On this evening, I met an old friend and we were greeted and seated fairly quickly despite there being a full house. Our waiter was a little 'spaced out', but he was fast, efficient, and effective. He was extremely attentive and gave stellar recommendations from the menu. I had the Naan Chicken Philly. It was delicious. Not to mention, the gulf shrimp were an excellent appetizer as well. For clarity, au poivre literally means "with pepper" -- the classic French preparation features a steak crusted in cracked peppercorns, seared, and finished with a brown Cognac-and-peppercorn reduction made from the pan drippings. Nowhere should a simple Alfredo-style cream sauce be called "au poivre." For the upcharge, I was expecting authenticity and depth of flavor, not a misrepresentation. The service was friendly and the atmosphere pleasant, but my first visit also had issues -- my wife actually found a piece of plastic from a salad bag in her salad. Mistakes happen, but after two visits, it's hard to overlook the lack of attention to detail.
