I had to remind the waitress about my daughter's appetizer order. & My oldest daughter's order was botched completely which took quite a while for the food to arrive . her slider burgers weren't even broken in the individual pieces. So she got a large single 4 square burger & buns which we turned away. I order margarita chicken. Which was so dry I couldn't tell if the chicken was fried or grilled . I come to this chilis remotely often, and this is a good chilis. Here are my thoughts. Every single time the food has been on point. Chicken crispers are excellent. They are juicy, crispy, but messy. Mac and cheese tastes natural (Made with real cheese) and not artificial, fries are not over done, and tea is always strong with good flavor. The white skillet queso is a must. Also the mozzarella sticks are pretty much the best ever. On the other hand while the chips are great, they are way too salty. My eyes almost twitch when I eat them. Service is regularly slow. It would be nice if they could pick up the pace a little, even when it's just the three of us. Bathrooms are clean, but not every part of the restaurant is the cleanest. You can tell it's an older building, which is understandable. I know normally you would think this is a 3 or 4 star review, but based on how good the food is every time it deserves a 5. Went here a couple of weeks ago. I had pretty low expectations, since I had been to chili's before. They mainly serve what I consider "bar food" which is generally high calorie and don't belong on any menu in 2024. It was dinner time, so they were busy. Staff were nice and attentive and the place was relatively clean and orderly. I had the hand battered chicken crispers with Mac n cheese and probably fries. The sauces they brought me weren't great. The restaurant was very dirty. We came through the Togo door to sit at the bar. You could see all the filth on the floor and countertops where food was being made. The employees were just playing around and just ignoring all the filth just standing around on their phones. We went restroom It was dirty and had no soap. So I try to not eat at chain restaurants when traveling but chili's is the exception to that rule. Any time I'm craving chips and salsa and cheap delicious margaritas plus need a tv to watch a sporting event Chili's is my place. This chili's did not disappoint. With one minor negative which was the hostess. I asked for our party to be seated at the bar near TVs (we wanted to watch a b-ball game) she basically was like... no. My friend with me was outraged because she is a hostess at a restaurant as well so she knows how to treat patrons. We would have waited a bit longer for the bar section but wasn't given the option. And obviously if we were there we would have spent more money buying more drinks etc. but alas we were seated in the dining area and will watch the game at a different place. Our waitress made up for it though! She was great. As far as apps goes if you don't get their chips and salsa you might be a serial killer. If you are a member of their rewards program I'm pretty sure they are free (ours was at least) They are bottomless and perfect in every way. Their guacamole is always a nice splurge. When it comes to entrees it's hard to beat the value of the 3 for $10... soda, app, and entree. the side salads are nice especially if you garn yours with ranch or honey mustard which are wonderful dressings here. Myself I like to split the chicken and shrimp fajitas. The waitress even went ahead and split them into 2 separate plates. I can't even start with the margaritas they are so good and like 4 bucks! (I get the classic lime on the rocks) I ordered another on their kiosk ... ooops. All in all another great tasty and filling meal from chili's. Definitely not winning awards but when it comes to chains this is the top of the list for me! Service is not fine what Iean by fine is the bartender had to take our order because the waitresses where hiding in the back. The bartender is wonderful really nice. But everybody else just has no care or work ethic what so ever even the waitress that brought us our appetizers didn't even know what we ordered she said "yall did get the petals right". Mine was okay the chicken had a strange after taste, the shrimp tasted fishy the guacamole was brown and fermented tasting because it has been exposed to the air for to long and they tried to bring it back to freshness in looks and taste by pouring a massive amount of lime juice. The onions and peppers in mine where to watery and some where cold like they just expected the hot plate to finish the job. My Husband's brisket quisadilla barely had any meat on it and instead of a BBQ sauce they poured ketchup with spices on the inside. Went here this past Saturday evening. We called ahead to see if they could accommodate 20 people. They could and they delivered. The tables were ready when we got there. Everyone ordered in a timely manner. The food came out fast and nothing was returned back to the kitchen. Everyone got what they ordered. We can't complain. We love Chili's but it has been a while since we've been to one. I didn't catch our waiter's name because the wearing of the mask muffled his introduction. He was wearing a Star Wars mask, young fella, and he was outstanding! My wife got a tex-mex bowl, I ordered the 1975 soft tacos, and my son did wings and fries I believe. Anyway, portions were big and tasty! Of course, being at Holden Beach on vacation, well you have a big appetite and rarely do you get a bad meal.
