Stopped by here for a quick lunch on my way to my hotel after landing in Myrtle Beach. I saw all the good yelp reviews and traveling from Texas I've never seen a Cook Out before so I decided to try it out. I am a family of 4 with two young children and figured everyone could get something they like! Also it's a pretty good value! I got the chicken strips , cheese bites and onions and everything was delicious! All of my food was piping hot and definitely fresh. Unfortunately I am not a huge milkshake fan so I passed on that, but , I am sure they are tasty as well! My kids loved their chicken strips , nuggets and fries. A double cheeseburger, a quesadilla and a bacon wrap all come out to about $5.40 with tax. Wow, such an amazing deal. The only problem is the next day you'll feel like you ate a bag of razor blades. I was down in Myrtle Beach for a bachelor party which means between strip club visits we just needed any sort of nutrition. You won't find that here but you will find something to fill you up for cheap as shit. The old saying goes, "you get what you pay for," though. A particularly interesting experience dealt with one of our Ubers back from the strip club. The driver was the same guy that works behind the counter at Cook Out (and we knew this because we had seen him earlier that day). After negatively responding to taking us to Wendy's he talked us in to going to Cook Out. Then he ordered for us and somehow spent $80.00. That part didn't bother me, hell when you're drunk and hungry it's easy to get taken advantage of. The part that bothered me was the excruciating abdominal pain I had to bear for the remainder of the weekend. I half want to go to Cook Out again because it wasn't bad for the price. Cons- Well I wasn't really pleased with what I got. I got a medium barbecue tray. It was a pulled pork sandwich with like no bbq sauce, the coslaw being on the sandwich was not a very good combination. It was overall dry- i'm not a plain person so thats probably why I didn't like it as much. I also got hush puppies they weren't as good as long john silvers or anywhere else. My boyfriend liked everything more then I did. Pros- BUT I did get shake and it was FIRE. No other place has a banana pudding or blueberry cheesecake shake. Average fast food-nothing special. Burger was over cooked, slaw is watery & onion rings are tasteless. The milkshake was very good though. The price is reasonable so there is a lot of customer traffic. They don't take the time to clean the tables between uses. Therefore, they are dirty with a lot of food debris. After driving around starving and desperately searching for a restaurant open after 1am, we came across the Cook Out. And WOW, the food here was delicious!! I had the BBQ plate. It came with spicy barbecue, fries, coleslaw, and hushpuppies. My boyfriend had the original chargrilled chicken sandwich. He said it was very good. The staff was very accommodating and friendly, even bringing my food to our table because it took a little longer than his sandwich. I felt bad because there were a few drunk people hanging around the ordering station getting pretty rowdy but they handled it well. I wish we had these up North but if I ever come back again I will keep this place in mind. read more

If I could leave a zero start review I would! I went to cook out for lunch today. I am on vacation visiting family in the area so we all decided to get cook out since it's my favorite fast food place down here(normally go to the one in Conway will be going to that one for now on) . When myself and the other two parties placed there order when we got our food it was wrong. I understand getting things wrong so I just ask the cashier for my missing items. He begins to get an attitude and when I ask him what's wrong he proceeded to call my sister a bitch and flip her off. Brain the manager at this location is the worse manager I have ever dealt with and if cook out corporate office is smart they will fire Brian before they start loosing customers because of rude management. read more

Sooooo happy we have these joints in Jawga! Our last night in Myrtle Beach was pretty exhausting after a lot of time at the beach. And just being tourist. We didn't want to go to a dine in joint. I remembered saying I wanted to try this spot, as we have one in Jawga. Just never went for whatever reason. I read thru the reviews beforehand. So I was a little apprehensive. We enjoyed our food and the service. We actually pulled up before the rush came thru; literally! It got hella busy! I ordered the two chicken quesadillas plate and my daughter got a cheeseburger plate. The plate comes w/ the choice of an "entree" and two sides and a drink. I got a chicken wrap and fries and a "milkshake". And she got fries, a cheese quesadilla and a milkshake. Our food was bomb! Maybe because we ate there. Everything was hot and fresh! I will say, the milkshake was NOT a milkshake. We were disappointed in that as we expected to be able to DRINK the joint. And not have to eat it w/ a spoon. So, I ended up having to buy us drinks. But that doesn't change my review. We enjoyed the food. And I will be hitting them up at my nearest location!!! read more

4. 5 stars. Big, hot, fresh delicious double burger with everything plus tomato and cheese. 2/3 of it was great, the last 1/3, was slightly burnt. Sides were a Cajun chicken wrap and beef quesadilla. I have to agree that this fast food restaurant is like the "In and Out" of the south. The food is good and the prices are extremely cheap! This location has indoor seating and the drive thru is open until 4:30 am on Friday and Saturday nights. Famous for "The Tray", which includes (1) choice of burger, chicken sandwich, corn dogs, bbq, etc., (2) side items, and a drink. Sides include fries, onion rings, coleslaw, rounds, hush puppies and more. You can substitute the drink for a milkshake but there is an up charge. The milkshakes are thick which I absolutely love!!! This is less about this specific cook-out and more like a review of the whole corporation. Cook Out, without a doubt, is the best fast food establishment i have ever set my foot in. Most of the best tasting fast foods cost a fair amount, essentially saying "yes, the flavor is good, but at an upcharge." This is not the case with cook out. You get the best flavor at an absolute steal of a price. I think a tray costs like $6? and you're getting an entree, two sides, and a big drink? And for a small upcharge you can upgrade your drink to a milkshake. The milkshakes are absolutely decadent. Cheerwine is an option for soft drinks, and the sweet tea is great. The diversity of entrees and sides is great. You have burgers, chicken sandwiches, hot dogs, chicken tenders, quesadillas, and other stuff i've prolly forgot about. And then for sides you have everything from cheese curds to chicken nuggets to basic ole fries. Some other notable things are the overall aesthetic of the establishment, and some more functional things like the drive-thru design. This is a tried and true 10/10 fast food restaurant, and it is by far my favorite I've tried. read more

Look, you should be in line, right now! Just get the mexican hot dog (make that two or three mexican hot dogs) and the watermelon shake. I'm not sure what sort of witchcraft is at work with the hot dogs, but they will change you. Seriously, anything this good has to be evil... Why are you still sitting there? Yeah, yeah, I knoooow; I don't normally eat fast food either! I'm just saying, if you're gonna slip of the rails and the diet is gonna go sideways for the day, this is the place to do it. Every time I go there I order a large sweet tea with a barbecue plate. It is a dollar. Every single time they charge me for a xlarge @ $2.00 - I have given up trying to get what I want ( I may only drink 1/2 of large)-but according to an adolescent employee spending $2.00 instead of $1.00 is a good deal. At least 1/2 of the time I ask for no hot sauce on bbq they get it right. If they won't sell the large just take it off the menu and charge $2.00 for a drink like everyone else. read more

By far THE WORST cookout I've ever been to. Took about 30 minutes for my girlfriend to get her food. Including her within those 30 minutes they gave away 3 peoples meals to someone else. Half the staff acted like they didn't even care and the other half looked like chickens with their heads cut off. As my girlfriend was waiting for her food a women walked in, ordered, and within about 5 minutes had her food in hand. This place has everything completely backwards. Set up barricades that mislead people in to parking lot but not to drive thru then get accosted by rude rent a cops who threatened to pull a gun. As we tried to finally leave were cursed out by the active manager. He yelled foul slurs through the back door way... thought it was a Christian owned company.. apparently not based on how we were spoken to. Disgusted by the whole experience.
