Cody was on time.He came within the 2 hour window given.He was exceptionally polite ( he even asked if he might sit on the furniture before doing so to fill out paperwork). Our current Frig.is a special order size and over 25 years old.Cory made the case to try and save it because it is so much better built ( insulation + fewer bells and whistles to go bad ) than newer appliances.It took two trips to fix the problem .The necessary part did NOT come with instructions and was put in wrong initially.Cody gave us a number to call him if we had any problems and we did.That was the only hiccup and out frig is now working great. A replacement Frig.( bottom line variety) was going to be over a thousand dollars, counting a warranty.We learned that current appliances are made so poorly that in a 25 year period Lowes has gone from giving 90 days to return a Frig to TWO days ( Lowes will give you 30 days if you put it on their credit card). So we are happy we kept the older refrigerator despite the hiccup with the part.We lost some food but there is a good chance that would have happened anyway.Recently a relative lost a lot of food while waiting on the installation of a new frig.while in a similar situation. The people answering CAS's phones were nice.They got us on the schedule quickly when the first attempt did not work out .Bottom line:We would use again and we would ask for Cody. read more

Do not hire! I cannot recommend any outfit that handles the situation as they have... I called them to repair a refrigerator ice maker...On the very first visit I share with the technician that another local appliance repairman had tried serveral things and was unable to get things to work and recommended that I contact JennAir for certifiied JennAir Technicianl...this is how I ended up with this outfit. After 3 unsuccessful visits, they schedule a 4th visit just send the technician to tell me that they are "washing their hands of this one" because someone else had attempted the repair before them! They knew this on the first visit!!!! I placed a service request on whirlpool's website for a noise my washing machine was making. On Thursday Shane Miller from Convienient Repair came out, ran some diagnostics, and told me what was wrong. Well now since he left the machine won't work at all. I texted him at the number he had texted me from earlier in the day and he said he just forgot to turn off the diagnostic mode and told me how to reset it. I did everything he told me to do to and it still isn't working. And then he stopped responding to my texts and won't answer my calls or call me back. I am absolutely livid. Convenient Appliance was used as a contractor by KitchenAid to repair my refrigerator. The company had to order a door so that the rubber seal could be replaced. The part was shipped to my home and the company had no recollection of this being done. Once they were contacted an appointment to install the part was completed rather quickly. I informed the service contractor that the doors were not properly leveled. He stated at first that there wasn't anything that could be done to rectify the problem not even attempting to explore any options. In addition, the technician would not dispose of the old part because the new part wasn't shipped directly to their facility. The main office was notified and I was informed that a manager would contact me by the close of business. Needless to say, I did not receive that phone call and followed up the next business day in which I received the same guidance. The concern was never resolved with this company. I have a warranty on my Speed Queen Washer and Convenient Appliance has been out a couple of times to service the unit. The washer would stop mid cycle and the unit would squeak like the belt was loose. They replace the entire panel and told me the squeaking was something I would have to live with. I was furious. I paid good money for this washer and I do not believe this is something you have to live with. After, another few months of listening to it squeak and the washer yet again stopping mid cycle I called the warranty company and refused to let them send Convenient Appliance out. They sent another company and they fixed my washer. They opened the front casing, which Convenient did not do once. They actually got on their knees and looked inside the unit. The entire unit was off balance and the tub was hitting up against the wall of the washer. This was the entire problem the whole time. The panel did not need to be replaced. I will not be using Convenient again. They do not want to really diagnose the real problem. And for the record they have still not figured out what is wrong with my refrigerator that freezes everything. They continue to tell me it is because I put things in front of the vent. I do not. I wouldn't have written this if they haven't been to my house multiple times, to repair the same Maytag washer and made it literally worse each time. They have left my machine in a state of total non-function this last time. We have a new HE Maytag with agitator. It was making a mysterious clicking noise, and while mostly it would wash clothing every once in a while it would simply do nothing. In come CAS. The tech never ran a full cycle when they were finished with the initial repair, which had to due with gear stripping. I know this because the tech admitted it to me. I was dubious, and it turns out I had good reason to be because when they left the machine was now squeaking, clicking, and shaking violently. I called Lowes on my warranty again, requested CAS. This time they said it was the central shaft. Ok, no problem. Things happen, lets get it taken care of. So CAS came again just today. Without ever having run the machine to test, they replace the central shaft. Without testing a cycle they leave. My wife immediately sends me video on facebook of the machine still making a racket, still shaking like all get out. Now the machine suddenly doesn't work at all. It just makes a pathetic rhythmic noise associated with the motor *trying* to run. If you open the lid you'll notice the agitator isn't doing anything. The machine is a total wreck. I've called Lowes again, this time I'm requesting someone else. My wife and I can't do this. We have four kids. We're out a machine till the 24th to finally get this thing fixed. We are so out of luck on this and hurts so bad. --- UPDATE --- We had a new service tech come. They said this time it was a broken clutch and they had no idea why the clutch would be broken with such a new machine. read more

This is apparently the only company in the Triangle that does warranty work for Whirlpool and all of it's affiliated brands (e.g. Kitchen Aid). Due to this fact, I will probably avoid purchasing another Whirlpool brand appliance. Seriously. It astounds me that in such a big city, that we do not have more than one choice for warranty repair. This is by far the worst company I have ever worked with. They give you a 4 hour arrival window and then still show up 1.5 hours late (multiple times). I even tried to schedule an appointment for the "first appointment of the morning" from 8-9 am and they arrived 35 min late. They have now come out 5 times for a problem with my washing machine, and I'm not even sure it is fixed correctly this time. This is the company that Lowe's outsourced for my warranty repair, otherwise I would have never used them again. My messages asking to speak with management were never returned. Terrible Management at this company. Repair man came to look at my washer and dryer. He spent about 5 minutes in total at my house. The repair man was very nice, but unless he took apart the entire dryer he couldn't tell me what was wrong. He looked at the washer no more than 60 seconds because we couldn't get it to make the sound again. They charged me a trip charge for EACH appliance. They told me it was for a diagnostic assessment and that Whirlpool charges them when you call the manufacturer directly to make your appointment. I called Whirlpool and they said they do not charge. Each repair shop is independently owned and they set their own pricing. They fixed NOTHING. COMPLETE rip-off. Their diagnostic check is their eyes and ears. read more

Convenient Appliance sent Peter Haire to fix a clothes dryer. He looked at it and charged $68 and said he'd be back with parts to fix it. Then 14 days after, when we called to find out what happened, Peter showed up unannounced and spent 1.5 hours fixing it. Peter said he could not print me an invoice because his tablet wasn't working, and to call the front office for the invoice. I called the front office and was assured she'd email the invoice. The next day an additional charge of $431.58 was on my credit card and still no invoice. I called back and left messages. No response. I put a dispute on the charge with my bank. After a month, Convenient sent an invoice to my bank, but not to me. In it, they charged $250 in labor without documenting how many hours Peter spent to fix the dryer. I'm still disputing the charge. This is fraud and the company should go out of business trying to steal from customers like this. read more

The technician, Cody, was amazing and easy to deal with. The management there is less than desirable. Completely unwilling to work with the customer. The technician saw I had an issue with my microwave while he was here working on my dishwasher and stove. He told me to open a ticket so he could get the part for my microwave ordered. When I called to get that done, she told me there weren't notes. I asked her to call Cody and she told me that if he had really said that there would have been notes. She was unwilling to call him and get it cleared up for me and in a round about way, told me I was a liar. I had to have him come out again to verify it, and as expected, he didn't need to come back out for it when he already knew what was going on. Then, today, I needed to get some assistance with the ongoing issues on my Stove (multiple trips have been made to deal with it) and I was told they will not come service it because the office manager put a stop on service for anything on my account, noting I was rude. This seems petty and very unprofessional, especially since she was the one rude from the start and attacking me. I really thought Cody was great and it's unfortunate that a manager in that office is unable to operate in a professional manner. read more

Jeremy their tech is friendly, smart, and efficient. I've also consulted with the manager Ryan several times and he's gone above and beyond (way beyond even) to make things right for us and save us money. This is a service provider for Lowes and others. They came out to repair an ice maker on new fridge. The tech who is apparently new had no answers. He accidently spilled water all over hard wood floors which I cleaned up. Had no idea when a new part might arrive. Then our fridge completely stopped working so I place another service call. Again, the techs arrived with no idea what was wrong. They ordered yet another part and still no operating fridge. Part arrives, but they don't bother to call like they said would to schedule a repair. I schedule a repair and they fail to show up. DO NOT USE EVEN IF YOUR WARRANTY COMPANY SELECTS THEM!!! This company was selected by my warranty company (they selected Whirlpool who uses Convenient as a contractor) as we had an URGENT repair need. My fridge was not cooling and I have an infant at home whose meds required refrigeration. Our unit is 18yrs old and from the very moment that Peter came out, I said to him, "If you can't fix it, or if its not worth it, or if you're going to junk it, please tell me sooner than later." His response was that he was going to keep fixing it until they tell him not to. Problem is he never fixed anything, only made it worse. He came out several times and just kept ordering more parts. He even talked about ordering replacement doors (thankfully, he didn't). Each time required another week at minimum for parts and scheduling. The last time he came and "fixed" it, smoke came out of the front of the freezer door, the freezer then started leaking, fridge still not cooling and he ordered YET AGAIN more parts. By this time, it would be the 4th visit to my home. The office staff became less helpful over time as well. I spoke with Courtney about how this had become a nightmare and now the freezer is leaking along with the fridge not cooling, she said she needed to talk to Peter and she would call me back. Never did. I called back again and asked if I had to wait until they come back out to address the leak. She said no and that she would take care of it today and call me back. Never happened. NOTE: The warranty company will stop the runaround if the contractor STOPS ordering parts (which gives the impression that they know what they are doing and will fix the problem) and if the contractor states that they the unit is beyond repair. Peter wouldn't do it. My guess is this company gets service call payments each time they come out. BUT HE NEVER FIXED ANYTHING. HE MADE IT WORSE! AND THE OFFICE STAFF WAS NO HELP!!! Finally, I called Whirlpool directly who told me that this company should have stopped a long time ago and that they would be advising to cease repairs and will also advise my warranty company that the unit was not repairable. FINALLY something that made sense. By this time, it has been a month with no fridge and now no freezer which Convenient did not care about. We have now lost all of our food. To add insult to injury, Whirlpool tells me that they spoke with Tanya at Convenient to advise her to close out the case...but Tanya calls me three days later asking me to set up an appointment for my next repair date! They came to fix my oven without the part that the system said it needed and said that it was on back order. I had arranged to work from home for no reason. When I called and spoke with Ryan he was very condescending and rude. The issue here is really lack and communication or courtesy. After the repair person left I had no time frame for when or even if they would be able to get the part and then to have to call the office twice only to met with an attitude is unacceptable. Can't say enough great things about this company! Ryan and Mark were without a doubt the nicest, most accommodating people I've ever dealt with. After dealing with 3 other national appliance repair companies, I know I will NEVER use anyone else. My microwave was fixed in less than 15 minutes. The serviceman wore booties into my home; placed a blanket on the floor for his tools and even wiped down the unit to remove any fingerprints or dirt. Outstanding service! Bravo CAS!!! read more
