Another fantastic meal at River City Cafe! This is a must-visit stop during every Myrtle Beach vacation for our family. The service was absolutely top-notch. Our waitress was friendly, attentive, and truly made the experience even better. Between the four of us, we ordered several different burgers, and every one of them was excellent. Great flavor, cooked perfectly, and served hot and fresh. It's hard to beat a great burger after a day at the beach, and River City Cafe never disappoints. Already looking forward to our next visit! read more

Such a nice surprise on the beach! Tucked away next to the pool at Ocean Annie's you might walk by without a thought. Don't! The burgers are awesome and my companions enjoyed their orders as well. Try their onion rings! I also stopped by for chili the following day. Very nice portion and seasoned perfectly! read more

We decided to come here to eat for something quick before we went to Broadway. I got a bacon smash burger without the bun and sweet potato fries. It was pretty good but it tasted like meat and cheese. Didn't have a lot of flavor. I loved the sweet potato fries because I usually prefer nothing on them anyways. Nice crunch to them as well. I had tasted my daughters fried shrimp and they were seasoned well and were way better than whatever else everyone had. I also tried my sister in laws onion rings. They were a 6/10. Breading was good but was falling off and the onion rings were huge. They'd be better if cut little smaller and thinner. read more

River City Cafe - "OMG" Burger - Burgers Near Me - Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

The service is very good and the burgers are great and the beer is cold. All my favorite things.

Burgers were hot and fresh but really lacked flavor. Very "meh" burgers. Tomatoes were not ripe which also made the burgers kind of "off". Fries were good. Coca Cola was good. Service was perfect. Love the vibe of this joint. Disappointing trend for River City as they seem to have gone downhill in the past few years. I used to think RCC set the standard in Myrtle Beach for burgers but not true any more. Way too many great options now. Bummer! read more

Service was fast and the food was good. Got seated realy fast and had a good spot looking out over the beach read more

Went to the River City Cafe by the Dunes the other day - there's _seven_ locations, so they're doing something right :) I thought RCC had pretty good food (a burger), a suitable beach-divey vibe and location, location, location... I think if you're in the Myrtle Beach area, it'd almost be hard not to have eaten here once or twice before. The burger was alright and the service was quick. I was a bit surprised by the size of the cocktails though, not a 'great' value in that department. read more

Ate here twice while staying In Myrtle beach. Anthony was our server the first time and was awesome. Margaritas were good . Both burgers were good . Onion rings were huge . Came another time, tried the wings which were really good, double fried yet juicy. My husband liked his burger but thought the first time was better . It was also super busy when we went . Had a cheesesteak which was alright . Def preferred the double smash burger with the thousand island dressing read more

Easy parking. Great service. Cheese steak was very good . Wife said hamburger was delicious. Ambience was pub like All and all Great experience read more

This place is a hidden little gem. It's tiny inside so very limited seating in there. The outside has picnic tables seating and a bit more room. They give free peanuts and you can throw your shells on the ground. Service was really good until the end when we tried to pay the bill it just took a really long time. Because it's a small venue, the wait was about 30 minutes and this was only about an hour until closing. Seems like a popular place among the locals and tourists both. Burgers were good and the cheese curds were A++. read more

I stayed at Sands Ocean Club and visited for lunch. I got the Palmetto burger with bacon and a side of onion rings. The service was friendly and quick. The food was yummy. read more

This rustic hometown cafe is within the Sands Ocean Club resort. They operate seasonally March - October. Thus are closed November through February. The food is amazing. Huge world famous burgers and onion rings. The service is fair; I would say it is rustic like the whole feeling you get being here. License plates on the wall, old coke signs to go with the old coke machine. read more

A week after my own personal bad experience the Divine Corporate office that stated the Director of Operations would reach out to me has refused to contact me. I ate at the Barefoot Location in N. Myrtle and was there from 6pm to 7:03pm and paid for my food (I ordered the Philly Cheese Steak) on my credit card which I have the transaction proof. I was mistreated by a manager named Paul. Why did was I not reached out to? Because I am dating a now former employee. This is gross negligence and proof they do not care for paying customers depending on their relationship status. I stand my review and my own personal experience as this was not the first time that the manager named Paul has mistreated not only myself but individuals he works with. To see my original review, it was posted on March 9th and I ate there on March 8th of 2025. The server Jo was amazing and so was the remaining staff that I interacted with. read more

Disgusting. Dont eat here All I ordered was cheese fries 11:30 in am and they were cold , extraordinary greasy and old already . had them retry at least got this time but grease not drained at all . Cheese cold underneath. Ended throwing away second order as well . Had high hopes since other ones have been town around and great for decades . "Manager/host?" Just stood by register That was in black chants fleece Didn't even apologize and tried to argue with me they were fresh ... The young lady Cashier that took to go order was nice and also a taller thin lady wearing cross body waist bag checked on me to make sure taken care of. Only reason rated higher star due to those two read more

How have I never reviewed River City?! My family stays at Sand's Ocean Club every year (for probably over 20 years). Collectively, there isn't much on the menu that we haven't tried. I don't think we've ever had a "bad" order. Pretty much every appetizer is delicious, to the point where my mom finally caved and asked how they make the fried zucchini after several failed attempts of replicating them at home. I love the fried mushrooms and sweet potato fries. Yes, you have to dip them in their ranch dressing! Fries don't disappoint; burgers are so so good. Other family favorites include the grouper ruben and the ham and cheese. My two favorite sandwiches are the 3 alarm burger with ranch on the side and the buffalo chicken sandwich; give them a try if you like spicy! The staff are always great. The vibe is the best. My kids love coloring on the paper sheets covering the tables while we wait for our food. Recently, we got to Myrtle at noon and we forwent getting River City for lunch because we knew we were eating here for dinner. We ended up regretting not just getting apps for lunch here because lunch elsewhere was a bust. read more

These burgers were FANTASTIC!! The Nacho Crunch Burger was 15/10 probably the best burger I've ever had. The Banana Pepper Jack was really good too, but the other one was honestly perfect. The atmosphere was great. Perfect spot for dinner to grab a few drinks and a bite. Price was very fair for the food we ordered. Our server was so kind and checked up on us often. Definitely recommend River City Cafe if you're staying in Myrtle Beach!! read more

If you're coming from a different North Myrtle beach hotel, just know that this restaurant is located inside a different resort/hotel and ask the front desk where it is because we got lost Can't beat the prices of these burgers, like that OMG Burger was ~$15 and had two grilled cheese sandwiches with the burger stuff AND onion rings AND fries Mushroom and Swiss burger was great as well!! The only downside would be the Mac & Cheese Burger... why use Kraft mac and cheese Also, I know in other cafes the wait is usually quite long (our friend visited a different location), but it was pretty fast at this location because they were only doing take out that specific day we went. read more

Great place for burgers! Dylan was our server, great service!!! First time at this location. Several burger choices to choose from. They are a great size, thick beef patty NOT DRY! 10/10. they had some great beers too. read more

We never got served or even acknowledged. Worst customer service ever. We just went in for my daughter's birthday and they were nothing but rude and lazy. I will never go there again. Was totally ignored by everyone. I didn't think they even deserved one star but I had to pick one. read more

My first time here, we stopped in the day we were checking out of our hotel. This location was in the hotel. The combos they have for the specialty burgers are very interesting. But I love trying different things. They have some of the best burgers!! They were cooked perfectly! The price and portions were good! We enjoyed our meal so much, we ended up stopping back by later that day on our way home! Lol Although we got the specialty burgers, they have regular ones too. And other things besides burgers. I've been several times since then, but forgot to take pics lol. There are several locations in Myrtle Beach. This visit was a while back, but I've been several times since then. Always delicious! read more

when I come to Myrtle Beach the one place that I am dying to go to is River city. i've been coming to this location since for over 20 years now and i cannot say enough good things about this place. when I first started to come here I remember they used to give you peanuts that you were allowed to throw on the floor. since then they have stopped doing this (thank god) but they still have license plates all over the walls that you are able to sign. I have indeed signed a New Jersey plate in one of the booths which I love looking at when i come here! You also get to keep the cups they give you. Also this location it is right by Ocean Annie's so it's perfect to get that late night meal after a day of drinking! My go to meal when I come here is a plain cheeseburger with sweet potato waffle fries and with the boneless buffalo wings. I am actually obsessed with the boneless buffalo wings they are so good. what makes them different from other places is that the breading isn't as thick. my mom always gets the Philly cheesesteak with either gravy fries or the onion rings. I do have to say the onion rings are humongous so just beware when you're ordering those. I never had the gravy fries until this visit but I was pleasantly surprised on how good they were. read more

This is not a bad spot but its not the burger that everyone builds it up to be! They 3 Star rating is just to represent that its 'Okay' burger. This burger spot is hospitable, as the staff was great and I highly recommend the place for the quality of care the folks give you waiting on your table. However if you want a great burger Wendy's has better options, I'm dead serious. I would highly recommend the mozzarella poppers which are delicious as they are prepared with Garlic and parsley. The Onions rings were way to big, but if you like that it's great. The kids wings were okay. So it comes down to your personal preferences you may like some of their options but for this discriminating New Yorker I must say I'll pass on this spot for Burgers. read more

Never in my life have I ordered onion rings, received only two rings, and I was still unable to finish them. Excellent flavor, huge, and in a great beer batter, the onion rings were great and the dipping sauce was on point. Famous for their burgers (my wife had a mushroom Swiss burger that was terrific), I strayed from the normal list and ordered a Cajun season mahi sandwich. I loved it. The fish was flaky and not over cooked. The seasoning was not over the top and the Tartar sauce was not too sweet. I have no doubt we will be back for lunch at least once more time before we leave the beach. read more

This was an interesting experience. The service was commendable, food was worth the money, and the restaurant has some unique decor. We were all surprised when we were approached by a photographer offering to photograph our table and then proceeded to print our photos off and try to sell them to us. Hate to complain so much on only the 2nd day of our vaca but the service in here was atrocious, the food subpar and no cell nor wifi, a tech balck hole. The view was abissmal as well, (see People of Walmart) They didn't want to let us take a table, place was fairly empty) bc we'd ordered to go food but now decided to eat inside. I told them I planned on order drinks from them, so it was still wait service. Gave me attitude about the remainder of my drink from ocean Annie's next door, even tho I'd ordered new drinks. Did not check on us at all. Waitress and bartender(couldn't tell if there was a bartender or just multiple people filling in). Had to ask the lady at to-go for beer and check. The to go food I asked about a few stiles and was told it wasn't ready, until 10 min later when she remembered it cooling behind her. The Philly made.me reinforce my stance on not eating food specialties outside of their home(phillys in PA, pizza in NY, most things in NY, etc) will never order pizza outside of NY. If you like dominoes or pizza hut, I feel bad for you). read more

We went on a day they were short staffed and had take out only. The girl who took our order was amazing in both her attitude and ability to stay calm, kind, and professional while she was handling all the customers on her own! The guys in the kitchen made the tastiest burger I have had in a long time! They even served it on lettuce because I can't eat gluten. Fun place, and I'd love to try again to have the full experience when they are fully staffed and can have their dining room and bar fully opened. read more

Well we came in off travel season so half the of the menu online isn't even available the lady said they had no way to update it but they really need to find a way because I came for something that wasn't even available they don't even have certain sodas available because they will be closing up soon which I get but it's just kinda weird to go expecting things that you can't even get .. nice environment definitely gave bar vibes didn't like that the same drink non alcoholic vs alcohol (cost more) was smaller overall wasn't bad but read more

Not a fan. The food wasn't really good, and both my husband and I felt I'll after eating there.

All locations are great. Very casual. Flip flops and bathing suits with cover ups are the norm. The burgers are all very good. Highly recommend splitting and don't miss the drinks! Grouper fingers are my favorite. Seems weird. Groupers don't have fingers. But they are so good and the helping is big! Staff is always good and salt of the earth. read more

When you feel like a burger there's only one place to go for the best burger in Myrtle beach! You can get a burger just about anywhere nowadays but if you really want the best you have to go to River City. With so many choices it's hard sometimes to pick the one you like the most. We love the one in Surfside the best it's right there on the ocean. read more

Had a few Grape Ape's and they are REALLY good if ratios are poured properly, so it is definitely a hit or miss. I got the mac and cheese burger. I was disappointed it did not come with lettuce or tomato or any toppings. The burger was cooked good. The mac and cheese part had no flavor to it. Very creative but needs more flavoring. I saw pictures of waffle fries for the sweet potatoes and was excited but was served regular shaped fries. It was very busy but service wasn't terrible. The outside area was cute to eat. It would be nice for them to have live music out there especially with their long wait times or they could add more seating out there. read more
