Someone needs to address the bathrooms in this eating establishment! No toilet paper, no paper towels... the floors haven't been mopped in months it appears. Piles of dried up soap on the floor.. sticky floors all over... I have no idea what was slung on the walls. Hope the kitchen is cleaner! All the trash cans were full and so nasty. Food was okay...Not sure why the term cheddar is used for processed cheese sauce (that's a corporate thing). Fries like salt licks. The grilled onions on our Cheddar style burger tasted good but we couldn't bite them. The bacon was perfect. We were the only people in the restaurant so it's not like they were busy. Friendly cashier. Don't think we will go back, at least to this location. read more

I submitted a complaint Saturday and received a call from corporate today. My grievance was about the service at the window to my 16 year old daughter the majority of the food for the party was wrong. We only spent $47 but I would have paid $60 for decent service from the clerk and the correct food. I'm not rich but the money was not the issue. Kelly from corporate was just as rude and wrong as the food and clerk was. I was not looking for a rebate or coupons or free anything, merely voicing my complaints so they may improve. Fast service. Good burger! Not a fan of the crinkle-style fries (I prefer curly fries, but it is what it is.) Had the regular hamburger fries, and regular drink, and got out of there for under $8. Worth it. Will return in the future. read more

I have been a fan of Cook Out ever since I first discovered them in the Carolinas. I usually go for their hotdogs, but their burgers are pretty good, too. Yes, it is fast food, but sometimes fast food is what your body is craving all right, maybe you're soul craves it, as well. If you're looking for a fast food meal, I would recommend here. read more

Cook out will ALWAYS be my number one fast food restaurant. Their food never disappoints and the sweet tea is that if true southern nature with extra diabetes like I like it. I forgot as really looking forward to going to eat here with my family and when we got there it already took a while for the food to be served I got the chili cheese dog with Cancun fries and coleslaw and the first thing I observed when I looked in the oddly smelling box was the fries. it looked like a blindfolded toddler put the seasoning on my Cajun fries and don't even get me started on what type of seasoning they used. Now to the hot dog. It was smelling extremely salty and just low quality. when I took the first bite, which I was honestly scared to, it tasted very weird like something I've never had before. I immediately put the dog back in the box and closed it. I was ashamed, but the coleslaw was very excellent and the Dr Pepper was a little too sweet for some reason but it was nice trying another place and getting to eat there thank you. read more

Do NOT eat here! I wanted something different, so I gave it a try. I ordered the 1/4 pound burger. The meat tasted awesome!, but only occupied about a 1/4 of the bun. I guess, that's why it was a 1/4 pound burger. The lettuce; was one thin slice, wilted, that didn't even cover the burger. The onion; most places only put a few rings on your sandwich. They put an entire slice! Imagine, biting into a whole onion. How did I discover the contents? I only ordered the burger with lettuce, onion, mayo and mustard. Well, the meat fell out the bun, because of the amount of mayo and mustard. They must have used a tablespoon, because it floated out the bun, onto my shirt. This place has the ability to serve up an awesome burger. Had I not been on the road, I'd have gone back and asked the workers one question. Would you make your own burger like this? I won't ever go back to the Troy location. Will I try them again? I'd say, I'd like to, only because the flavor of the meat they used, was seasoned perfectly. My burger was just thrown together in a careless manner, the "Cajun" wrap was drowned in hot sauce and nothing else, and my cup of chili was HALF full and just about all liquid. It wasn't busy when I came through, so there is no excuse for the lazy manner in which the food was given us. I've eaten at other Cook Outs other places and NEVER had such a horrible experience. Don't have 2 drive-thru lanes open if you aren't going to take orders from both of them. Literally waited 10mins for one car I THOUGHT was placing their order. They pulled off I waited another 10mins as two more cars in the other lane placed their orders. This place is new in Troy but they are a chain. I've been to several of them in the state of Georgia. The food here (and other CookOuts) is good and the prices are very reasonable. They have over 40 types of milkshake. Hamburgers, hotdogs, pulled pork bbq, corn dogs, chicken sandwiches and more. Every other one I've been to has been staffed by very friendly, smiling people but this location fell short on employee smiles. The guy who took my order didn't even greet me, never smiled, only spoke when he didn't hear my whole order and wore his hat barely touching his head. He seemed to me that he didn't want to be there. Another thing I noticed was that they didn't have the drink "Cheerwine". Every other location I've visited has had this and I missed it at this one. I gave them 4 stars for good, value-priced food and a clean store. They need to work on employee attitude. read more

Absolutely love their food. I've tried everything on the menu that I'd eat and haven't been let down yet. I've also tried most if their shakes and they too are awesome. Probably the best place in town for burgers and shakes, especially at the price which is very reasonable considering the options for their combos. Long gone are the days of just fries or onion rings. Want a hotdog, chicken nuggets or two quesadillas as a side instead of French fries? Now you can. So would I recommend it? Absolutely. We were welcomed by friendly people who were patient with us since we had never been there before and took a few minutes to figure out the menu. The hamburgers tasted like they would at our backyard cookout. Not seasoned a lot, but that was ok with me. The toppings I got (ketchup, mustard, mayo, tomato and lettuce) fixed that. I liked the dill pickle sandwich slices. The fries and onion rings were good even though not strongly seasoned. The quesadilla had pepper jack cheese along with mozzarella. I would have liked a cheddar much better, but I liked the way it was cooked. I noticed that someone had complained about the shake on another Yelp review...saying you couldn't drink it from a straw...Well that is exactly why I ordered one! You can buy a sip-able shake at any other fast food place. I enjoyed my shake with a spoon! Fast and friendly service, along with the best prices I've seen in years, bought them a return customer in me. We'd heard good things about the Tuscaloosa location and looke forward to trying out the newTroy location, as we are residents of Troy. The lines were full and very slow moving, but for good food that would be okay. I ordered the BBq pork meal(says chopped on drive thru menu, but came shredded),,,and the chicken strip meal/tray for my teen son. Also, two of the shakes(the banana pudding shake is oh-my good!). The cost of the two meals was 15 dollars and change. When I got home and lifted the bag with trays inside,,,I immediately noticed an inch or so of liquid in the bottom of the bag...and thought maybe it was grease from bbq. Inside home I removed the trays and all the napkins and utensils were completely soaked with .....water....greasy water...and had to be discarded. Inside the bbq dinner, the bottom of the tray was covered in water...the pork bbq was huge wad of shredded pork...one tiny smear of sauce...and the center of bbq was ice cold...I believe the pork bbq was frozen and rewarmed , and thats why the water in the container. No hickory odor, no browned, char bits...no bbq flavor...I can do better in my oven at home. The fries were on a seperate piece of foil so edible...and the cole slaw seemed fresh but bland...why hush puppies i dunno but i liked them with ranch dressing from my own fridge...Maybe they don't have the right crew in their kitchen,,,or having a bad day...but meats should be hot unless specified its gonna be cold.! read more
