The space is cute and the staff was friendly, but the selection was a bit slim. Definitely not as many options as I was hoping for that early in the day. I grabbed a few items to try and they were good, just not mind blowing. I left wishing there were more choices, especially since I came in so excited to check them out. I'm still looking forward to giving them another shot, and I might visit the Cromwell location to see how it compares.

The type of bakery is very similar to Bounom, a French inspired bakeshop. I follow them on social media and see what they make, it all looks and sounds so delicious. It's in a little plaza right on route 44. I went on a Friday around 1:30 and they had a limited selection which is understandable. The person helping me out recommended I go earlier. They still had mango cake slices, Korean BBQ; hot dog; pizza milk bread, and cookies. Milk bread is made with water instead of milk. I decided to purchase the Korean BBQ milk bread for $10; wow it was tasty, the bread was fluffy. That alone deserved 5 stars. There were a couple of tables to sit at. I can't wait to go back earlier in the day and try more times out!

First off, it's definitely one of those small, tucked-away spots you could easily miss if you didn't know it was there, but once you walk in, the decor is so cute. Think cozy, shabby chic vibes that make it feel warm and welcoming right away. The standout for me? The dinner roll. Honestly, one of the best I've ever had. It was dense, rich, and satisfying, not your typical light, airy Kaiser roll. It reminded me more of a Jamaican hard dough bread in texture and weight, which I personally loved. Super flavorful and filling. I was also really happy about their buy three, get one free promotion. It made it easy to try a few different things without feeling like I was overdoing it. As for the pastries, I tried the cinnamon roll and carrot cake. I didn't finish either, but the carrot cake definitely gave true homemade vibes. It had coconut mixed in, wasn't overly sweet, and felt more traditional than indulgent. If you like a less sugary, more classic-style carrot cake, you'll probably appreciate it. Overall, this bakery is worth a stop, especially if you're exploring the pastry trail. Not everything wowed me, but there were definitely some highlights that made it a good visit.

Think people are hating this place because they are comparing the food to Stop & Shop. The taste is pretty different. Sour Dough from NY, Vermont that was "baked today" but feels half frozen is $7 at Whole Foods ... so complaining about $10 for a local one is kind of wild. Yesterday I had a baguette from the West Hartford location. Ate it on the way home. It was so good. Finally tried a sandwich. I had their Turkey Sandwich today. Shit was life changing. Haven't had an experience like that since having a steak at J Gilberts for the first time. It is like wow this is what real food taste like and what our parents & grand parents would eat before everything was mass produced. Everything was local and delicious. Price wise it was $2 more than a regular sized Jersey Mikes Turkey Bacon sandwich. The coffee and the other baked goods I thought were just ok but their bread, cookies and sandwiches are incredible.

We popped into one of those pop ups today when we picked up our pre-ordered loaf of Rosemary and Thyme Sourdough Focaccia from Honey Bear Bakery on West Mary Drive in Simsbury, not too far from the Stop and Shop on Bushy Hill Road. Honey Bear sells a variety of sourdough breads (classic and whole wheat), cinnamon rolls, dinner rolls, and three types of sourdough focaccia (Rosemary & Thyme, Jalapeno Cheddar, or Cinnamon Sugar), chocolate chip cookies, and loaves of honey wheat bread. By the way, they mill their own wheat flour daily. They have a "farmstand" out front but suggest you place an order through their website (like we did). Our loaf of Rosemary and Thyme Focaccia (infused with fresh herbs and olive oil) was $12. I have to say that the website ordering experience and resulting communication were excellent. They accept PayPal and sent me a few e-mails and texts reminding me of my order and pick-up day and time. There is a kiosk on the side of the road at their address, and the names of their preordered customers are written on the boxes. Walk up customers have a box to place their cash. Our Sourdough Focaccia was delicious, I mean really full of flavor! We popped it in the oven for a teense and had it for dinner with smoked salmon, cream cheese and a bit of chopped onion. We were so impressed with their overall product and customer service that we went back the next day for some amazing looking cinnamon rolls! As if everything Honey Bear has isn't enough, well they also run sourdough baking classes!

They've been around since 2012 and offers a variety of treats; from macarons, cupcakes, bars, pies, truffles, and cookies. There are three locations; Avon, South Windsor, and West Hartford. This one in Avon is super cute and whimsical; love the decor with the picture frames on the wall. There was a table and some chairs to enjoy your treats. I decided to get a few macarons, bars, and a cupcake. All were so good but my favorite were the macarons. They were the perfect texture, lightly crispy on the outside, and soft on the inside. This place is definitely a gem and I can't wait to go back!

It feels like a modern tea room with some availability to sit. The walls are a beautiful calm blue. They have some cold drinks, and the cups cakes - very moist, definitely have standing life in them. The employee was very kind and friendly, and the shop seems smoothly run. The shop seems to be in two plazas, and have designated parking on either side next to the building. Watch carefully for the signs, because the plaza is a little nondescript from the road.
