Fast services, orders are always correct and the food is yummy!!! I try to always get it when I'm in HB!!

We don't have this in NJ and I guess it's a fast food staple in the Southeast, but the chain stops in Maryland, so we must give it a go. Four stars to the Peanut Butter Reeses Milkshakes. It was not too thick and not too milky - slurp it or scoop it. Either way was delightful. You'd get bite-sized pieces of Reese's. It was not my flavour choice, yet I liked it! Onion rings were also good and the Burger cook out style came in with a slaw, minced onions and a bbq sauce. So many yummy choices for sides. You want hush puppies? Corn dogs, cajun fries even quesadillas! These Southern burgers are killing it! read more

We stopped here once. I had never been before. Thought it would be very much like 5 Guys but not nearly as good. The burger was Ok but the fries were terrible. Their drinks consist mostly of milkshakes which I do not do so nothing else to drink besides diet coke or pepsi. I would avoid this place if I could. They are actually building a brand new one very close to us. read more

I get the same thing every time. So sad that my chicken wrap was so small today. Looks bitten off too. It's usually not like this. Lettuce was old as well. The rest of my food was fine. Decided to try the new Cook Out in Southport while on vacation in Oak Island, NC. Prior to going, I checked the menu out online and they had lots to offer...the char-burger is what piqued my interest. When I unwrapped my burger it didn't look very promising. However, after the first bite...OH MY GOD! The flavor was out of this world! It was THAT good that my son asked for a second burger! Our food came out exceptionally fast, it was ALL correct and hot. The service was equally as good and will definitely be returning when we come back next year. Keep up the good work Cook Out and thanks for making our lunch so enjoyable! read more

First time here and was glad we did. Didn't know it was a drive thru only but the quality of food for the price was really good. Orders were correct fast and hot. Was impressed with the double burger and flavor was great. The BBQ style chicken was good bit it was only 2 chicken tenders on a bun. read more

Where I do enjoy their milkshakes and fries! I feel that the young staff, especially later at night need to pay attention and listen to what we are ordering. I wondered why my $5.99 meal turned into $12.04. Knowing they upcharge for chili and slaw, still didn't make since. Then, as the young lady handed me my food I realized she rang me up for 2 hotdogs. I was very nice and laughed it off. Telling her I wondered how my small one hotdog order turned into a $12 meal- I see ya thought I may need 2 dogs vs one- But sister sadly this gal will be lucky to get 2 bites in. Lol- so again amazing food, and it's always amazing, but just make sure you're listening better and confirming when in doubt! read more

We did a drive thru and the wait was not too long.... service could be better!!! We ordered a spicy chicken and a double burger with a meal, spicy chicken was a little salty taste like it was take it out of the freezer and microwave it double burger was pretty good, you can taste the grill, I had some fries and the girl didn't asked if I need ketchup or any sauce ,the girl that worked there she didn't look too happy either service should be better..... read more

2-16-22 Health grade 96 I used the walk up window and was ignored for about 4-5 minutes. Placed my order my drink was packed I n ice had maybe 3 ozs of liquid in a large cup. My frys were so salty they had to be tossed out. My double burger came correct but looked like it was the hockey puck for a quarter on the field. Not manageable to pick up and eat. Had to use a fork to eat my hamburger. Now I know I sound all negative but I have used other locations and like the company and 99% of the other locations have been spot on with good service and food. This is the second time I have been to thus location and both times has been very bad. In the past 6 months I have used 4 different locations in different towns and can't complain at all on the Quality of service and product I recieved. I live in the Shallotte area and I hope Management sees this and solves this stores problems. read more

AMAZING food. I've never been to a cook out before, I'm from the north and we don't have any near where I live, so for my first experience with it was pretty delicious. The person who took my order was... impatient, to say the least, and rushed me through my order without giving me time to ask questions- The menu is pretty confusing, and while I understand it's "fast food" so being slower isn't appreciated they were not busy at the moment and I didn't take longer than maybe two minutes so it felt unprofessional. It didn't help that when I got to the window he was immediately shoving the items at me and basically threw the trays at me, which was stressful and was a pretty rude way to treat a customer. The drive through is INSANELY confusing and I struggled for a good five minutes trying to figure out what on God's creation was going on- some more signs and directions would be beneficial for sure! Other than that it was a pretty good time. I enjoyed my burger, they didn't miss anything or make mistakes, and my partner's order was similar in being tasty and mistake free. With some more training for employees and extra signs directing to the functional drive through and entrance it would be amazing! read more

Ordered a chicken quesadilla. It came in the form of a small soft ch eese taco, about a quarter inch thick. I opened up the wrap and it had one piece of chicken the size of a quarter. Totally not a quesadilla. Won't be back. read more

I dunno what that first reviewer is thinking, but this is a Cook Out. Everything I've had from this location so far is exactly what I expected. Shakes are awesome as always. Big messy burger in a box. Some fun variety to try - waking taco, bacon wrap.... It's all quick and hot COOK OUT food. The double drive thru is a bit tight, they should have done the cross over style drive thru. Fast service, with a walk up window. I'm already a regular. They have late night hours as well! read more

If your looking fir fast food with lots of menu options then you have found your place. If the two order / drive through lines are too long, park up front walk to order window saves a great deal of time. read more

Hamburgers were good. My only complaint is because they use tin foil to wrap the burgers they are always smushed flat. They should use small boxes like other chains do. read more

Very disappointed with this location. Stopped the other day for hot dogs and shakes. The bill was $11.58. When I got to the window I was asked if I had correct change when I handed them a twenty. I was informed by the lady at the window they did not have change in a very abrupt almost rude manner. I said sorry but I don't have the 0.58. She turned grumbling and handed me my change in bills. I left the window to let the people waiting behind me move up. As I drove down the street I realized she had given me $8.00 in change which totally shocked me. I thought since it was not my fault they didn't have change I would get $9.00 in change or at least suggest using a credit card. It is not only the 0.58 that I was OVERCHARGED but her attitude as well. Not sure I will be back. read more

Went here for lunch today after doing a boat tour in Holden Beach. This is a recentley opened Cookout and I think they worked out most of the kinks. We have been to different Cookout locations in NC but this one had the best made food of all the Cookouts we have been too. Had chicken tenders, fries, cheese bites and shakes. I went back to my childhood and had an orange push-up shake. Yum!! It was all very good. BTW drive-thru line was kind of long but it was moving, so went to the walk up window. Quick service.
