Oz just finished our kitchen, and I can only say that they were totally amazing, from start to finish! I had always heard horror stories of bad contractors, and was worried that this would be an anxiety-producing experience. However, the exact opposite happened. They made what could have been a difficult and stressful time (being with no kitchen for a number of weeks) into one of the most positive and exciting experiences, seeing our new kitchen come to life! It started with Uzi, the highly knowledgeable, warm, and personable owner, who initially came to our home and gave us a number of different design ideas and estimates, and patiently answered all of our questions. Then, there was Mike, who was our most wonderful Project Manager, who reassured us every step of the way, was extremely skilled in all aspects of construction, and ensured that all work was done to a very high standard of quality. Then, of course, there was the crew who did the actual work - these people were all very professional, extremely neat and clean, prompt, reliable, and demonstrated a high level of skilled workmanship. They worked hard to solve any issue that came up, and wouldn't leave the house until things were actually perfect! (and in Life, almost nothing is ever perfect - but these people are!!) Our kitchen looks absolutely stunning - we feel like we're living in a new home (after 30 years!) Everyone who comes to the house cannot believe how amazing it looks. Uzi had recommended that we remove the wall between our kitchen and dining room, and we are so glad we did. It has opened up the whole area in such a dramatic way and we now understand that it was the best thing we could have done. Thank you Uzi! While the outcome was so positive, I think the best thing (in addition to the high level of workmanship) was the feeling of comfort and security we had throughout the entire process. We felt like we were in very good, safe hands, and that they would do anything and everything to help make this project the best that it could be. Mike was an excellent communicator, and spent a lot of time explaining things to us, giving us different options, and offering superb guidance in all aspects of the kitchen. His support throughout the process was invaluable, and we can never thank him enough for all of his help and advice! We love you Mike! I interviewed many different contractors before choosing Oz, and it took me more than a year to make my decision. However, I can honestly say that this was one of the best decisions of our lives! We recently had Oz install a new kitchen for our house. The words used most often by visitors to describe their initial reactions are "Stunning", "Wow" and "Looks like it's out of a home design magazine" From beginning to end, dealing with Oz was a pleasure due to their high level of professionalism, advice and expertise regarding all phases of the construction project. Before we contracted with Oz, we read many positive reviews on Yelp and Angie's List. Our initial impression was that this company couldn't possibly match up to the great reviews they were receiving online, but after they completed the job we can honestly say they are that good. Initially Uzi came out to our house to view the existing kitchen and get some ideas of what we wanted to do. We then met a week later in the office where he provided us with two options he developed; one was a traditional redo of our kitchen, while the second was a truly inspired open concept transformation of our kitchen and house. Initially thinking we wanted the less costly redo, we were so drawn to the option 2 that we decided to go that route and are absolutely thrilled with our choice. Our house has been transformed in a way that we never imagined! The designer Lori met with us on four occasions for two hours at a time to review the various aspects of the project design. She provided us with excellent direction and numerous options. The demolition began as scheduled and the complete construction process went smoothly and seamlessly. The Project Manager Dominick was very accessible and assured that the project moved on schedule. Carlos, the leader of the construction crew, is a soft spoken young man who was polite, a gentleman, an expert craftsman, and helped guide us with excellent choices regarding decisions that had to be made along the way. Carlos and the crew went out of their way each and every day to complete tasks in a timely, efficient and professional manner. To top it off they cleaned up every day so you couldn't tell that a construction crew had been in your house. I would speak to Carlos briefly before leaving for work every morning to discuss any questions and what they would be working on for the day. In summary, we are very pleased with our choice to use Oz Contracting for our kitchen remodel. Not only were they friendly, professional, extremely reliable and expert craftsmen, no detail was left unattended. While the cost of the major renovation we contracted for was not inexpensive, we feel it was a fair price and we got an extremely good value for the money spent. We performed an exhaustive search for an all-in-one general contractor to execute the complete renovation of our hall (main) bathroom and powder room. With short list in hand, we began checking on-line reviews. OZ General Contractors was an easy decision for us. At our first visit to the OZ showroom, we scheduled an onsite visit for necessary measurements. Uzi came to our home as scheduled, listened to our interest and concerns. We explained we were about to embark on a home makeover, that the first two bathrooms were Phase 1 of our plan. We were very comfortable with him - I'm sure you will be too! He had us visit the showroom shortly thereafter to discuss plans/options, pricing and next steps. We were happy to see 3-D renderings he had prepared for his recommendations and available alternatives... I immediately grew confident that he understood our goals. Before we left, we gladly signed the agreement to engage their service. First, we scheduled a meeting Lori, a staff designer the following week. When we arrived, she had suggested combinations of flooring, wall tile, counter tops and cabinets prepared for us to consider... this made refinement and selection a snap. Before long, our scheduled start date arrived. We were told they'd be at our home by 9:00 am on the scheduled Monday - two crews, one for each bathroom. The goal was to complete both bathrooms by the weekend. I was happy to look out the front window of our home shortly after 8:00 am on the scheduled start date and see a parked OZ truck along with a an unmarked pickup truck in front of my home. At 8:45 am, the doorbell rang and work commenced. First thing the did was lay protective floor covering from the front door to the target work spaces. 5-days later, on schedule, they cleaned up, packed up and were done. There was a short punch list of items that needed to be tended to thereafter. Our project manager Nicholas was attentive to these items, all were completed in short order. The administrative staff and personal involvement of Uzi and Mike were stellar throughout. The onsite staff are courteous to my wife - she's completely comfortable with them in our home... and our dog loves them too! We subsequently hired OZ for phase 2, kitchen renovation and are in the midst of it right now. Long and short, they showed up on the scheduled Monday morning like clockwork and have continued to execute service as I've come to expect from them. Because of this experience, I'm elated to recommend OZ General Contracting - they have earned this reference and continue to earn my business. Oz Construction completed a kitchen renovation for us back in February of 2017. We did our homework and we were genuinely impressed with the reviews and workmanship completed for other clients. Prior to the start, a complete computerized rendition of our "kitchen to be" was provided by Oz. It was nice to imagine what our kitchen would look like upon completion. We met with their in house designer who literally sat with us and helped us pick out everything from the floors, tiles and cabinetry- a daunting task made a lot easier. We made a lot of changes to the space including removing walls, and locations of appliances. Despite the amount of work, they put us down on their schedule for 4 weeks. Four weeks later to the day we were done. From day 1, their workers were friendly, hard working, and respectful. Never did they leave a mess. They cleaned up each day before leaving. The kitchen came out looking like a magazine cover. I was and still am tremendously impressed with how well our kitchen came out. All of our friends and family have always been amazed at the quality of work they did. Fast forward to today, and our home is in contract. I never thought we'd sell our home, but we did. Every perspective buyer who came into our home was instantly wowed by our kitchen. There's no doubt whatsoever that our kitchen sold our home in just a couple of weeks. A gigantic thank you to both Uzi, Mike and their workers for a magnificent job. I'm planning on doing some work on my new house and there is no other company that I can imagine asking to do the job. Here I am , once again writing a stellar review for Oz Contracting. I would like to say that the most recent project was THE BEST but truthfully , all of our projects were THE BEST! It is impossible to out do perfection. After doing our entire house in Merrick (we did it in 4 stages) we asked Uzi if he would consider refinishing our basement in Montauk. To our delight, he actually sent a crew out (led by David with Junior and another young man)to do the job. Once again the job was started on the target date and finished exactly when they told us it would be. Everything was done to perfection (David is a perfectionist ) including 2 bedrooms with built in bunk beds and queen beds, a gorgeous bathroom (with the help of Lori's expertise) and a playroom/den for our 10 grandkids! Just like the projects in Merrick, everyday the house and work area were left as clean as it was before they even started for the day. Unlike the horror stories I have heard about other people's contractors, Oz never leaves you in the middle of a project to work on another . Oz has several teams that stay on the job until it is completed. When I say completed, I mean completed to the last item. David even drove out to montauk one day after they were finished to change the guard rail on the bunkbeds because I changed my mind about the rails! My wife and I can't stop singing the praises of OZ - Uzi, Mike, Lori, Chico, Junior, and all the others! The kitchen they have created for us has made us fall in love all over again with our home of 43 years. We look forward each day to using it and enjoying it and marveling at its beauty. Over the years we had made several modest improvements in our small kitchen. For decades we have seen OZ trucks and work crews around the area, so we felt safe to see what they could do for us. Uzi had a vision that we had never considered and it interested us. He presented detailed visual renditions for us and we agreed. They were talented, hardworking, thoroughly professional, clean and respectful of us and our home. Oz General Contracting was such a pleasure to work with! They came in to do our kitchen after a previous renovation we had went wrong. Everything about the process with them was easier and they are such experts at their craft! From the initial consultation to the design meeting to the daily work that was done in our kitchen---customer service was their priority and it's in their blood. They are very talented and offered recommendations, they quickly identified anything that they saw as a potential issue and had a recommendation as well as an associated updated cost if necessary so that we could make the decision with all of the information. Our Project Manager Mike was in contact with us each day to let us know how things were going and the crew was fantastic. Like I said experts at their craft but also so clean. At the end of the day there was never a speck of dust anywhere or signs that people had been working at our home for several hours that day. The end product turned out amazing. We had seen an open house years ago featuring an Oz kitchen and Oz bathrooms. As soon as I saw their work, I knew who I would use to remodel my kitchen and bathrooms. 18 months ago, they gutted and installed my new kitchen and a small bathroom on the main floor. All work was done neatly and on time with excellent craftsmanship. The whole process was great, including the helpful suggestions by the designers in the office. We were not pressured into anything we didn't want. After 18 months of enjoying my new kitchen, I have no complaints. Now I am ready to remodel the upstairs bathrooms, main and master. We just selected all materials and designs, including a major reconstruction of the master bathroom. The work will be done in the coming weeks and I will provide a review of the new work, which I anticipate to be of equally high quality. We first met Uzi about 6 years ago. He renovated our kitchen and bathroom. The quality of his work is incredible and of the highest quality. Oz remodeled our Kitchen, bathroom and stairs. There timelines were accurate and they actually completed their remodel a week early. The crew that we had were very courteous and did an amazing job of cleaning up every day. They helped me pick out all the little particulars in the kitchen and bathroom and pointed out the positives and negatives of each item. While working through the project I wanted to add in more lights and they were able to accommodate that request as well. The kitchen and bathroom came out amazing and now we are looking to redo other parts of our house. I know who I will be choosing.....I've already said when i redo the rest of my house i want the same crew that did the kitchen. The entire process went smoothly. Uzi and Mike came over to give us and estimate, which was the lowest of the three that we got. Next up was Lori, the design consultant. She spent three hours with us in the showroom helping us pick out tile and fixtures, and walk us thru the various decisions that needed to be made. Robby and his crew showed up bright and early on the scheduled start date and worked six long days in a row to get the job done on time. At the beginning of every day they put drop cloths on the floor and hung plastic sheets. At the end of every day they cleaned up. David the project manager came by every day to check on the progress. We had an annoying leak in our Kohler kitchen faucet which was put in by OZ well over 3 yrs ago when our kitchen was installed. I contacted Mike who came by to see what part was needed and when the part arrived, Mike stopped by again to take care of the issue. Unfortunately, this was one of those situations which was not an easy fix as part of the faucet was difficult to remove as sometimes happens when certain parts age. But, Mike was not flustered and was finally able to replace what was needed and the faucet is now leak free. Our kitchen is almost 4 yrs old and still looks like new. I have been using Oz general contracting since 2008, they are the most reliable,competent and professional people I have ever dealt with. They renovated my kitchen,also did a full upstairs dormer.
