This place is awful. Every single time something is wrong. I mean, 5 cheese curds. Come on. And we used to get mint Oreo shakes but they are never mint. Just regular Oreo. We've gone back several times to get it fixed but they still can't seem to get it right. We used to love Cook Out but I'd rather wait 30 minutes at Sonic than go here.

Milkshake from this place that sucks

Literally been craving a good milkshake for a while so I went last night and got strawberry cheesecake one (sounds delicious I know right), this was at like 150 am or something so they were busy but not slammed right. I get going down the road and hit my milkshake and it was literally warm and disgusting like it had been just sitting there in count counter for like 30 minutes. Today just now at 8 pm I go and get another thinking it was a fluke. I kid you not this this is cooler but definitely not cold or frozen like the milkshakes I remember from here. I can literally pour this crap out. I will never be giving cookout money again. This is insane look at this.

A lack of competence and professionalism is generally expected when attending a cookout, somehow tonight, I was astounded by their avoidance to reasonable customer service. After ordering Three milkshakes, and receiving two back, i respectfully stopped and requested for an order change. The third milkshake was stricken from the receipt, so i paid for a new one. upon recieving the third milkshake, i was alerted that one of the two original milkshakes was made wrong. I ordered an "Oreo mint" milkshake, which is usually green, and a regular Oreo milkshake which is white. Both of the milkshakes were white.... In my confusion, I requested that the milkshake be made properly. Instead of problem solving like a normal adult, the cashier requested a manager come speak with me. After explaining the situation and showing him the milkshake, he proceeded to comment that "Thats green, and I know It's not just the lighting making it green." silly me: i should've known?! Except, there were two other people in the vehicle with me who could attest to the fact that said milkshake, was not in fact "green" and was not in fact "mint" My night was absurd, and through my anger i managed to embarrass myself less than the cookout community in that instant. I would like to request the owner of the cook out on concord parkway south contact me directly so we may discuss this incident.

Do not come to this Cook Out location unless you want to argue with the manager about a mistake that his employees made. Tonight we ordered three milkshakes, and then we only got two. And one of the two that we received was not the correct flavor. When we told the lady at the window, she immediately ran to get a manager who instead of trying to solve their error, he chose to argue with us very aggressively. He said that "the light" made the milkshake look like a different color, but I literally tasted the milkshake and knew that is was not mint Oreo, and it was white. We had to pay extra to get an actual mint milkshake, in which the manager stated that he put "extra mint" in it. It just looked like a normal mint milkshake, proving that he was wrong. I will attach a picture of the Oreo milkshake and the mint oreo as proof. He returned after we received our new milkshake to argue with us more about their incompetent work and we drove off to avoid further verbal attack. Would not recommend anyone come to this location and I will never be back. I would like to contact the owner directly about this problem as well.

I had an okay experience at this Cook Out today. The food was acceptable and pretty cheap. We went to the walk-up window instead of the drive-thru today. They had a sanitation grade of 96.0 posted on the window. I ordered a char grilled chicken sandwich- barbecue style. My wife ordered a barbecue sandwich tray with fries and onion rings. When we got to the car we had two chicken sandwiches. We decided to just keep the messed up order and eat it to save time. The food tasted okay. This location has outside seating. There's a row of picnic tables beside the parking lot. There's no inside seating.

they gave me a SOGGY, skinny ass chicken sandwich, with BARELY any chicken.

Found a tiny chicken bone in my tray UNDER my fries.... They don't sell nothing that includes bones so please tell me wtf is THAT doing there?! Disgusting. On top of that, they gave me a SOGGY, skinny ass chicken sandwich, with BARELY any chicken in it. So disgusting. do not waste your money on this place I'd rather eat a Jean jacket than come here.. a disgrace to the Lord. Service was ok. Ambiance- terrifying.

Cookout is a great spot for fresh food on the go! I love to mix and match their cookout tray, where you choose two delicious sides and a drink, you dive a few feet to the pick up window where your food has out fresh and hot! The cheese fries and the seasoned fries are both great and the shakes are so thick and creamy you can't even get it through the straw! Oh and the huge tea is just that a "huge tea" sweetened just right! Great place for fast food on the go!

Glob of hair in my daughter's milkshake!!

NEVER and I mean NEVER eat at this place. I order food here last night for my family and I, it was disgusting. My daughter ordered a snickers milk shake to end up finding a LUMP OF HAIR in it.

I'm not a fan of fast food BUT Cookout is the exception. We make at least one stop here ever time we come to North Carolina. I pretty much always get the same thing; Bug Double with cheese and a Banana Shake. The burgers have that grilled flavor that makes them taste so good. I think they use shredded cheese but it's melted perfectly on the burger. Their shakes are fantastic. I usually get banana fudge or banana. They are super thick and have chunks of banana in it. Keep in mind when coming here that they only have outdoor seating with their walk up counter along with two drive through lanes. Love this place for a good quick burger.

Two star solely on their milkshakes. The food was awful, so bad. It is definitely cheap and it tastes it.

Optimist Hall itself is a very food-centric, upscale food hall with a ton of vendors, so the atmosphere is energetic and fun. Seating can be a little challenging during peak dinner hours since so many people are grabbing food from different spots, but when the weather is nice there's plenty of outdoor seating. Harriet's keeps their burger formula refreshingly simple. It's a classic smash burger done right--made to order with a straightforward menu that doesn't overcomplicate things. There's usually a line, but it moves pretty quickly, and the burgers come out hot and fresh. One of the best parts of eating here is the flexibility of the food hall experience. While you're waiting, you can grab a craft beer, a glass of wine, or even browse for dessert from one of the other vendors. Insider tip: Come with a group if you can. It's a great place to share fries and let everyone explore different vendors around the hall. Parking is fairly easy with the nearby garage, which makes the whole experience even more convenient. Overall, Harriet's is a fun, delicious stop for a smash burger, especially if you're already enjoying the energy of Optimist Hall.

I live super close to Optimist Hall, so it's been on my radar for a while. This particular night I wasn't feeling great, so I DoorDashed instead of dining in. I ordered the Royale with crispy fries and let me just say... I get it. The burger was genuinely impressive. The quality of the beef stood out immediately. Juicy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. The meat to bun ratio was spot on, which is crucial. Nothing worse than a bread heavy burger. The lettuce and tomatoes were fresh, the build was balanced, and even after delivery, everything held up beautifully. So far I've tried two burger spots in Charlotte, and this one takes the top spot. I'm not ready to declare it the best in the entire city just yet because my burger tour is ongoing, but right now it's leading the race. I'll definitely be going to Optimist Hall soon to try it fresh off the grill and experience the service and atmosphere firsthand. Expect an update. But based on this first round alone, Harriet's is absolutely worth the order. Burger lovers, this one deserves a try.

I loved the decor inside and the wall art hanging by our booth. To drink, I tried the Daddy's Dragonberry (10/10) very refreshing and fruity. It was also strong and gave a good buzz. To eat, we started with an Onion Rings basket (10/10) they were hot and fresh and the sauce served with them was yummy. I also ordered the Bistro burger with Parmesan truffle fries (10/10) my burger was flavorful, all of the toppings meshed well together and the fries were fresh and crispy. My meal was sooo good!! Thrilled to find this because then the whole family was happy. Hostess was so speedy to seat us which we greatly thanked her as we were all quite hungry and it was quite past a few family members normal lunch times! Our server Savannah was helpful and pointed out all the of the seasonal specials when we asked what she would recommend and if there are any new items on the menu. Whole family liken the brie and bacon bites and cranberry sauce that comes with them. I asked if they had any mocktails and was delighted that not only did they but Savannah recommended one that I totally loved. We regularly doordash Bad Daddy's and I think that their tater tots are stand out. This location was no exception. They are the perfect texture and flavor every time. We ordered an assortment of burgers and everyone's order arrived exactly as requested from temp to which items or condiments to be included. They grabbed us some mayo when we asked for some for the tater tots. Whole family sans me loved the specialty sauce they make. It was ok but I am also not as into sauces as the rest of the fam :) For dessert we ordered the Oreo cheesecake and the banana pudding. Both were phenomenal and everyone was thrilled with. Excellent banana pudding flavors, texture and layers. I think may be one of the best I have ever had. Definitely in my top 5. Family that had the Oreo cheesecake loved it, thought it was a unique take and did not leave any on the plate nor did they need a to go bag. I found all the desserts to be a shareable size for us. Would absolutely return and recommend!

The restaurant was a ghost town on a Sunday evening. Maybe everyone is still eating Thanksgiving leftovers? Since there were 3 of us, we opted for an order of 3 tenders, 3 sliders, and 3 fry flavors. It was definitely enough for us to all share. The tenders were nice and crispy and the sweet chili sauce was good. I picked the Green Flag slider with bacon and pickles, very tasty. The little burger was cooked perfectly. For the fries we went with beer cheese and bacon, MW dusted, and Cajun. The Cajun were the best of the 3. The MW dust is a little on the sweet side which I didn't mind because I was dipping mine in the leftover sweet chili sauce. I was hoping to be able to pick tots as one of the 3 options but it was fries or tots, no mixing. I was also a little disappointed that the entrees options did not come with any sides. Since they were dead, the hostess was also our server. She was sweet. She answered all of our questions with ease. She didn't check back as much as I would have preferred for refills and the check but it wasn't a terrible wait. I think I was just ready to hit the road for the long ride home. They have a serious number of TVs for a sports bar so I'm sure if you are a football fan, you'll be able to watch your game, or better yet, a NASCAR race once the season starts back in February.
