Chicken Kabob and Beef Kabob
Joe L.

DELICIOUS! Is all I can say about this plate of food I got. I was working outside of the restaurant and had a little time to grub so I decided to come here instead of a fast food place and I wasn't disappointed at all. The customer service was great and made you feel very welcomed! The whole layout of the place had a nice ambiance to it I was bummed I couldn't stay long enough to eat inside but I'll definitely be back! Definitely recommend the chicken kabob with a side of beef!

Lovely people, I believe they are the owners. Had a yummy fresh squeezed orange juice and my friend had the apple, orange carrot juice. Ordered a Turkey Burger, veggies on the burger were nice and fresh and fries were also good. For dessert we tried their Cheesecake and mini chocolate croissant, very good. And to go I ordered their chicken kabob plate for my bf. Smells good and looks very tasty. Will be back.

Asian Salad w/ Salmon

Found this gem on Yelp and so glad we did. Lots of parking, indoor and outdoor seating, casual environment. Great sized salads and protein portions, not one of those place you leave still hungry. Prices are UNBELIEVABLY good for LA, or anywhere for that matter. Food was tasty and fresh! We got the Asian Salad and Caesar Salad each with Salmon. Dressing wasn't over done and everything was awesome! The owner is extremely nice and welcoming! Check this place out!

Popped in for a quick bite and was pleasantly impressed. The tofu bowl is absolutely delicious. I also really enjoyed the green tea. The stuff is friendly and gracious. If your in the area it definitely worth checking out!

We were walking to the Beverly Center from our hotel and decided to give this place a try. You place your order at the counter and it's brought out to you. I ordered a latte and a chicken Ceasar wrap. My hubby got the Eye Opener wth 3 eggs, bacon potatoes, toast, and fruit. They cooked his eggs perfectly. As he likes his eggs well done most places do not get it right but here was just right! My wrap was full of chicken and a nice side of salad. They have a bakery case full of all kinds of goodies. Service was expedient and friendly. They serve breakfast all day and the place is super clean. This was a great find!!

Loved their key lime fruit tart. The custard didn't taste that limey, but overall it was really good. Would order again!

Ok I love all the Hillstone Group restaurants!! This was my first time eating at The Honor Bar and…read moreit was 5/5!! I ordered the crispy chicken sandwich without the bread, devil eggs, and kale salad!! And OMG it was very good!! Even without the bread it was still on point!! The slaw was very tasty and yummy!! Kale salad with the peanuts was perfect! For my drink it ordered the Turnball Cabernet red wine that was suggested by Dylan and it was very good for my palette. The service was great! Dylan was our sever and he was very nice! And personable and easy going. Our order was not incorrect and it came out fresh and hot. But of course that's nothing new with Hillstone restaurants, they are all phenomenal!!! It's also located next to their sister restaurant South of Beverly. The Honor Wine is right next to it as well. It's dark and gives semi-upscale vibes! It's not that spacious since it's a bar so it's usually a long wait. I recommend coming early or trying to do reservations. This place is good for date night or a drink after work. I will return when I can!! I was not disappointed with my experience or food!! They have street parking and valet for $20! -Marshay D.

I like the dark vibe it has going though. The most frustrating part of it all? Servers came off super pretentious and would intentionally walk by your table without looking to avoid you asking them anything. Moreover, the place doesn't let you make many changes to your order. For example, if you ask for easy rice on the sushi, they will say no. If you ask for them to put the avocado on the side due to an allergy of one member of the group, they will say no. Our items came out SUPER slow, and this was after waiting a while for a table. The sushi is subpar - heavy on the rice and not enough fish. However, the coconut shrimp roll was good. That all being said, I'd go back and deal with it all again for the chicken sandwich and the burger. Both were a bit heavy on the bread in comparison to the protein, but delicious nonetheless.

Although Black Sheep Burgers has a vast selection of hamburgers (they probably should have called the place Black Cow Burgers) I had a Chicken Katsu sandwich. It was very good. I liked the option of being able to decide what I wanted or didn't want on my sandwich when ordering. I don't like avocados, so I ordered my sandwich without avocados. There are also a vast number of sides to order if you are very hungry. I was tempted to order the 40's french fries, but the sandwich was enough for me. Professional eaters probably would have ordered several sides. There is a large seating area outside. I sat outside. Other than the traditional problem with eating outside (your napkin, like the answer, may blow in the wind) since Black Shep Burger gave me several napkins, it wasn't a problem.

It's in the sawtelle area near Olympic and predominantly Japanese food spots. Service was friendly but in this economy, not a good value. The burger prices should come with fries. 70$ for 3 people was too steep for what you get

Service was well paced with the first course arriving in a few minutes followed by the main. We didn't have high expectations for the cold tofu and okra but it was delicious and the tofu soaked up the soy based sauce and was balanced by the slight crunchiness of the okra. The waffle fries were exceptional - double fried with a curry aioli sauce. The tonkatsu and ramen were also great. The tonkatsu had a light, crispy batter and the ramen was so delicious, with the addition of corn, peas, black fungus and bamboo shoots, truly comforting. The burger was a hit, too. Juicy and flavorful. The small details here didn't go unnoticed, the unique plates, nice bamboo chopsticks and cute hippo candy plate. We chose to sit in front by the open windows since it was such a nice afternoon but the dining area further inside was welcoming, too. I've also been here outside of DineLA and it's just an overall solid experience.

The katsu was crispy and flaky - so that was a plus. Most of the dishes are kind of pricey in my opinion. A bit expensive at $24-25 total, but portions are large. Service was super nice as well, and I got my food within 15 minutes. Grapow Smash was heavenly, with crispy edges on the patties, yet still tender and juicy inside. Buns were solid and held everything together. Also love how it was so flavorful, with the Thai flavors (i.e. grapow) and fried egg complementing it all. A unique take on the smash burger, and honestly, one of the best smash burgers I've tried so far! Papaya fries was served in a large basket, and while tasty enough, I found it too heavy on the batter. Perhaps papaya isn't as starchy as the potato, but I would just stick to potato-based fries. Glad I got to try it, though! Overall, an excellent smash burger spot worth checking out; I'd happily return to try their other burgers!

GRAPOW SMASH $16 Free range beef, onions, SPICY grapow mix, fried egg, Thai pickle, American cheese, and wild garlic aioli on a potato roll. AND I added an extra patty. What did I think? OMG how are there not more people talking about this burger. This is fusion at its best. It reminds me of the first time I had a Korean BBQ taco. The burger had the perfect lattice crust to it, the Thai herbs and spices worked harmoniously with all the ingredients. The textures were contrasting and welcomed. This burger just melt into your mouth with each bite hugging and coating your tongue with a mixture sandwiched between a soft pillowy potato roll. My only qualm is the egg was a little too runny and popped in my container. I'd be super stoked if they ever did a deep fried Thai egg instead that comes out a little over medium. It's also a little pricier than standard smash burgers, but I think it's all spent on what you see in your burger. One of the best things I've eaten this year. This burger is in my top 5 in LA as of today.
