The team LOVED the cake so much that we ended up placing another order for the same week Their customer service is great and everyone is so kind! When it was time for pickup, I was honestly surprised at how big the place actually is. It's a bakery AND a deli, they do catering, and they even have seating inside! The ambience is very New York feeling It literally made me feel like I was back at home. And they really have EVERYTHING in there! They have iced lattes like cookie butter, pumpkin spice, and so many more flavors. Pies, cookies, cakes, pastries, ALLLL the desserts you can think of. Service was friendly and prompt. It looked like food is served from another window and drinks are ready at the end of the counter. Looking at the display of treats, so many things looked so good! Or better yet, post about it on Yelp! They were moist and not crumbly, the blueberries added an extra pop of juicy flavor and paired so well. It was the perfect snack. The Sticky Bun Lattes were a great warm up for the opposing grey rain sky. Sweet hot caffeine, is there anything better?

J Cakes -- WOW! JUST WOW!…read more We absolutely loved our cake! We had a custom design in mind, and seeing it come to life was such a treat. The attention to detail was incredible. Every little touch was beautifully done, and we found ourselves admiring it from every angle. Jessie, the owner of J Cakes, was wonderful to work with. She was friendly, easygoing, and genuinely interested in getting everything just right. She even reached out to double-check the details, which we really appreciated. And knowing we had a four-hour road trip ahead of us, Jessie made sure the cake was carefully packaged for the journey. It was one of those thoughtful touches that made the whole experience even better. And the cake itself? Every bit as delicious as it was beautiful! We couldn't have been happier with how everything turned out. Thank you, Jessie, for listening to our ideas, paying attention to the little things, and creating something that made us smile. You nailed it!

Despite specifically ordering cream cheese frosting, it appeared to have the same shortening-based frosting used on all the cupcakes. The apple cupcakes were very good, but it was embarrassing to have a guest comment on how dry the cake was. Overall, a very disappointing experience, especially at this price point.

My personal favorite is the cookie sandwich with peanut butter cookies and chocolate ice cream. While it's a little too big to put in my mouth, it's the best. Different from the trucks, which we've visited on previous visits to Boston, the bake shop has some bake treats, such as pound cake, some cake that smelled sweet and had strawberries in it, and others that rotate on, apparently, a consistent basis. And apparently I'm not the only one who thinks this place is the best. We visited at 2-2:30 and people just kept coming! As we were about to leave the line was practically out the door.

Drinks and ice cream are also available, I ordered a Nutty Buddy fattie and it was warm and delicious! I did have 1/2 and saved some for the next day but I think it's best when it's warm (as all cookies are!). I would've loved it if they had more than three flavors to choose from since they also offer cookies by the dozen, and it would be more fun to have a bigger variety in your box, but regardless, what they do have to offer is yummy.
