With years passing and spying a shiny new 'jangles right near our hotel in Staunton, VA, I caught the urge to try it again and see if anything had changed about their golden chicken and biscuits? The short answer is, no. It is still crispy skinned and meaty, with whatever the ingredient that makes it so compelling. Along with the buttered biscuit, cool coleslaw and dirty rice, it is remains a valued and delicious alternative to fast food fare. Even my lovely traveling companion, a first time indulger, found the feast in our room worthy of praise, and she's a tough nut to crack with untested cuisine. We've been loving our days in western Virginia, but it might just be Bojangles that seals the deal and finds us back in this neck of the Blue Ridge woods sooner than later. Just wish they had designed the drive through and entrance to the shop with more concern for safety. There is no way to walk to the entrance doors without crossing the drive through lane right where the lanes wrap around the front of the building. That is an accident waiting to happen.

The restaurant is an old school American diner and the entire concept is awesome. You can either go up front and order or pick up the phone next to your table and order like that which is neat. The servers/staff were really nice and some of them even kept our 11 month old baby occupied/entertained. The food was really good, I got the superburger and a mushroom and Swiss burger. Both were incredibly good and flavorful. My wife did a build your own burger and loved it. Our child had a grilled cheese and was very content. Will definitely be back here to try the rest of their menu.

Diner vibes, but not put on, with memorabilia on display from their long tenure here. You order from a land line phone at your table, or even from your car, and kids meals come in unique boxes to make the little ones happy. None of the food they serve is particularly amazing, but none of it is bad either. It's solid and will fill you up. But the star of the show are the prices. I live in Richmond, and you can't get lunch anywhere for under $15/person. Here, that $15 will cover two meals easily. And it really is a good place for the whole family.

The store itself offers a couple of self-checkout lines, attendant lines (2), made-to-order kiosk (3), self serve coffee and drink stations, lottery machines, mobile pick-up, a small section of convenience items, pre-made food and pastries, as well as tobacco and alcohol. Compared to other locations, I felt this store was very small and offered a lot less than other Wawa's I have shopped at (it could be that we are located in a smaller area). My one complaint is the pre-made heated food was burnt, my husband could not finish eating his sausage croissant, we are understanding- it's first day and your still trying to adjust QC and the like. There is parking directly in front of the store and as well as on the left of the store (if facing it). There are several gas pumps for those needing fuel. Overall, it was a nice Wawa, I just wish the store itself was a little bigger and they had a wider selection of items. I'm still very happy that Wawa has come to down, I only wish I would have gotten there a little early to get some swag (the shirt). The goose was very friendly and engaging:)

We show up and end up waiting over an hour for our order. The entire lobby was filled with customers waiting. We were there so long, I almost felt a kinship with the other customers by the end of the ordeal. The next time we go, the rice is barely cooked, it was literally crunchy. Enough said. This brings us to today. I place an order on the mobile app for chips and salsa and burritos. Come to find out they're out of chips. How convenient I've already paid for the chips and am told I can't get a refund or even a voucher to get the bag of chips next time. The girl just says to explain the situation and they'll give me the chips another time. I ask for her name but she would only give me the managers name. We'll see if they honor the bag of chips but at this point, I'm very underwhelmed with this location and will hope for better service once the Waynesboro location opens up.

I then asked the cashier if that scan also attached my rewards number to my order so I'd get points. He said no, I needed to scan my rewards too. So I did. He told me my total, and it seemed a bit high, so I questioned him and asked if my drink was taken off. He said yes. I was still a little hesitant because I knew the total was high, but I went ahead and paid. When I asked for a receipt, he had already crumpled it up and handed it to me that way. When I looked closer, I saw my drink was in fact not taken off. He said he'd need a manager to refund me for the drink. The manager was clearly unhappy with me, one of the least friendly interactions I've had with a manager. She told me that because I scanned my rewards after my free drink reward, it voided the free drink. But again, the employee is the one who told me to scan my rewards, and also told me my drink was taken off. Just an overly frustrating experience. I was given the wrong information by the employee, then made to feel guilty and stupid by the manager on top of it.
