She offered no recommendations for substituting those items that you were out of and stood there looking at us like we were inconveniencing her. As I sat at the railroad crossing 50 yards in front of this store, waiting for the world's longest train to clear the road, I developed a fierce thirst. After 20 minutes of watching drab-colored railcars roll s-l-o-w-l-y by, I whipped in for gas and a cold drink. The exterior is typical small-town convenience store, but the store is larger than it looks and serves as a general store for the area, apparently. Groceries, hardware, dog food, cleaning supplies, etc. stock the shelves. There's also a lot of cool old stuff around the store. Old scales, signs, and memorabilia from ye olden days. I wandered around a bit, ogling, selected a Diet Dr. Pepper, a can of snuff, paid for my gas, and hit the road. There's a pizza/deli area inside, with a couple/several tables to sit at, if you have nowhere to be and want to idle. The lady behind the counter was friendly and made the pit stop a bit more pleasant. Diesel pumps on the side, set-up like a mini truck stop.
