Our search for tiles led us to The Tile Shop where Georgia helped us a ton. She was patient, never pushy, and genuinely wanted to find us something that worked. She was happy to pull out all the floor options we wanted to see, matched it with backsplash tile, and even did some extra design work for us to see how it would look. Through such a daunting (and expensive) process, Georgia really made it fun. She took the stress away, let us guide her with what we wanted, but also shared her thoughts as the design expert. So respectful, very personable, and just wanted to help us. In the end, we did not move forward with The Tile Shop but it had nothing to do with the service. The price points just didn't work for us but if I ever have a larger budget, she is the first person I'm coming to. read more

I loved this store until I was denied the right to return over $400 worth of fully boxed tiles because it was a few days past the 60-day return policy. They would rather lose a lifetime customer than be slightly flexible in their return policies. This is a poor business practice! The contractor took slightly longer to complete the project than expected. The former assistant manager, Sandy, would have helped me. Now I know why he left this company.I am done with them. Barry where have you been my whole life?! After a disappointing experience with the Tile Shop in Commack, but still needing to complete my bathroom renovation, I tried another tile shop. I called the Westbury location to ask them a question, Irene said that she would check and call me back. Well I've heard that line before so I hung up not expecting a phone call. Less than 10 minutes later, Barry called me back and said that he could order what I needed and it would be there by Thursday. I said yes of course! He quickly and very politely took my information over the phone and I received an email receipt! What is this newfangled system? I've only received one email receipt from the one in Commack. Thursday rolls around and I received the email that my tile is in and to come get it! Whaaaat?! Did he (or the system) just notify me that it was here?? So I didn't have to call and hound them every week asking for my tile?? Amazing. Pickup was fast and efficient even taking all COVID-19 precautions. Barry was also able to return all the extra supplies Commack had ordered for me that my tile guy didn't use. Barry was a dream!! Go see Barry!!!! read more

I'm very disappointed with my experience at this store. I ordered Ashford carrara a white dot tile for the floor with Ashford carrara tile for the walls. The Sample in the store with light and airy. The tile I recieved is dark and heavy looking. The quality was substandard too. It Took an expert marble layer 3 times as long to put the marble down because the inter locking sheets did not match up. The staff is confused and it took 40 minutes for my order to be located because they could not find it in the warehouse. In addition I ordered several additional pieces to complete the order when I got there they were attempting to sell me Hampton marble which totally did not match. My bathroom renno is disappointing because the sample i saw and the product in the shop is vastly different from what I received. Stay away if you have expectations. Me and my hubs came here one night to walk around for an hour checking out all the tiles. We were offered help but we didn't need it and we're left alone. Skip ahead few months when we're now about to redo kitchen we came back knowing exactly what we wanted. The second we walked in we were helped. Girl was friendly, awesome and a Harley Quinn fan, I don't even need to say more lol. Tiles came in like a week later? I see complaints on here I mean this isn't Home Depot you need to order your stuff in! I made sure to order in advance. Great quality and I can't wait until our kitchen is done to show off our backsplash :) we've even picked future tiles here (mentally lol) to use when we redo bathroom down the line... also they have random sales and 6 months to return. How awesome is that? I mean because when does anything ever go on time? Next sale I'm hoping will be around when we wanna do bathroom.... :) read more

I ordered my tiles from the Westbury, NY location. Lovely staffs, quick orders. Love them. But the trucking company outsourced to (Stone Express Trucking, I believe, from NJ) is unbelievably BAD. The delivery was late and the drivers are not nice. Hopefully this is not the only trucking company they hired. So, people who needs the delivery option. BEWARE. read more

I wish I could give this place a 0 for Customer service. First, had Items that were supposed to be delivered to my house but were missing from the order. Upon calling the store I was told that they had the supplies but they had switched to a new system, therefore no one called to say they were there, but should have been delivered to me. Second, I returned items that I was t going to use to the store total about $360. However, because they had a new system I was told they would not be able to issue the credit right away. One of the items I returned was a corner shelf which was cracked. I returned the next day as i forgot to reorder the shelf. The manager, Leroy asked one of the sales reps to get one off shelf. Upon inspection i realized it was the same item i returned the day before. I pointed it out to Him and his response "it probably is because i did put it back on the shelf." So had I not noticed he had no issue selling it back to me. Third, fast forward to a couple of weeks later, my credit had still not been issued, however, we needed additional supplies. I called Leroy to ask if the additional items could be charged against my $360 credit. He said no i would have to buy the new merchandise despite the fact that they owed me money. When my contractor went into the store Leroy told him that I was trying to get stuff for "free." Really why would I pay you more money when you owe me?!? Two days later -- after 3 weeks of waiting -- I called their corporate office and somehow they were suddenly able to figure out how to issue the credit. Will never shop there again! read more

The knowledge of the staff here is completely inconsistent. They tell you what you want to hear and when you come to pick it up/install it is does not fit the criteria. My story. I was replacing the floor of my shower and needed tiles to match the tiles I had existing. It took me a while to finally find something that I really liked. At this location they only had two sheets of what I had picked out. I had to drive all the way to the Commack location to pick up the rest of the tiles to finish my job at home. When arriving at home I noticed that the tiles that I purchased at the Merrick location we're a different size and pattern. Obviously this was a mistake on their behalf but I should have checked them when I picked them up. I called to let them know about the mistake and they located the correct tiles and I returned the wrong ones that I had gotten. I ended up needing a couple more sheets then anticipated and went to the Lynbrook location to purchase them. While I was there I was also looking at saddles/thresholds to place atop of the shower boarder when you step in. Since my shower is custom I asked the associate there what sizes they had. He went on how I can give them the measurements and they could have something made for me to fit the space I needed. Told him thank you very much because this is extremely helpful I was going to go home and measure it and come back to let them know what I needed. I returned with the measurements to the Merrick location to find out that they do not do any custom cuts on thresholds or saddles. There was nothing that fit what I needed, then another associate came over and said that there are new saddles that they just got in that fit the measurements exactly as I needed. I thought PERFECT! We ordered it and picked up two days later brought it back home to find out that it was too long and too wide to fit into the shower. Length was honestly not an issue at all because you could've had it cut down but the width is something that would've had to been taken to a granite or marble place to have custom cut. All the issues that I did have at the tile shop I went there in confidence thinking that they would have made the situation right. After speaking to the associate at the desk after I asked for a manager she said that she could help me. She was unable to help me in anyway to fix the situation other than just returning the merchandise. I did ask her if there is anything that you could do to make the situation right and she said absolutely not. Thank you the tile shop for all your "help" and now you have lost a customer. I hope this review helps you if you need something to be done in your house please do not come to this place. They are unhelpful and clearly not trained enough to be working in this business. read more

More kudos to Tile Shop's customer service. I had an order of tile delivered last week that was short a box but no big deal because my contractor wasn't ready to tile yet. It was supposed to be delivered today but did not. At 6pm, I got a call from the manager, who knew we were starting to tile today, to let me know it had just been received by the store, and he would drive it to my house after he got off of work. This might not seem like such a big deal, but I live in Brooklyn. That is just going above & beyond, and is one more reason why I will never shop anywhere else for tile. read more

I had a mixed experience at this store but overall I would give it 3 stars. I visited the store to pick out tile for my bathroom remodel. I already had a good idea of what I wanted so I didn't need the help of a designer. The salesman I worked with, Barry, was very patient, kind and helpful. Fortunately, I looked up the tile I wanted on their site, and noticed that the 1 inch hexagon matte black tile for the shower floor was $7.49 sq. ft. online but was marked $8.29 sq. ft. in the store. I showed him the item online and he did give me the online price, no issue at all. Make sure you check! He also told me I could get 15% off if I open a credit card, which I did. The tile arrived and when my husband brought it home, I noticed that the shower floor tile was in 2 really beat up and ripped boxes, and the boxes were different sizes. Upon further inspection, I noticed that the tiles in each box were different. So much for them being from the same dye lot, they weren't even the same size. I called Barry and he said he would order all new tiles to ensure they are from the same dye lot and we would get them in 3 days. Well, 3 days turned into 2 1/2 weeks, which really set our project back. I know with COVID some things are out of his control but he shouldn't have promised something he couldn't deliver. Also, he never followed up, we always had to call. My husband called (since I was so fed up) and spoke with the manager Lisa. She apologized for the delay and said when we came back she would give us a $100 gift card for our troubles. Frankly, what good is a gift card when we've already purchased the tiles but at least she was offering something, which was nice. However, when we brought the tiles back, there was no gift card and Barry didn't even know what we were talking about. He said he would talk to Lisa and he'd mail it to us. 2 weeks later, no gift card. I called and he said "Lisa is out so could I call back next week." I told him I should not have to chase her for something she promised. He called back the following week to say he reminded her 3 times about the card and still, nothing. I decided I had enough and I reached out to the corporate office. I spoke with Alan who was very apologetic and promised he would get to the bottom of it and that he would call me back. Well, he actually did call me back the next day to say they would send me a check instead, which they did. The good things: The shopping experience was very good, Barry was very nice and helpful to deal with in the store and the selection is vast. The tile prices are very competitive and what we bought is great quality. Corporate was very quick to resolve the issue we had. The bad things: lack of quality control in receiving as they should have inspected the tile and noticed that there were 2 different size tiles for the shower floor. We were promised new tiles in 3 days and it actually took 2 1/2 weeks. Manager promised a gift card that she never delivered and never followed up. read more

Finally when I was about to give up, I drove to this massive showroom and found it! The woman who helped me was very friendly, and she was able to order the tile with 3 day shipping for me and it arrived in great shape (mounted on cardboard). This was my third and last time going to this beautiful showroom. I work in a retail customer service based industry and we do our best to make the customer feel acknowledged and that we will do everything to help them find what they are looking for. I was in the showroom looking for tile to do a backsplash. I spent quite a bit of time looking. The two employees never said hello or offered any assistance. The place is gorgeous but you really need to work on customer service. I gave it two stars because of the beautiful displays and selection. You need better salespeople!!!! read more

The only reason why I took out one star is the fact that it can be a hit or miss depending on who is helping you, especially the weekend part-time staff. Some of them really have no idea what they are talking about. But all in all, I will definitely go back to this place on days Patrick is around. So I went in to pick up tiles that I had ordered and to see if they had any bullnose tile that I had forgotten to order. The delivery had just gotten in, but the truck had not yet been unloaded. Anthony went into the truck and found my order and brought it out to me shortly. As far as the bullnose, they had none listed in the system, but Cayla went into the warehouse and rounded up almost a full box of what I needed and saved me a weeks wait.
