I was on a walk this morning and I noticed that I was near Borough Coffee. I had been wanting to…read morecheck out this place for quite sometime now, I just never had the time to do it. But today was the day! As soon as you show up, you know this isn't your typical coffee shop. The outside of the place looks like it could be an Inn in the neighborhood (which who knows maybe it was at one point.) The vibe inside gives off quiet workspace/library, and definitely gives off the lobby of an Inn (think Gilmore Girls.) There was some people scattered around but I didn't take a deep look inside since I was just passing by. I ordered my ice vanilla latte. The first thing I remember realizing was that it wasn't very sweet. Which is not a bad thing, sometimes they can be made really sweet other times they can be not so sweet. This latte was in the middle. I could taste the creaminess from the oat milk too. I would definitely check this place out again and try out some of their other drinks that they offer. I would even like to stay in and work inside and see more of the environment inside.

Borough Coffee is in an absolutely gorgeous building -- previously a B&B. The various 1st floor…read morerooms have cozy seating scattered throughout, and it seems like it would be a fantastic place to work or study. Though most seats were filled when I visited, it was super quiet, like a library. I felt a little uncomfortable having a conversation, afraid of bothering others. I'm not sure if it's always that quiet or not. Street parking is somewhat limited, but there is a church with a parking lot just across the street. That said, I visited on Easter, so the church lot was full, but we were still able to find a spot to parallel park at the end of the street. They serve a decent variety of coffee and other drinks, but have a limited food/pastry menu. I got an iced lavender vanilla latte with oat milk, which is something I order at a lot of places. Sometimes, the lavender tastes so artificial it reminds me of eating soap -- I think certain brands of syrup taste better than others. That was not the case here. I don't know what brand they use, but it must be one of the better ones, because it tasted mild and delicious. Both lavender and vanilla came through. The espresso was smooth and not bitter. The ratios of everything were great as well -- not too much oat milk but not too little -- the perfect latte.

Just inside, the pastry case is centrally displayed under the main counter, stock full of an array of traditional French pastries, so long as you arrive before they are sold out. To the left, is an open view of the kitchen, where you can watch the bread shaping and baking take place. I ordered an americano, alongside the sausage roll, the chocolate almond croissant, and the oranais, a traditional apricot filled pastry. Each croissant was flaky, buttery, and flavorful, washed down by the americano, leaving nothing to be desired. To top it off, the pastries were enjoyed on a beautiful, sunny day among the patio seating within the alleyway. Breakfast in Paris is a must try if you are in search of tasty French pastry within close reach!

Love this hidden gem!…read more Julian is a great owner and friendly face of Breakfast in Paris. He is the owner and you can tell he truly loves what he does. He has a friendly and helpful staff who are always willing to offer a suggestion or recommendation. It is a super quaint location filled with the smells of fresh baked bread, coffee, and pastries. I find that their items are reasonably priced and very delicious. It's conveniently located downtown and has seating both inside and outside. Would definitely recommend to anyone in the area.

We were both pleasantly surprised by how much we liked our drinks. The barista said the Fuel latte was her personal creation and my hubs LOVED it. The seating was also super cute and eclectic. They also had a really decent selection of baked goods but we opted not to today. Not for lack of availability tho, they all looked really good.

I remember the vibes were pretty welcoming. I have gone once since then but during the day and the vibes were pretty chill and low-key but nothing too crazy. Just a typical experience but also a really good college outing memory. The matcha I had from there wasn't particularly my favorite but they used to keep their espresso machine up at night during the performance, I'm not completely sure if I remember correctly if they sold liquor or alcohol but the drink that I did have from there the first time I went was pretty good. The ambiance is pretty normal for greensboro, I feel like almost every establishment you walk in, there will be cracked floors but I just remember the staff was pretty awesome and as far as pastries, they had a pretty good variety and gluten free options and other food sensitivity options. I believe a few years ago, I recall an episode of "Catfish" where Nev and Max also visited this place so that was pretty interesting to experience that but honestly a pretty decent place.
