I'm just going to be honest here. I actually work for this company. I know we are told "employees" are not suppose to post reviews, but I can't help it. I have been in the repair business for close to 30-years. I previously worked at Mr Appliance of Durham/Chapel Hill. For close to 4-years. I left that job because of the price hikes and overall customer satisfaction. Corporate America can really take you to the "ringer" when it comes to repair folks. I think everyone knows this. Enter in Pro Appliance. I have been working for this company just shy of two months. In the almost 30-years I have worked, I have worked for numerous companies that just didn't care about anything but "$". Facts! I have never worked for a company with as much integrity as the people that work here. That's just being honest. I will tell you this, stay away from Mr Appliance of Durham/Chapel Hill. You WILL be over charged for your repair. That's not to say "every" Mr Appliance is the same way. Just know, when you're dealing with "corporate" America? They care about "$". Today we had a Warranty Service on our ZLIne Built in Refrigerator, the problem being replacement of the main circuit board. We have always requested Pro Appliance for any of our warranty or service work on our appliances. Reed Howell has done our work for the past three years and I cannot recommend him more highly. He is prompt, courteous, transparent, and explains what he found and what the repair will entail. He is a dedicated professional who cares about his customers and their satisfaction with his work. I will recommend Pro Appliance in general and Reed Howell in particuler for anyone needing honest, fair, and proper appliance service. This company deserves the highest praise for their repair and service of our refrigerator. Every person we talked to was respectful and listened to our problem and situation. They worked with us to service this refrigerator as soon as possible. We had to have this same refrigerator repaired two months prior by a different company and it was a nightmare. Our experience here was the total opposite. Our technician was Cody and he was patient in answering all of our questions. He provided us with options and the knowledge to make an educated choice! I was referred to Pro Appliance from a Fisher & Paykel Range dealer in Durham. I had three appliances needing repair. It took three visits to fix my range (2 would be expected); three visits to fix my refrigerator (two would be expected), and two visits to fix my dishwasher. In the end, all are now working. The aggravating issue is Pro Appliance (PA) uses subcontractors to conduct their service business. It took me three weeks to get a breakdown from PA of what the total labor cost and parts cost were. The subcontractor only provided me with a grand total. After three attempts I have yet to get an itemized detail of what parts were replaced other than pump or tube or ignitor as a descriptor. No part numbers. The whole experience was a bit shady. Sub contractor says one thing, PA says another and I am left with confusion. This saga started on 12/27/22 and as of today all is done except one question I have re total bill I paid and a confusing invoice I received today. My recommendation, get your service elsewhere. read more

This place has great techs who know how to work on your machine and fix it. However the communication with this company is the worst I've ever encountered. They do not call back, text or email back re: updates/techs running late to your appointment, or requests for copies of an invoice. All you get is a confirmation of service and a constant answering machine. That's it. Clearly no one is manning the front desk or calls. read more

This company was contracted by Distinctive Kitchens in Raleigh. We were told they would install our microwave/convection oven for $350. We weren't home so we made arrangements to let them come in and install the new double oven. They came and removed the original double oven and threw it away. I had it sold for $475. I never received a call from the owner or any apologies from management for the miscommunication. The crews had left a large hole at the top of the ovens. We knew that the new ovens were a bit smaller than the original ones they threw away or sold. They left the large gap at the top and when I called to ask them to raise the oven so the gap was on the bottom, they wanted another $350 to raise it. They never pulled any permit to have their electrical work inspected by a licensed electrician. I cannot seem to find where they are licensed to install electrical appliances. I filed a complaint with the NC electrical contractors board to inquire about their practices. If you use them, make sure you ask about getting all wiring permitted and inspected. This company left our newly renovated kitchen in shambles and refused to communicate with us. Look elsewhere. Poor management Tim in Hillsborough read more

So this is one of my favorite companies!! To the point, I will be personally recommending them to my friends and family. The customer service was flawless, prompt and proficient. We thought our motor was blown and the technician, Rod Fleming, explained two different reasons that might not be the case. The first guy who attempted to fix it, told us not to worry about repairs, to go ahead and replace. We decided to get a second opinion, without much hope. After looking at our machine and diagnosing the correct problem, Rod performed the repair, and we haven't had a problem since. We were shocked and thrilled. The price was worth the quality of work, and saved us money overall. It was money well spent, and a great value. Rod was courteous and patient explaining to us how the problem could be mistaken and what he could do about it. He took the time and attention you would expect from family. I suppose that there are many appliance repair businesses that can repair stoves. We have a samsung range that the control panel started flashing "SE". Called Garner Appliance and they don't work on Samsung but gave me the number for pro appliance. Called their office, gave address, mentioned the "SE" and made appointment. The top burners are separate from the control panel so we had them but no oven. Appointment had a two hour window so on the day of the appointment we waited....and waited and final tech showed up, about 2 1/2 hours past the end of the appointment window...had gone to chapel hill when our address was in N Raleigh. Even though the range needed a control panel, tech wanted to fiddle with it.... actually got it to work. At this point had been here less than an hour. Charged me $180.00, no parts just fiddled with it. Said it was service call and labor but didn't bother to e-mail invoice as I as told. Range went out in less than a week. I called and assumed the appointment (over a week out from my calling) would involve a new control panel. Tech showed up without panel and said one would have to be ordered....why hadn't it already been done? When he showed up again for our next appointment he had the panel and was here less than an hour and started all this round and round BS about how the $180 was going against the invoice and charged me $420 for the repair less the $180. From reliable sources the entire invoice from a reputable co should have been total around $220-$240 total for the entire thing.. I was overcharged twice. So if you want to get ripped off, use pro appliance for your repair... good luck read more

Rod and Felix worked long and hard to determine the reason my dryer wasn't heating for only a $75 diagnostic call. Turns out the issue was a breaker issue which Rod found on a return call - on a Saturday! He would not accept payment since they did not discover the electrical issue which he ended up fixing. Our refrigerator/freezer stopped working one morning and I noticed breastmilk was soon to thaw. Not cool! We reached out to Appliance Dean and that same day the refrigerator was working again. Instead of buying a brand new refrigerator (not in the budget) we were able to have a part fixed which was far less expensive. Quality people! Quality work! read more

Woke up Friday morning, got ready for work and then discovered everything in my refrigerator was at room temperature. I really wanted to get this taken care of before the weekend but had a hard time finding anyone that could come out the same day. Our GE profile dual fuel oven started having problem with oven temperature. I called a different company and they came out, diagnosed computer failure and ordered a new computer part. When they returned, they could not install it. I think he even broke a few knobs trying to get the whole top part of my oven with the computer back together. He gave up and told me to call someone else. I asked on the NEXTDOOR neighborhood site for a recommendation. I was told ROD at PRO APPLIANCE was awesome. We called, he came right out. He was SO PROFESSIONAL. It was night and day. He went right to work and put my oven back together again in about 15 minutes. He didn't charge much because he couldn't understand why the other guy just left it. He explained what we should look for in case the computer wasn't the original problem and went on his way.
