We decided to come here to eat for something quick before we went to Broadway. I got a bacon smash burger without the bun and sweet potato fries. It was pretty good but it tasted like meat and cheese. Didn't have a lot of flavor. I loved the sweet potato fries because I usually prefer nothing on them anyways. Nice crunch to them as well. I had tasted my daughters fried shrimp and they were seasoned well and were way better than whatever else everyone had. I also tried my sister in laws onion rings. They were a 6/10. Breading was good but was falling off and the onion rings were huge. They'd be better if cut little smaller and thinner. read more

Burgers were hot and fresh but really lacked flavor. Very "meh" burgers. Tomatoes were not ripe which also made the burgers kind of "off". Fries were good. Coca Cola was good. Service was perfect. Love the vibe of this joint. Disappointing trend for River City as they seem to have gone downhill in the past few years. I used to think RCC set the standard in Myrtle Beach for burgers but not true any more. Way too many great options now. Bummer! read more

Went to the River City Cafe by the Dunes the other day - there's _seven_ locations, so they're doing something right :) I thought RCC had pretty good food (a burger), a suitable beach-divey vibe and location, location, location... I think if you're in the Myrtle Beach area, it'd almost be hard not to have eaten here once or twice before. The burger was alright and the service was quick. This place is a hidden little gem. It's tiny inside so very limited seating in there. The outside has picnic tables seating and a bit more room. They give free peanuts and you can throw your shells on the ground. Service was really good until the end when we tried to pay the bill it just took a really long time. Because it's a small venue, the wait was about 30 minutes and this was only about an hour until closing. Seems like a popular place among the locals and tourists both. A week after my own personal bad experience the Divine Corporate office that stated the Director of Operations would reach out to me has refused to contact me. I ate at the Barefoot Location in N. Myrtle and was there from 6pm to 7:03pm and paid for my food (I ordered the Philly Cheese Steak) on my credit card which I have the transaction proof. I was mistreated by a manager named Paul. Why did was I not reached out to? Because I am dating a now former employee. This is gross negligence and proof they do not care for paying customers depending on their relationship status. I stand my review and my own personal experience as this was not the first time that the manager named Paul has mistreated not only myself but individuals he works with. How have I never reviewed River City?! My family stays at Sand's Ocean Club every year (for probably over 20 years). Collectively, there isn't much on the menu that we haven't tried. I don't think we've ever had a "bad" order. Pretty much every appetizer is delicious, to the point where my mom finally caved and asked how they make the fried zucchini after several failed attempts of replicating them at home. I love the fried mushrooms and sweet potato fries. Yes, you have to dip them in their ranch dressing! Fries don't disappoint; burgers are so so good. Other family favorites include the grouper ruben and the ham and cheese. My two favorite sandwiches are the 3 alarm burger with ranch on the side and the buffalo chicken sandwich; give them a try if you like spicy! The staff are always great. The vibe is the best. My kids love coloring on the paper sheets covering the tables while we wait for our food. Recently, we got to Myrtle at noon and we forwent getting River City for lunch because we knew we were eating here for dinner. We ended up regretting not just getting apps for lunch here because lunch elsewhere was a bust. read more

These burgers were FANTASTIC!! The Nacho Crunch Burger was 15/10 probably the best burger I've ever had. The Banana Pepper Jack was really good too, but the other one was honestly perfect. My first time here, we stopped in the day we were checking out of our hotel. This location was in the hotel. The combos they have for the specialty burgers are very interesting. But I love trying different things. They have some of the best burgers!! They were cooked perfectly! The price and portions were good! when I come to Myrtle Beach the one place that I am dying to go to is River city. i've been coming to this location since for over 20 years now and i cannot say enough good things about this place. when I first started to come here I remember they used to give you peanuts that you were allowed to throw on the floor. since then they have stopped doing this (thank god) but they still have license plates all over the walls that you are able to sign. I have indeed signed a New Jersey plate in one of the booths which I love looking at when i come here! You also get to keep the cups they give you. Also this location it is right by Ocean Annie's so it's perfect to get that late night meal after a day of drinking! My go to meal when I come here is a plain cheeseburger with sweet potato waffle fries and with the boneless buffalo wings. I am actually obsessed with the boneless buffalo wings they are so good. what makes them different from other places is that the breading isn't as thick. my mom always gets the Philly cheesesteak with either gravy fries or the onion rings. I do have to say the onion rings are humongous so just beware when you're ordering those. I never had the gravy fries until this visit but I was pleasantly surprised on how good they were. read more

This is not a bad spot but its not the burger that everyone builds it up to be! They 3 Star rating is just to represent that its 'Okay' burger. This burger spot is hospitable, as the staff was great and I highly recommend the place for the quality of care the folks give you waiting on your table. However if you want a great burger Wendy's has better options, I'm dead serious. I would highly recommend the mozzarella poppers which are delicious as they are prepared with Garlic and parsley. The Onions rings were way to big, but if you like that it's great. The kids wings were okay. Excellent flavor, huge, and in a great beer batter, the onion rings were great and the dipping sauce was on point. Famous for their burgers (my wife had a mushroom Swiss burger that was terrific), I strayed from the normal list and ordered a Cajun season mahi sandwich. I loved it. The fish was flaky and not over cooked. The seasoning was not over the top and the Tartar sauce was not too sweet. All locations are great. Very casual. Flip flops and bathing suits with cover ups are the norm. The burgers are all very good. Highly recommend splitting and don't miss the drinks! You can get a burger just about anywhere nowadays but if you really want the best you have to go to River City. With so many choices it's hard sometimes to pick the one you like the most. Had a few Grape Ape's and they are REALLY good if ratios are poured properly, so it is definitely a hit or miss. I got the mac and cheese burger. I was disappointed it did not come with lettuce or tomato or any toppings. The burger was cooked good. The mac and cheese part had no flavor to it. Very creative but needs more flavoring. I saw pictures of waffle fries for the sweet potatoes and was excited but was served regular shaped fries. It was very busy but service wasn't terrible. The outside area was cute to eat.
