I was looking forward to trying Cook Out on my vacation and I was not disappointed! The trays are an amazing price for the amount of food you get and the side options are unmatched (a quesadilla as a side sold me) Also, they had the best fast food ranch I've ever tried!

I had to stop in here the other day while we were in town because we don't have a cook out where I live so anytime I see one always try to stop there cause they have fantastic deals and I got great greasy food out really soaks up in that you need to soak up and it's a lot of fun going here it's always a good atmosphere and always enjoy the food my kids liked it I liked it it was great

Apparently picked the wrong line to be stuck in for over an hour!!!!!

Literally sat in line for OVER one hour here trapped while the other drive through line moved along. Staff doesn't know how to work short handed so instead of splitting food between two windows one line moves along and the other doesn't. I mean seriously. Elementary kids can do better. No wonder everything is closed in this city- no one wants to work and the people who do work are racking up hours doing nothing. Guy at the window just stands there looking out- if you're short handed HELP by actually doing something to get food our the window and money in the restaurant. We could have walked across the street and built a sofa at Rooms to go in the time we were stuck in this crusty parking lot. DO BETTER. Wish we could have hopped across bushes to get out of the line we were completely trapped in.

Good for the price and speed of service. Was impressed with the thickness of the burger, and the shake & float were above average

Food is decent here. It is fast food that is a step up from most fast food chains. Fast service. They often don't get the order right.

Mama Mac (BBQterie board)- Brisket was cooked perfectly, but did not have much flavor or seasoning. Pulled pork was my favorite of what we had- that was seasoned wonderfully and cooked perfect. The wings (dry rubbed and smoked) were yum. Collards were good. Baked beans were good but super sweet. Cole slaw was nothing special. Pickles were super sweet as well. The BBQ sauces were great we tried all 3. Our favorite was the cheerwine one. They were out of 2 appetizers and potato salad which was supposed to come with the barbequterie board, so they let us choose what to sub it with. We picked cowboy caviar which ended up being okay, not much flavor there. The salad in a jar was good, you dump it into a bowl yourself. The jar was great because everything on the salad was portioned perfectly! Loved the chicken in the salad too. Only waited a few minutes for a table at 2:30p on a Sunday holiday weekend. There is an attached free parking lot and we were able to get a spot, but when we left there were no spots left and someone was waiting for our spot. There is street parking as well.

If I was rating this place on the taste of the burgers alone, it would hands down be 5 stars. These are simply the best fast food burgers that you've NEVER HAD. In other words, fast food burgers reimagined with all the taste you crave, but without the crap ingredients and weird bloaty aftereffects. These are fast food burgers the way they should be. That said, the prices reflect that. The burgers are good sized with two patties, but they run $12 for a beef smash burger or $14 if you opt for the Impossible Burger (which you can get with regular "freedom cheese" and sauce or with vegan cheese and sauce). They offer a "combo" for $3 more, but it's a bag of chips and sour patch gummy candy for dessert. Based on that, my recommendation for now is to just go with the burger and enjoy it on its own. If the owners see this review, here's my suggestion: invest in a really good fryer and do the same thing you've done with fast food burgers, but for french fries, too. I'm sure frying units are a pain with the cooking oil, extreme heat and all, but it would be so great to have the FULL fast food experience reimagined. Service was friendly. Multiple indoor and outside seating options, and you can take the burgers over to any of the areas of DayTrip to enjoy your burger with a beer or cocktail. DayTrip's beer menu even includes a [canned] beer called Boy Howdy that DSSOLVR produces to go along with the Boy Howdy burgers. That's a better combo! This place is so much better than most burger places that even with the relatively pricey burgers, I'll go back. I'd go back more often if they served really great french fries along with the burgers!

Christian the bar tender recommended the Mochiko chicken bowl and knew his STUFF about Mai tai's. I was concerned about Hawaiian food, having experienced the island. It tends to be mild and sometimes overly beige. This food was NOT THAT. The Mochiko bowl was a fusion dish I'd order weekly if I lived here. It reminds me of the blended culture of the islands where so many come together. We also had the burger, a solid example of the smash craft BUT the best GD sweet potato fries I've ever had. Believe me. I've had some fries. The Mai tai, while non-traditional was lovely. They do recommend reservations. Highly recommend this place.

We would have gotten in line earlier if we had known. There is both indoor and outdoor seating. If it is raining, the outdoor tables can still get wet even with the umbrellas. I got sprinkled on a bit during the light rain until I changed seats. The winner for me was the Hawaiian Combo with Huli Sue's chicken, pork katsu (breaded, fried pork), and three huge sweet chili shrimp, along with rice, Hawaiian macaroni salad, and pickled cabbage. Even my husband perked up with a "Yum!" when I gave him some of the chicken. He ordered the BBQ Sampler with prime beef brisket, pulled pork, and pork ribs, plus cornbread and coleslaw. The brisket was his favorite. The ribs had some of the white knuckle-like cartilage and connective tissue that you had to eat around, which I didn't particularly like. Several different BBQ sauces were brought to the table so you could choose the ones you liked. I would say the Hawaiian Combo was my favorite meal in Asheville--and normally, I don't even order chicken at a restaurant. That chicken was worth ordering.
