal few seconds as we were clearly making our way out of store entirely. For poor service, specifically at the mall occasion, I've deducted 1 star because the young man has given we & others we've spoken to about this location, problems or poor service in one way or another on far more than one occasion. read more

Operationally: Why don't they play music? The poor kiddos work alone so they have to be bored not having anyone to talk to or listen to when they're working. The location with the holiday stuff...that has an overwhelming amount of nicknacks that need to be dusted! So that in itself is a full time job. Why aren't the flavors rotated? They have tart, or plain, berry, lemon, pineapple Carmel, maybe a few more fruit flavors...surprisingly no chocolate. It's not a flavor I like but that generally is one of the more popular flavors. Nice kiddos but may be lacking good owner/manager decisions that don't lend to a nice customer experience. I wish there were more options for fro-yo here in Redding because I would likely support them just for the variety. read more

Cute place with Christmas decorations all year round and other seasonal decor/gifts. The Snickerdoodle, sprinkle and rascal cookies are delicious. The yogurt is pretty average for a frozen yogurt establishment. You'll find the typical flavor options like boysenberry, chocolate, tart, pineapple etc. Where this place is lacking is their topping options. It's always slim pickings no matter what time of day I go and the gummy candies taste stale. The toppings bar could use a good wipe down and cleaning as well. We arrived early (the door notes they now open at 10am), seeing us waiting out front a women opened the doors early and welcomed us in. My girls were thrilled! The wedding cake cookies did not disappoint. Inside was clean and spacious. The decor is always a hit with my kids! This is the most gorgeous dining establishment I've ever been to. I use Yelp solely to review places that I consider special, under appreciated, or amazing, and this is my first entry in about a year to that prestigious list. The inside of this restaurant is built like a suburban home, decorated with Christmas decor from the floor to the ceiling. It looks like a beautiful time capsule. The yogurt fixtures are engraved into small slots straight through the unmarked, white wall, as if the place originally was just straight up a house. Every single store next to this location is for lease, except for one completely empty office building. The establishment smells like how it feels to turn on a central air conditioning unit on a hot, dry day. Oh, and the yogurt is amazing. If you care about the food, 5/5. Go here. It's amazing, clean, with some good variety. Everything you could ask for from frozen yogurt. If you want to change your life, though. I ordered ahead 2 dozen cookies and gave them my cc on the phone so I wouldn't have to linger. No masks, gloves, etc. They obviously could care less about their customer's health. They didn't have enough of one so they substituted six cookies I did not want. I asked for frosted sugar cookies instead and the owner was MAD because I wanted one frosted sugar cookie in exchange for the six others they gave me! You do the math! He made a point that they are $3 each. I substituted six $1.75 for my one $3! He made a lame attempt at a refund as he rolled his eyes at me but I wanted out of the virus pit. Since well before covid, customers can no longer sample the flavors - used to be able to. Because of that, we stopped going more than once a year or so because we don't know what the all the flavors taste like. What?! Why haven't I known about this place? After a friend told us about this place, we decided to try it out. First of all, the Christmas decor and atmosphere is unbeatable. Extremely bizarre shop. I am guessing they sell and celebrate Christmas year round. I personally have enough jollyness in one month. They have all kinds of nonesence packed full in the little store. It completely took away from my mission, frozen yogurt! Which was just about as useless as the nik naks holding you hostage as you figure out what you're doing there. No sample cups given out, so I purchased a mismatched selection of what I thought I might like. The redeeming factor of this odd experience was it is super cheap. The girl who helped seemed like she was afraid to come within 20 feet of us even though we had our masks on and sanitized when we walked in. Went here with my fiancé on a particularly hot day in Redding, looking to beat the heat. The outside of it is very cute and welcoming! As we approached, we noticed the array of Christmas decorations in the window and throughout the inside. A bit odd for it being the month of July, but according to other reviews, these are permanent. When we entered the location, we weren't greeted and did not see an employee until we were paying. Also odd. We ordered two of the smaller yogurts and a cookie for the road- which totaled to $12.00 and some change. They have approximately 8-10 yogurt flavors available at a time and rotate them. My fiancée got the lemon yogurt and I standard vanilla. Both really good! The lemon was refreshing but a little over powering. He loved it none the less. The "crackle" cooking was very delicious! My family decided to give this little place a look because we have been in serious need of some frozen yogurt! And since Spoon Me closed down, and there isn't any other alternative except for Coldstone, we wanted to see what Cookies & Yogurt was all about. Honestly, we weren't sure what to expect. We gave their frozen yogurt a try, added some toppings, and it was delicious! They have a lot of different toppings to choose from, and even had popping boba and fresh strawberries! The girl that took care of us at the register was really nice. Awesome customer service! The only thing is that they have a lot of ornaments and nicknacks around, so we were afraid our kids would play with them or break something, accidentally. But they were good, well behaved, and we had a nice time eating inside C&Y's quaint little parlor. All in all a great experience! We plan to go back and try their cookies. They're huge! read more

Awful way to conduct business! They don't let you sample a flavor before you buy it as all other ice cream shops do. Ice cream does not have a consistent flavor at every place and there's always new flavors out that you don't know if they're good or not, that is why most places let you sample. I wanted something fruity and ended up taking a $7 gamble on the raspberry. It tasted like vomit, It was so disgusting I threw it away. They refused to let me get a different flavor instead. If I was able to try it before I would have gone with something else. The employee even had the nerve to say "you wouldn't sample food at a grocery store would you?".
