We came here recently because we were considering leaving Boost Mobile (has changed ownership lately, but not sure which corporation actually owns it). There is a deal for AARP members. We can keep our telephone numbers. We'd just need a transfer PIN ((doesn't expire)) from Boost Mobile. Hubby has an iPhone, I have an android, Samsung galaxy phone, we could get a line for our son (hubby's old iPhone), who is 11 now, and my father-in-law who also wants to switch to get a better deal. It would've been $80 for a month for all four lines (unlimited talk and text). With Boost, for our two lines, on our existing plan, it's $35 unlimited talk and text for both of our phones. So, we'd be saving money. This still would be a viable option for us, if Boost f's up again. Big square shaped space. Clean location. A couple of seating areas. Spread out. One clerk was with a couple of customers at the table behind the front desk. We spoke with the man at the desk, who was very nice, and he answered our questions. Don't waste your money buying from Planet Cellular in the Paris Hotel. They talked us into buying rechargeable cell phone cases, wireless headphones, charging cables and phone holders for our car. Within weeks the phones stopped charging and the headphones only last 15 minutes after a full charge. The gave us a card that said it would cover a lifetime warranty. We have tried calling them but it's just a Google voice number and they never answer or call back. I found an email and they don't respond. I tried getting my credit card company to reverse charges but they claimed that we never made an effort to prove the devices didn't work. Save your money and don't shop anywhere in Paris Hotel. read more

My family and I went in to get two phones fixed: my phone wasn't sending/receiving texts and neither phones had voicemail working. We were assisted by Elan B.. He was very friendly when assisting us and was quick to fix both phone issues. After realizing my phone was still not sending/receiving group texts, we returned for a second visit, and Elan was able to troubleshoot the phone and fix the second issue. Although my phone had a bad SIM card that was exchanged for a new one, we did not have to pay for this. Having gone to Verizon and other tech help stores in the past, this was our best experience ever with tech service! We only wish Consumer Cellular had locations closer to where we live. read more

This is not rating a particular store, it's the company. I want to warn potential buyers of their terrible service, most notably telling a lie by omission in inducing me to buy their service: they said it was unlimited, but what they carefully avoided adding was that, once you hit 50 GB, the service slows WAY down until it reboots after 30 days. That's deceptive, and thus I had 6 days of practically no service. When this happened for a 2nd consecutive month, I arranged to change phone carriers yesterday, August 5th. I needed a number to effect this, and they gave me one, mentioning that my current bill would be due on August 10th, but that I'd receive a final bill instead. They also tried to get me to stay by offering-get this-a THREE DOLLAR DISCOUNT! Don't hurt yourself, CC. They said nothing about settling the August 10th bill now, but I had to call back 3 times because my new carrier kept saying the phones were locked. Finally, I demanded to speak with a supervisor, she was arrogant and unhelpful. She said that the transfer couldn't be completed without the August 10th bill being paid first. When I asked her why none of the 3 employees I spoke with previously mentioned this, she just brushed it off. She also said that the 50 GB limit was because they considered going over that amount was "excessive." What does THAT have to do with the fact that the company concealed important information and that 3 separate employees misinformed me about transferring my service. I had to pay to get rid of them, but, good luck with sending that final bill, and, if there is an organization that oversees cell phone carriers, I'm going to give them an earful. This company is SCUM, and I only gave one star because they didn't offer ZERO. read more

The worst customer service. Just signed up with them only to get a message to call billing service back while the put you on hold for 20 mins. Hung up called a few hours later just to be put on hold again. After 15 minutes I hung up called customer service and cancelled my new service and yet again had to sit on hold for another 25 minutes just to get my deposit back. This is absolutely terrible customer service I guess it's okay if you don't have anything better to do like life. read more

Joe and I had one of the oddest experiences today and just must share. After much research we decided it was time to switch providers and go with Consumer Cellular. Prior to our visit we knew what we wanted and figured it would be a quick in-and-out visit. Upon arrival we were greeted by a knowledgeable and friendly salesperson (name withheld). We picked the phones, asked a few questions, and picked a plan. We engaged in some small chit chat while the salesperson clicked away on the computer. Then, out of the blue, he said we were denied credit and would have to buy the phones outright. We were totally surprised as credit has never been an issue in the past. The salesperson reached out to the (assumed) manager, and she said to run the info a different way. Once again, it came back as denied. Though we could buy the phones outright, we did not want to do that. At that point we decided to leave as it just seemed too perplexing as to what had just transpired. Thinking something was wrong with our credit, as in some sort of credit fraud, we both checked our credit when we got home, and nothing came up and both our scores are 750+. Being the Project Manager/Problem Solver that I am, I called back to the store to let them know and suggested that something went wrong, or something is wonky in their system, and they insisted that there was nothing wrong with their system, and maybe something about our payment habits was the case. They gave me an 800 to call to see if we could find out what was up. We decided to go to our current provider, Verizon, and see what they could offer. When the salesperson pulled up our account, he said "pick any phone you want as you have Preferred Status for being a loyal customer of 11 years and excellent payment history, and AMAZING CREDIT"!!! We picked out the Samsung Galaxy 24 Ultra. They took our current phones and told us to go get something to eat and come back in an hour and they would have everything all set up. We did, came back, and upon arrival they had our new phones ready. The salesperson explained what they did and what to expect from the new phones. So, our experience today at Verizon was nothing short of amazing and outstanding. We are not sure what happened today at Consumer Cellular, but our experience was nothing short of embarrassing and degrading. Respectfully submitted, Eric. read more
