You need your own GC and contractor which they cannot recommend, and if you're doing a kitchen, they say it's "up to the busy contractor to decide if he wants to help you or not." Came here with a cabinet in hand and the old handle that i was trying to find that would be a simple fit isnt... There was one sale associate assisting one customer at the desk and another on the phone. No one just on the floor Had to wait to ask and inquire about the handles.... the gentleman was not too familiar with the prices because there was no price on them and they would have to be ordered ontop of $20 shipping. Doing the right thing and putting customers first isn't always easy or convenient for a business. This company has the worst customer service in the world. I completely understand that we are in uncertain circumstances with COVID-19 but the level of non service that I have received from this company is next level. My designer is Joseph Thompson from the Franklin Square store and we decided to purchase stock cabinets due to the lead time of 2-4 weeks. That was in April. As of today July 10, 2021 this order has been delayed SIX times. The due dates for this order was 5/21, 5/28, 6/1, 6/25, 7/16, and now 7/30. I have emailed and not gotten any response. So now I'm sitting in a gutted kitchen with no response. I will NEVER recommend this place to another person. read more

I recently just finished a renovation to our kitchen. The gentleman that helped me was Anthony DeBonis. He was so helpful in this process from beginning to end. He was available any time we had questions (and there was a lot), sat with us for as long as we needed, went through all of our selections, and explained the entire kitchen layout thoroughly. He let us know the duration of time needed to order the cabinets and kept us up to date with delivery information. We were MORE than pleased that we selected Consumers for our kitchen needs. We handpicked our optional drawers and cabinets for the right fit, Anthony was instrumental in this! Anthony laid the entire kitchen out so that we could see with ease what the layout was. He suggested certain colors, cabinet style, etc that would suit our taste based on what we had explained. I would definitely recommend Consumers for anyone who is thinking of renovating their kitchen!!!! If I could I would give them a perfect 10, I would. Buyer beware. This was a disaster from the moment we paid to the end. They have lawyers who write up contracts representing their interests with no regard to ours. Everytime there was a problem - and there were many, the attitude was - we have your money, we have a contract - shut up! The cabinets were damaged on delivery. The replacements they sent were worse. I think the part that sticks in my craw the most was that we didn't receive all the elements on delivery day. Our construction crew had to work around the parts we hadn't received. When I asked for a refund, Consumers mailed us the parts. They arrived days after the installation was complete. I'm still pissed about that. Their customer service NEVER returned phone calls so we never had an idea of what was happening. We are just living with the damaged cabinets now because I don't want to have anything to do with these people ever again! If you do use them, be sure to have your own lawyer check out the contract they have you sign. read more

Be aware that all items purchased will be marked "special order" (even standard colors and sizes of ready-made items) and are, therefore, "non-refundable" and also not able to be exchanged! Be aware that if they do not deliver items on time for construction to begin, you still have to pay for the items which have not arrived--unless they complete "a report" and decide in your favor that you do not have to wait indefinitely for the missing item. Be aware that you must pay in full up front for items which have not yet been delivered and/or inspected for damage yet. There is a reason for this. You are stuck with whatever has been delivered unless they "approve" that damage has occurred or that an item is incorrect or not as promised. The color I chose for a sink arrived looking completely different than it did alongside my tile samples in the store. I was supposed to be consoled by the fact that the colors can look completely different in different lighting. There is no exchange policy under these circumstances (can't just swap it out for white). I need to go out and buy another sink and possibly another vanity if the vanity is built in such a way that only the same company's sinks fit it. This experience was a tremendous waste of time and money. read more

I worked with Andrew, who is polite, sincere and informative and together we created a kitchen that maximized function for the space and came out beautifully. I was able to order sample doors in a few colors to confirm my choice. Andrew kept us apprised at every step of the way until the cabinets were delivered. One door came in slightly off and it was immediately replaced without question and resent packaged in hard wood to avoid exposure to the elements. I could never have gotten this job done alone. Kevin, the manager, is very understanding and experienced and its just like working along side family. Highly satisfied months later with our beautiful kitchen! read more

It took me a while to write the review but overall I've been very happy with the products & service I received at the Franklin Square showroom. About 8 years ago I purchased a bathroom vanity, sinktop & a lovely medicine cabinet from them and was very happy then. The medicine cabinet is very unusual & I'm still thrilled to have it & getting compliments. In fact, the vanity I bought was priced 4 times higher at a local Brooklyn kitchen (Pedulla tiles) & bath center. About 8 months ago, I bought and received a new granite sinktop and undermount sink. Love the products even if the sales guy wasn't the greatest, he was very patient and made appropriate sugestions. I bought 2 bathroom vanities with granite tops and sinks. They are really beautiful, except that after a little while I noticed a chip in the smaller vanity top. We already drove these vanities upstate to another house and paid to have them installed. We did inspect them ourselves and didn't notice at first. It is small, but it is definitely a chip. I do realize it is past the date of return, and I also understand these items were inspected and the chip was not noticed at the time. I sent a message to Consumers and I spoke to Jim,one of the managers. Immediate Jim did everything he could to rectify this situation and keep me a happy consumer. After 9 months, I never received my cabinets. I created the order at the store after several visits. The salesman knows who ordered the cabinets. The order was placed under the contractor's company; BIG MISTAKE! I paid the contractor the full price of the cabinets in July , and Consumers never confirmed nor denied the payments siting privacy. After 9 months, I had to terminate the contractor. He withheld his release of order for delivery....now I lost $21k worth of cabinets and have to shop for new cabinets. The store did not assists with acknowledging my claims but supported the contractor instead. As a common homeowner, this is practice is VERY WRONG! There should be a warning or some payment acknowledgement from the store to me personally. The store has a responsibility to protect to buyer! read more

If I could give zero stars I would. Called them and asked them if they could come To Our house to measure for a pullout pantry and kitchen island. They told me they won't send anyone to the house to measure, nor do they send people to install. So the manager wanted me to figure out my own dimensions (I am NOT a contractor) and then order custom cabinets which cost WAY more than normal cabinets, which probably wouldn't work because they refused to send someone to do the proper measurements. I spent 10 minutes on the phone with the manager repeatedly telling me everything I wanted they couldn't and wouldn't do. This company had the worst customer service and only seeks to rip People off by forcing them to measure, order expensive custom items for them to not at all fit and have to spend more money. He also said it would take 3 months to get one cabinet. Total joke and waste of time. I believed their great marketing on their website but now I see why everyone has given them 1 star. read more

Customer service here is non-existent. Before giving them my credit card, they will bend over backward for their customer, but once they charge your card they will stop picking up your phone call. In general, almost all the sales teams including the manager has a very arrogant attitude. We order a custom kitchen cabinet through them and it takes them approximately 2 wks to get a purchase order from them. Every time I call my sales man with questions and order status concerning my kitchen cabinets, he was NEVER available. Whenever I leave a message in his voicemail he never calls me back. The store is always empty even on the weekend, but the manager is always with a customer whenever we call. I wonder why? It took us 1 month to get our cabinet and also they screwed up the sizing on one of our cabinet. They also tried to push blame on their customer. When we tried to ask them to see if they can get us another cabinet expedited since they screwed up the cabinet. They said it will take another month to get one cabinet. On top of this, the kitchen cabinet handles takes another month to order and we were not inform about this in the beginning. The handles are readily available at home depot. Think twice before buying from them. Take your business elsewhere such as lowes and home depot. I was so happy with Steve that i went back and got custom sized built in cabinets in my dining room, 3 bathroom vanity's, and 2 sets of shower doors. I was very happy with everything. These guys really saved my home renovation project. I went in randomly on Labor Day and the sales guy, Andrew, walked my dad and I around the showroom. Andrew helped us find exactly the fixtures we needed for the very specific measurements I had (small bathroom). The next day, I reached out to him to buy the stuff immediately because the contractor needed it all at once. Andrew helped me for over an hour on his day off. He logged in remotely and helped me get everything I needed. His colleague, Harry, called to finalize my order, and Andrew checked in later that day and the next to ensure everything was right. All-in-all, a great customer service experience, especially for someone who had been traumatized by Home Depot. I can't say enough how much better this turned out with their help! Their prices are also very reasonable and the product is MUCH better than what you'll find at the big stores. read more

I just finished renovating my bedroom with, yup, you guessed it, kitchen cabinets. Thought it couldn't be done? Well, my salesman Andrew wouldn't quit until I had exactly what I wanted, at a price that kicked the poop out of Home Depot. I ordered 11 Starmark cabinets (base and wall mount) and accompanying hardware, finishing moldings and under cabinet laminate skins. HD doesn't even carry this brand, but they should since it's actually better than Kraftmade (which I have in my kitchen from a decade ago). The Starmark cabinets are every bit as high quality and they come with soft close mechanisms on all doors and drawers at no extra charge. It was fun creating the exact look I wanted. They have video monitors mounted over the salesman's desks, so I could sit with him and see every piece we planned to order, move it around, make it larger or smaller, in short - customize it so I could see what the finished product would look like. What a fine system! My bedroom looks amazing now. In fact, Andrew suggested they send a photographer to my home to shoot the room and post it on their website! His communication was excellent, he gave me several follow-up phone calls, and he even emailed me to keep me in the loop as to scheduling delivery of the units. I highly recommend going to Consumers Kitchen and Bath. Why pay for the big box store prices and service when this option is so much better!. read more

First of all our new kitchen is fabulous. The cabinets are exactly what we expected. The countertops perfect. Anthony was the main reason for this. Not only was his design work great but he literally walked us through the installation. He is, perhaps, the most patient person I have ever met. Consumer's 3D, large screen, images make it easy to see what you are getting and more importantly what you do not want. And, believe it or not we were able to work with the budget we had set. Nightmare. I never even had a yelp account but signed up just to write this review so other people wouldn't need to go through what we did. This place has the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Came here to get a cabinet addition for our kitchen. Ended up purchasing an expensive custom cabinet. We told the salesperson that we lived on the second floor of an apartment and he said that delivery would be fine HOWEVER we ended up having to hire a moving company (extra $250) on consumers SECOND attempt to deliver. On the first attempt the delivery men didn't even take the piece off the truck, just saw the staircase to our second floor apartment and wouldn't deliver. Then consumers wouldn't even refund the delivery charge which was only $40. If you are not getting your purchase delivered to a first floor DO NOT BUY FROM THEM. Cabinet is nice but we had to install it ourselves and cut the spacer and toe kick to fit on our own. The doors on the cabinet aren't spaced correctly but after the nightmare of delivery we were not about to send it back to be fixed. Wouldn't recommend to my worst enemy. Not surprised the majority of reviews are bad. read more

I paid good money for cabinets from KraftMaid. The first time consumers delivered 7 of the pieces were either cracked or the wrong color. I ordered my cabinets in a canvas color with is like an off white. I got some pieces with more of a gray color. When I called for replacements they told me 2-4 weeks for the new ones to be shipped. Of course it took 3 weeks and 2 of the 7 replacement pieces were the wrong color again! This time I complained to the store manager Keith Rudolph in franklin square and got no where, no reimbursement for having to pay my contractor for extra days, no rush order or anything. The manager even told me that the colors were close to finish and basically to deal with it. For what we paid I want perfect. Well guess what? I received a service report number and have yet to hear from them about the pieces. It's been 4 weeks and not a word from anyone. Very unprofessional and unorganized. I'm not sure if it's consumers or the brands they carry or both. No one is helpful, they just take your money. Avoid them at all cost. read more

Just purchased cabinets for a total kitchen redo. First, the young man sent to measure the kitchen did it incorrectly even though told that the kitchen was going to be completely gutted. He measured as if everything was remaining including measuring a 30"doorway as 39 1/2". When the sales person showed me the kitchen layout that the "designers" approved, there was no allowance made for a wastebasket. What kitchen doesn't produce waste? When the design was modified at the salesman's desk, I was told that my 24" cabinets had to be reduced in size as I could only get a 18" wastebasket base cabinet. UNTRUE ! However, I did not know that as I was not informed about the other possibilities - basecabinets for waste come in 15", 18", 21" 24", 27", 30" etc. So, since I was misinformed I went with the 18" wastebasket cabinet.My sales man was annoyed with having to make changes. Isn't that his job? In order to make the cabinets symetrical around the refridgerator, all of the surrounding cabinets had to shrink to 18". I complained about these errors to the manager when I found out about them and was told that the company could do nothing about it. I could just buy new cabinets in the right size at my expense. Since I already paid over $10,000 I will just cut my losses and will never deal with them again and recommend that others go to more customer oriented companies. read more
