Surprisingly low prices for fast food and the quality is decent; less than $6 for burger, two sides and a drink. The portions are small, but that is also reflective of the low price. I'm not sure about the negative reviews posted as I found the food good for the price. The place was clean. Service was quick and friendly. My hotdogs tasted like they would at home if I had grilled them. It's not gourmet food but certainly tastes good and is of good quality. Let's say my visit was less than adequate. Went in the drive through and ordered a double burger cheddar style I was promptly asked if I wanted cheese...I thought that was included with the "cheddar style" burger. I was then told they were having technical difficulties. I ordered a large fry and a coke to drink. I proceeded to order a "cook out combo" with the regular burger, add cheese, onion rings and hush puppies for my sides and a tea to drink. I was asked if I wanted cheese, what is with this question didn't I ask for it??? During the corse of my ordering three different people took my order. Finally I'm at the window and pay. I'm handed out two drinks a "platter" and a small bag and told to have a good night. Upon checking my order before I pull off I'm missing my large fry, when I tell them this they reply with "oh yeah" and hand another small bag out the window. Once home I am able to investigate the order further. I am not sure how the fries qualified as a "large" as there was only 10 fires at most. My onion rings contained literally 3 rings. Both burgers were tiny and no where near the normal size. You have lost a customer, I will continue driving into savannah for Five Guys when I want a good burger. This ain't no Five Guys! Cheap food. That's where the virtue stops. The burger was ok. The fries were a bit mushy and the onion rings were not good at all. They promote fresh hamburgers, but definitely are selling frozen fries and o-rings! Strangely enough, they showcase 40 flavors of milkshakes, but have no clue how to make a milkshake. No milk in it at all. I flipped it like a Blizzard, and it did not move. I tried to drink it with a straw--not happening! Had to get a spoon to eat this glass of ice cream. Staff doesn't seem well trained and the bathroom was a mess. I live in Ohio, so obviously, I'll never be back, but the same would be true if I lived within walking distance. read more

Very Good Food, for Awesome Prices! I would say this is best described as: "Five Guys Great Taste, but at Lower Steak & Shake Prices,......" The Burgers are great,......Way better than a normal fast food burger, and at the same prices as Mcds and such. and the milk shake flavors (30 or so) and quality are way better than Dairy Queen or Sonic but at similar prices,... My 1 warning for people, if you try the pork BBQ here,....it is not the sweet Memphis style, or even Texas style, that most here in Georgia are used to, but instead, it's much more a vinegar based thing,......it tastes like Pork and Sour-Kraut. read more

I've never been very impressed with the quality or taste of the food here. I find the burgers to be bland and the fries usually soggy/cold. But it's fast food and thee prices are pretty cheep... So you kinda expect it. Some pros... They have a really large selection of milk shakes and if you get the cookout tray you get a lot of food for the price. They are also open very late if you want something to eat late at night. I tend to find myself coming here a lot because I work in a restaurant and I sometimes don't get off work till late. Most places are already closed and cookout is on my way home... I come here because its convenient and cheep... But give it a try if you want some cheep fast food... Its probably better than McDonald's. read more

I usually LOVE Cookout, but have not been impressed with the service at the Pooler location. They should definitely put thesr kids through customer service training before tossing them to work. Take a cue from Chick Fil A. Our orders have gotten messed up a few times as well, but the quality is still the same. I just keep hoping the next time will be better.... A great spot to stop for a quick lunch or dinner. Very inexpensive. Got 4 meals for $22! The meals are very big too! I love that you can mix a cheeseburger with sides of fries & a quesadilla or chicken strips with sides of corn dogs & chicken nuggets. There are a ton of options! And the "tray" which includes 1 main choice, 2 sides & a drink is just $4.99! There fries are delicious too! The burgers are good as well, mine was just very messy. The chicken quesadilla is a tad spicy but still good. Also, for $1 extra, you can turn your drink into one of their many milkshake options. The service is always quick, my food is ALWAYS correct, and the employees are always friendly. During my visit this time, I dealt with two of the best employees I've ever encountered. They were so polite and professional. My food, of course, was perfect. Cook Out is the best. The best food, the best shakes, and the best value- by far. You would never believe the amount of GOOD food that can be gotten for the price. They let you choose a main dish (The "Big double burger with cheese and bacon" is my favorite...) and two sides. And the sides can be another menu item. For example, a full sized corn dog and quesadilla. And a drink is included in the price, but for only $1 extra, upgrade it to one of over 40 shakes. Or have them mix many flavors! Drive thru service is always quick depending on how busy it is! Price point is awesome, I love that you can get a meal for under $6 with tax! & it's real food cooked right then n there. Not once (in 50 drive up orders) has the order taker understood that you can't start speaking until you press the button and you can't let the button go until you're done speaking. Very good food, but terrible customer service, guy at the window had a terrible attitude. Handed me my milkshakes and saw that straw had dropped on the ground and didn't give me a new straw, I actually had to request a new one. Food was not bagged before handed to me, unable to have my order taken at the speaker box because of technical difficulties on their part. Only Bad Cookout I have ever been to. I grew up with the original on High Point Rd so when I put Cookout in my GPS on my way back home to Florida after evacuating for hurricane Irma I decided that it was worth the wait to drive another 150 miles. Well I was supposed to arrive around 2:30 but it was actually 6:30 by the time I got there with traffic. Of course everyone else who evacuated must have been heading home as well. I understand this restaurant must have been busy today with all of the unexpected traffic but I was severely disappointed to find the lobby closed with no explanation, they were out of a number of things including BBQ ( which I had been thinking about the last 5 hours). I ordered a Cookout style burger only to find they had used someone else's buns and that was nearly frozen and my burger was pretty much all bread. Additionally the lanes were vastly uneven in pace. I was probably in line around 15 minutes before I was even able to attempt to order everything that they were out of. I know these guys are probably short-staffed today but id like to see them keep the quality that I expect and have known for around the past twenty years. read more

Decided to check this place out on a whim and was pretty impressed. The prices were SO cheap and unlike anything I've ever seen in NY; for about $6 I was able to get a "tray" with a cheeseburger (including the usual toppings as well as bacon) two corn dogs and fries! The food was actually pretty good especially on the run. The service was quick, but I did have to go back for my fries; however the guy who helped me was apologetic and fixed the mistake right away with no question. I'd recommend it and would keep it in mind for the next time I need some food on the go. read more
