We also had to leave our apartment at the end of the month leaving us with a very tight 3 week timeframe. Ian came out the same day we called him. He inspected the house, gave us advice on what to reno and what to leave alone. He also gave us a clear list of what he would repair/replace in the house and gave us a reasonable price. He began work immediately to meet our deadline. His crew were helpful and respectful. Ian also had a "guy" for everything. He handled a sub that refinished our hardwood floors, he reconstructed our bathroom, he replaced all of kitchen cabinets and countertops. He had an electrical sub that replaced all of our sconces and added high hats in rooms we requested. He had a sub that removed and repaired broken windows. Literally any issue we brought to Ian he would make a plan and have someone working on it within days. When we had unexpected issues with the reno (unavoidable in a house this old), Ian immediately brought it to our attention, had a plan for resolving, and was up front if there was going to be additional costs. We always felt like he was trying to help us out and avoid wasting money. At the end of the day, Ian met our 3 week deadline. We were able to move in on time without having to worry about unpacking and navigating around work crews. He came thru on whatever we asked him for. I could not recommend him enough.

We hired them to open up the first floor of our Cape Cod, and they completely helped me re-imagine the space taking down several walls to create a true open-concept layout. Along the way they installed new hardwood floors across the entire first floor, redid our shower, replaced both toilets, moved our washer and dryer, and prepped all the groundwork for our kitchen renovation. The craftsmanship throughout was outstanding. The part that really earned our trust is they delivered on what they promised AND THEN SOME! They finished within the estimate they quoted, and they were remarkably fast and efficient without ever cutting corners. Glen and his crew went above and beyond at every turn. His entire team was helpful, friendly, and easy to work with from the first day to the last. I would name them all here because I've gotten to know them personally, but I'll let you experience it first hand! After buying a house that "needed work" the thought of finding a contractor to help us bring it to…read morethe level we were looking for (in the timeframe we had in mind and most importantly the budget) turned out to be a complicated process. My wife and I first attended the Home Show at the Nassau Coliseum to start getting some ideas and meet a few contractors but we quickly found out that that you never really know what you are getting as the opinions and thoughts from each contractor we met varied greatly. After leaving the show we decided to tap our friends and family for contractors they trusted and after compiling that list I decided to check Angie's List for local contractors for if nothing else another option to have. At the end of the information gathering process I was staring at a list of eight contractors to interview, all of which were family or friend referrals except one. On Angie's List we found Dreamwork Remodeling and from the get go Tony was responsive to my inquiry (within an hour we had setup an appointment for that week). When my wife and I met Tony at the house his attention to detail and interpersonal manner impressed us quite a bit compared to others we had met with to that point. He was realistic and even to two people who were not "in the business" we liked the ideas and vision he discussed with us in the short hour we met to walk through what we had in mind. And you could tell he would be personally present and on site for the entirety of the project. After the painstaking interview process we had enough quotes to make a decision and part of the reason we went with Dreamwork was due to the detail Tony presented in the quote. It was very specific and itemized which I found very useful to know exactly what was included and what was not from the get go for planning purposes. He had details down to the model of skylight he would install and the type of thermostats which to me took some of the mystery and unknown out of the large, multi month project we were about to embark on. Once we compared the numbers, Tony's quote was one of the more reasonable options (he was middle of the pack price wise). We decided to go with him after checking an extensive list of references he provided some of which my wife and I ended up knowing indirectly which helped give us confidence that we were picking the right person for the job. He also worked with me on his final number to get us where we wanted to be price wise without sacrificing too much which I certainly appreciated. After paying the deposit Tony's crew began demo work in about a week's time and from then I had a feeling we had hired the right person, strangely enough the one contractor who was somewhat "random" and had not done work for any of our friends or family. His crew was professional and he sent me pictures of his progress from day one so we could track how things were going. We had many calls and meetings at the house throughout the project and not once did I feel like we were just a number, he treated our house like it was his own in terms of the work done but also the sensitivity around the budget. Once the demo was done we began planning our kitchen and the other design elements of the job and Tony was personally involved in every aspect of it offering insightful advice along the way based on experience and with our budget in mind. Not once did I feel he was trying to "upsell" us to do anything that wasn't in the contract. I am a very analytical detailed person by trade so I was skeptical of this every step of the way based on what others had said but this was not an issue for us at all throughout the job. The only things that ended up costing us more were our choice to do and sensible things not just a tack on so his sub could get in extra days work. Even the elements of the project that ended up costing us more than what was in the quote ended up being in the spirit of doing the right thing and future proofine which is critical when you are taking on a project of this size. For example, once the interior sheetrock was removed my wife didn't like the look of the old radiators we had intended on keeping and Tony suggested removing them and going with a gravity system (not forced air) to heat the house and remove the radiators at no additional cost which has turned out to be a great suggestion as I sit here in December writing this. Another example of this would be the insulation, at no additional cost to me Tony suggested insulating the outside walls with spray foam as opposed to standard fiberglass insulation which I feel also added significant value to the house and has already paid off in terms of energy efficiency. Tony has his own crew of six or so guys who were here day in and day out (sometimes on weekends) through the heat of the summer to complete our project on time, and our neighbors mentioned several times how hard they saw the crew working every day as we were not living in the home while this project was happening.

I am a stickler for detail and for true mastery of one's craft. From the initial design consultation and site measurements to the installation of the cabinets, countertops, and backsplash, your entire team demonstrated exceptional professionalism. You are consummate professionals in every sense. Our designer, Troy, was outstanding. He listened carefully, made excellent recommendations, and clearly knows his craft extremely well. Stephanie was just as helpful -- from taking our calls to guiding us through the countertop selection process, even suggesting that we visit the showroom in Queens. Additionally, another gentleman at the design center, whose name we unfortunately did not get, advised us on selecting the cabinet handles. He, too, contributed to a great experience. The cabinet installers, Ishmael and Tenton, were absolutely incredible. They worked in perfect unison -- almost as if they had ESP. Watching them install the cabinets was witnessing true craftsmanship. As a technologist, I was genuinely impressed by their accuracy, precision, and attention to detail. Their professionalism blew my mind. The countertop and backsplash installers, Jessie and Frederick, were equally impressive. They clearly know their craft, and the quality of their work reflects it. It must be an epidemic of excellence at this company. We were deeply impressed with the knowledgeable guidance provided at the design center and the skill displayed during installation. I will gladly be your advertising voice. Anyone seeking high‑quality work and reliable service should absolutely consider Kabinet King. We are very excited that we chose this company. After researching for more than two years and comparing other options, selecting Kabinet King was one of the best decisions we've ever made. Thank you so much for your hard work and dedication.
