Wow I'm so happy to have discovered this amazing tea shop. I'm just getting into teas and exploring different flavor and I was actually just looking for a tool to brew my teas. I walked into a little shop with books and decorations to sell, then walked further back to find a wall of tea blends for purchase. Then on the opposite side there was a counter to order drinks and food. I wasn't sure what to buy so I decided to order a drink that I thought I might enjoy. I settled on the Sahara Sunset with some honey. They ask you if you want to add milk or sweeteners, I settled on just the honey. I was very surprised at how delicious my drink was, warm, cozy and so flavorful. I never expected that from a tea. Needless to say I purchased a pack to make at home. With that being said the service was impeccable and the owner/employee was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I requested a tea that was not packaged and she mixed the blend on site while I waited. The first floor is bright and sunny with plenty of tables (with outlets!) to do work on a laptop or grade a pile of papers. If you make your way up a cute staircase the upstairs seating area is much more private, and you can tuck yourself away if you want to get away from the world for a while or perhaps have an intimate conversation. There is an electronic fireplace upstairs, tables, chairs, and it's nice and quiet. I wouldn't come here starving as it's not a lunch spot. It's a place to grab tea, buy tea, grab a snack, and sit and relax. It's tea time at its best. Incredible staff. Friendly patrons. The tea shop feels you walked into a spot in Italy or France. The sounds from speakers are very soothing sounds of classic French music and bluesy-folksy music The best part is the tea. My eyes were set on the lavender rose but, they were out of stock. I settled for the strawberry fields. It was certainly a joy to my taste buds. Sarah the owner and tea blend creator extraordinaire is so sweet, it makes you want to support her shop even more! I really like the vanilla chai-me, it doesn't need much sweetening and the individual spices really come through, as well as the chestnut, peppermint, and vanilla roobios. I also am a fan of the Strawberry Fields which I prefer ice as well as the Sweet Mango tea iced. Really I haven't had a tea here that I have not liked! The baked treats from Wallflour are always tasty. The lemon shortbread cookies from Wallflour, you would never guess they are gluten tea and vegan they taste so good. This is also a great spot for gifts. She has some neat tea lip balms as well as some locally made soaps. She of course has plenty of lose leaf tea to buy, as well as some tea making supplies. This is a local gem on state street in Greensboro. The tea was absolutely wonderful. I loved that they had many local things for sale from other local owned shops. I would have rated this tea shop much higher but the young lady that greeted us was so rude! We asked a few questions and she rolled her eyes and told us " it's just tea, I don't know what to tell you" I found it horrible that a place that had many teas for sale couldn't tell me about the flavors. I have been here a couple of times before and each time was charmed by the ambience of the shop and the service. I was telling my sister about it as we both love tea, and we decided to visit after lunch on a Sunday. We had my 3 year old and 1 year old nieces with us. The 3 year old was well in hand, not touching anything, just pointing and talking to her mother. The 1 year old was being carried and could not access anything. The moment we walked in the door with the children, the girl behind the counter glared at us, as if she was astounded that we would dare to bring children in with us. My sister tried to ask some questions about the tea, but the girl was too busy actively glaring at my nieces to answer her. I asked for a recommendation based on the chestnut tea I'd had last time, and she literally told me "well, if you liked that, you could always get it again". What?? Why would you recommend that I get the same thing? It was as if she was just concerned with getting rid of us. We purchased two teas and a pack of cookies for the 3 year old and went up to the lounge area. An older woman was posted up in the lounge area as if it were her personal office, and she too glared at the girls and sighed heavily as the 3 year old ate her cookies and announced that they were yummy. We packed them up and left. I've never felt so unwelcome. I know not everyone loves children, but the girls were literally not even doing anything to warrant this kind of reaction. I was mortified that this was my sister's first visit to a place I liked so much. I give it 3 stars based on my previous experiences, but the behavior of their baristas needs to be addressed. read more

The staff handled it with class and grace while the lady threw a tantrum for not getting her way. Among Vida Pour's many virtues are an expansive selection (greens, whites, reds, herbals, and everything in between), reasonable pricing ($2 to $2.25 depending on the size for a cup of tea), a helpful and passionate owner in Sarah Chapman, and some high-quality products. An apple pie tea sweetened with local honey was the best hot beverage of recent memory while an apple pumpkin chai muffin managed to satisfy despite "organic" and "vegan" hitting my brain like toxic waste warning labels.
