I heard about Cookie Zombie through Yelp. I was invited last year to try them out and my family and I love their cookies. I was recently in town and excited that they were open, because they are usually open in the evenings, late evening evenings. They're located in a residential area, but have business parking and plenty. There are benches and chairs and tables outside to sit and wait for your order. These cookies are baked fresh on the spot. The worker tonight was super friendly and open to answering questions, and I love that she recommended the Apple caramel cookie, I loved it! We also got a bonus cookie with our dozen and she recommended the chocolate raspberry, it was so good! I ordered a dozen and tried their OMFG, Cookies & Cream, Chocolate Chip and Apple Oatmeal Caramel. Amazing bake-to-order cookies! Went for an after dinner dessert. Was in a quiet neighborhood in a plaza that was pretty dimly lit. Sort of fits the name of the store. Went in - there's about 15ish types of cookies available. Most sounded pretty good so we ordered a dozen cookies to try a few - they are small, but not bite sized. After about 15 min the cookies were ready and we picked them up. They were piping hot - which makes for an amazing cookie. The worker also threw in a few extra cookies and a milk as well since it was our first time. My favs were the OMFG (basically a little bit of cookie dough with a bunch of chocolate inside), the fig cookie (kind of like a fig newton), the peanut butter cookie (forgot the name of it - but it has like Reese's pieces in it I think), and the chocolate cookie with white chocolate. I came here again last night for another sweet tooth fix. This place reminds me on insomnia cookies but of course local, and I love it! They're always so kind when you walk in. If you're a chocolate chip cookie lover like me then I highly recommend the OMFG flavor; that's my favorite. I love the convenience of online ordering and knowing that these are freshly baked. I always say there aren't enough good cookie places, so glad to find and enjoy this spot in the south bay. Their cookies are delicious and taste homemade. You can get a half dozen for $15 or a full dozen for $26. My family and I got a half dozen (ordered online through website) where we could select up to 3 flavors. We tried their original chocolate chip, pb x darth squish, and chocolate blueberry. I really enjoyed the chocolate chip and pb cookies. My wife liked the blueberry the most because it wasn't chocolaty at all. It's like a gooey blueberry muffin. I think they also threw in a couple extra because I thought a half dozen would have 6 but there were 7 or 8 in the box. They also write your name in cool lettering on the side of the box which is a nice personalized touch. I would definitely order again and try more flavors or more of the same. Exact same quality but the size is the same however, this business is charging over $2 per cookie. Stop by and see the display on the counter and see the actual size of the cookies, it genuinely feels like a rip off ($26 for a dozen). I'm all for supporting small businesses but when you're going to purchase something that you can do for yourself, you're expecting something better and/or different that you can't do yourself. Buy at your own risk - but there's certainly better options (honestly any option is better) UPDATE: In response to the owner, yes, definitely tried the cookies, how else is one to review in earnest? Math was wrong? Hmm, yes, you gave 13 cookies instead of 12, so $26/13cookies comes to $2 a cookie, if you'd like to debate the value of 17¢ I'm happy to as I do think you're missing the point of the comment. Your prices are egregious for the size and quality you deliver. If you're encouraging your customer base to just bake themselves instead of supporting small business, like yours, then ok buddy, sure, happy to do so and I'd encourage you to reflect on your service and goods - looks like I'm not the only person who feels this way judging by other comments on here and google. These were a perfect nighttime dessert treat for my son and his friends during a video game meetup at our house--warm and fresh out of the oven. I liked being able to get 4 different types so each kid got to pick a flavor. We've been getting Cookie Zombie back to the days when they were sold at a small store in El Segundo. I found this new location by pure chance while biking by, and was happy to see that they have a storefront now. The owners have always had a good sense of style/whimsy--the whole zombie vibe has always delighted our kids, and the new store has these neat old Western flickering lanterns out front; it's fun to visit at night. Also check out the calligraphy of my name on the box! Very clever/fun. The cookie size is perfect to me. We've tried doing the jumbo cookies like Levain in Larchmont Village, Crumbl in Hawthorne, and Lazy Acres Hermosa/Bristol Farms Manhattan (LA & BF are really the same store, I found out!), but those big thick cakey cookies are just too much. You feel obligated to eat the whole thing and feel sick afterward. This size seems to strike a better balance. I'm happy to see Cookie Zombie still around and with their own storefront now, and with the late night hours. We've done Insomnia Cookies in Westwood too for late-night (yeah we're kinda cookie obsessed--at least my son is--or I like to pretend he's the culprit and not me!), but Westwood is pretty sketchy and empty at night, so it feels a bit unsafe at 10pm (who would've thought? Back in the 80s Westwood was packed on a Friday night). This area of North Redondo feels much safer on a Friday night at 10pm. It's the best nighttime dessert in the South Bay. read more
