We were in the mood for sonic one evening, so we placed a mobile order and headed to the drive-through. Once we arrived we checked in on the app, and fairly quickly our order was delivered. This was a Saturday evening and plenty of stalls were open and available for cars to pull in/order. We took our food home since we had ordered for a couple of people who didn't join us for the car ride. We had made several customizations to our order, and everything was correct! This was, without question, the worst experience I've ever had at a Sonic Drive-In. We spent nearly $50 on our order, and almost nothing about it was right. The problems started the moment we received our food. One entire cheeseburger combo was missing. The crispy chicken sandwich was made incorrectly despite the order being clearly customized. Both frozen drinks were either made wrong or were so melted that they were overflowing out of the cups before we even left the stall. I politely informed an employee about the missing burger and incorrect sandwich. What should have been a simple fix turned into an absolute circus. It took three different employees, including the manager, and five separate trips between the restaurant and our car before they finally managed to get the order right. The most disappointing part wasn't even the mistakes--it was the attitude. The blonde female manager acted like I was inconveniencing her because they failed to make the order correctly. There was no apology, no urgency, and no concern whatsoever that we had already been waiting while the rest of our food sat getting cold. By the time everything was finally corrected, the burgers, tots, fries, mozzarella sticks, and chicken bites were cold, and the frozen drinks were completely melted. We essentially paid $50 for food that was no longer worth eating. The restaurant itself looked dirty and run-down, which unfortunately matched the level of service we received. Fast food isn't cheap anymore. When customers are spending this kind of money, the expectation is simply to receive the order they paid for and to be treated with basic respect when mistakes happen. This location failed on both counts. Sonic corporate seriously needs to take a hard look at this restaurant. The food quality, order accuracy, customer service, and management all need immediate attention. This location is damaging the Sonic brand, and unless something changes, I won't be returning. Avoid this Sonic if you value your time and your money. read more

Sonic at Pooler near the outlets is unfortunately not a good location. I try my best to write positive reviews and be gracious when it comes to the food industry, but this location is not good. Time and time again, they have long waits AT the mic just for their first sentence to be that they are out of ice cream. I have heard them say that they are out of ice cream 4 times and it will be hours before they even close. What a mess of a store. Sat in the drive thru at the ordering box for 15 minutes asked if anyone was there multiple times. Go to the window to see if anyone was even in the store. Sure was, three people just standing there talking while there was a line behind me waiting for someone to even just say hold please. Service was horrible, took forever to get an order taken in a drive through. All of the kiosks "didn't work" and the lady working the drive through was incompetent checked what I ordered multiple times. No working ice cream machine and you wouldn't know other than a sign on the drive through. Food took forever to come out. Poor communication and an overall negative experience from one of my favorite places. I feel that this could be a great location if it is operated in a more efficient manner. Growing up in the province of Quebec which is the only province in Canada that is officially French, I grew up knowing maybe two handfuls of American chain restaurants. In Quebec, there are language laws to protect the preservation of the French language and when any company wants to enter the Quebec market, they have to translate all of their marketing materials, labeling, menus, etc. to French. So, this can be a hurdle for most and some just don't make it into Quebec for whatever reason. So, once I got married and moved over to the States, there were restaurants that my husband and friends were telling me about that I had never heard of before. Sonic Drive-In (SDI) was one such place. I had gone grocery shopping with a friend and we had already gotten in the car to drive back home, when we both agreed that we could use a little something to munch on. I had not had lunch and it's a funny thing, but you spend an hour and $100 on groceries and then you've lost all inspiration to cook. Well, as we are driving and about to approach the exit to the highway, she suggests SDI as it was coming up and on the same side of the road. Uh, ok. Sure? Why not, I guess. I had never been and I was bound to try it one day. That moment was a good time as any. - Set Up - As the name suggests, it's a drive-IN! I didn't know it was actually a drive-IN! You park like you would any parking lot and then having menus posted by the driver seat was pretty sweet! Every parking spot has menus! I didn't get the same order fright as I normally do when you go through a drive-THRU! haha. We could take our time reading the menu and believe me, I did. I always like to know ALL my options LOL! Then they bring the food to your car! Oh, ok! Thank you?! Well how about that?! I really liked the set up. Can you tell? - TLC - Whoever was behind the mic was pretty patient while I read the entire menu and the guys who brought the food out were nice. We needed a few more things like extra napkins and things and he went back in to get them for us. - Eats / Refreshments - Now onto why I have your attention... Chocolate milkshake - I have heard of SDI's famous pellet ice. The kind people like to chew, but I didn't have it in its original form. I'm assuming that they make their milkshakes with the ice, because I sucked up a few chunks that were not blended, but had that chewy texture. It was fine. The only thing I didn't like was the Whipped Topping. I LOVE Whipped CREAM and there's such a major difference between the two. My husband and I argue about this all the time. He loves Cool Whip and I can't stand it. Well, the whipped topping tasted like Cool Whip, so thumbs down on that from me, but no big deal. I just stopped drinking it once the whipped topping got to the bottom. The milkshake itself was fine. Coney Chili Hot Dog - In terms of flavor, it was the typical chili produced for chain restaurants. It wasn't my favorite, but the whole thing was made to order and tasted fresh so it served its purpose of providing a quick snack. All in all, I love the set up. Did I mention that yet?! Haha. I didn't feel as stressed when ordering so that was nice. Food? It's alright. I bet my kids would get a kick out of the set up! I just wouldn't want them to eat it in the car! LOL read more

Waited in line for 20 min to get 4 cherry limeaids. Finally received the drinks and all four were warm. Pulled around to the order board and asked for a cup of ice and was told they didn't have ice. Good afternoon, I used to work for this company at this location. One of the managers wears house slippers instead of non-slip shoes, the whole inside is a wreck. When you are in the drive-thru, the bushes have overgrown to where you are unable to see part of the menu board. I used to love working here, but I also felt I was being taken advantage of by some of the team members who constantly asked me for money. To top that off, there are bugs in the establishment. I do not know when the last time the pest control was there and the lawn care took care of the overgrown bushes. So we ended up across the street. Atmosphere - We sat on the tables instead of eating in our car. A little chill in the air but it felt good. Place was clean. I like that this one did not have the stand picnic tables; they were replaced with heavy metal chairs, much more comfortable. Food Appetizer - none Main Course - Went with number 1 combo. Hamburger and taters tots, the hamburger came in a tin foil bag but it is lined with paper so it is not an issue. Now they have Mello Yellow! Why to go Coke for getting that back into restaurants. Dessert - None Service - This location only hand one machine to order from in the seating area, it was dual sided so two people could order at the same time. Rare to give a 5 star review for a fast food place, but here goes! This location of Sonic is just outstanding on all fronts. I've been several times now, and every time has been excellent. The employees seem happy and attentive; the drive thru folks are easy to understand, and the drive up people are cheerful and accommodating. Every one of them that I came in contact with had a real smile on his/her face - they were congenial and polite. Each one of them were in clean, spiffy uniforms; and they all projected a positive attitude. The food is always fresh, hot, and tasty - it would be great if more healthy options were offered, but you know? It IS a fast food place, where one goes to get yummy food and drinks that aren't necessarily on a health food regimen! Some of the best fast food ever, every time. And when one adds in the bonus of happy hour drinks, 1/2 price milkshakes after 8 pm, and promotions that are delicious & affordable - you just can't beat it! I ordered a Route 44 Coke and a small order of mozzarella sticks. I ordered at 2:09, and at 2:33, my order was still not delivered. The drive thru cleared out 3 times, and I still hadn't received my food and drink! I went up to the door to request a refund, and two female carhops and a male manager gave me an attitude the whole time, dirty looks and I could hear them talking about me complaining! I don't get why everyone in Pooler loves sonic so much. I've given them two tries and both times the food was just pitiful. First time I had them I got a grilled chicken wrap. The tortilla was stuck to the wrapper and as soon as I got it away from the wrapper half the chicken fell out into the floor of my car. The half of the chicken that did not fall out was lukewarm and gross. I ended up throwing the whole thing away after one bite. This morning I got a BLT and it was basically a LT with one little strip of bacon in the middle. Wow!! We were on a road trip and have stopped at several Sonics along I-95, and this one was the best by far! Tots with cheese were spot on with the perfect texture of the tots crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Corndog was perfectly fried with a slightly crunchy shell also, but soft on the inside. Oreo Peanut Butter milkshake was delicious!! Love how Sonic has unique milkshake combinations. Huzzah for Sonic. The always innovative American fast-food standard. They are constantly adding the up-n-coming fads to their menu at just the right time. And this time, it's sweet potato tots. Their regular tots are worth a separate trip themselves but be sure to pick up the sweet taters too. Much unlike many other fast food joints out there, there isn't much on their menu I don't like. The coneys, or as commoners know them: the hot dogs. Layered with chili and cheese they can make a road trip complete - nothing beats trapping your friends in the car with locked windows and chili gas from sonic! Participate in a good ol' American pastime by seeing who can freeze the most brain cells the fastest with their lemon berry slush. I just went to this sonic and walked up to the window to watch the employees make my drinks. I ordered a route 44 cherry lime aid and a medium Oreo cheesecake master blast. I watched to see a man make my Route 44 Cherry lime aid, but had a little spill over on the lid. He proceeded to SUCK THE SPILL OVER OFF OF THE LID OF MY DRINK! My friend and I yelled in exclamation at what we witnessed and walked back to my car in disgust and a girl ran out the door yelling "do we have a problem?!" And we said "yes we do, that boy just drank off of my drink!" The girl insisted that it was his drink. But there's now way it was. He had already made drinks and sent them out the window.
