We waited 4 days for service which was understandable on the first hot week of the year. The tech came out, installed a new blower motor, didn't secure it. It's now bouncing around and the AC still doesn't work. He did not stay long enough to watch the AC cycle. Called for them to come back and they bumped it 6 more days. Very poor customer service, not friendly, questionable knowledge. We went elsewhere. read more

Had them come out yesterday to fix an ac that wasn't working they when the tech showed up i explained what was going on the the unit and that i had took picture of the acoil and it was so packed that it wasn't letting air get through it and in turn the head pressure was to high and over heating the fan and kicking it off he said ok and went out side and said that it was low on frig so he filled it then when done with that he came in and the fan was still kicking off and on i asked him again if he had looked at the coil and he said no it was a bad fan cause it wouldn't stay on so he was ordering a new fan he would be back later to put it in i was at work and he texted and said it was in and going i responded back by text if he was going to clean the coil before he left and his reply no hes just fixing the blower when i got home guess what the ac wasn't working and the new fan was kicking in and out just like the old one was due to the coil being plugged the managers said its not there problem that they didn't fix it right the first time that it was going to be 6 days out before they could come back and fix it even though they didn't fix it right the first time i get it was going threw a home warranty but if you cant stand behind your repair then thats bad customer service... read more

Connet was contracted through our home warranty to come out to fix an air conditioning issue we were having. They came out next day very promptly and actually came sooner than expected. (11 instead of scheduled 12-4 timeframe) The technician wore foot coverings every time he came into the house. He got the issue fixed quickly and made future recommendations! Great service! This company was the first I had to inspect my non-working air conditioning unit. To my knowledge, the tech did not use any gauges, thermometers, take pictures, or do anything to actually assess my air conditioning unit. I was left with an estimate of a new air conditioner & yearly contract (and the idea that I may need a new furnace despite it being less than 5 years old). The tech was friendly but I feel he was trying to upsell me rather than to provide the service I actually needed. I felt as though the tech solely wanted a commission and didn't care about the actual issue. The company I got a second opinion from was very thorough and were able to give me an informed response and did use gauges, used their iPad, took pictures and used thermometers to determine the actual cause of the problem. There are many, many HVAC companies in central Iowa and I would not recommend this one. read more

This is a long read...but VERY important concerning our recent experience with Connett Services (a local Heating / AC / Water Heater company). Bottom line - Their inept staff almost killed my family. A few years ago, our water heater was installed by Connett Services and recently stopped working. We called Connett to look at it. The first tech who came out inspected the unit and felt he had figured out the issues. After he left our home the Carbon Monoxide detector started alerting. We immediately called Connett back out. The 2nd tech inspected and ran the water heater, reset the Carbon Monoxide detector, and said he found NO ISSUES with the water heater. 30 minutes later the detector started alerting again, so we called Connett again. The customer service person told us the tech reported there were NO ISSUES with the water heater and told us we needed to replace the batteries in the detector because that was the issue. After some back and forth they finally agreed to send out a tech again, but we also called the City of Waukee gas department to have them test for Carbon Monoxide. The city immediately picked up unsafe levels of Carbon Monoxide when they tested. Upon further inspection, it turns out the unit had a crack in it and was leaking Carbon Monoxide! If we wouldn't have pushed for Connett to come back out (a 3rd time!) and simply did as the customer service person from Connett had said, my family could have died! Not only has Connett clearly lost a potential long-term customer, but I would also hope anyone reading this would reconsider using this company. People are always looking for recommendations for Heating / AC companies. These folks are 100% NOT it! Unfortunately there's much more to this story but fitting it all into this post is challenging. read more

These guys are horrible!! They will tell you on the phone that they know how to fix your problem and get to your place and tell you they have never worked on your type of furnace before. They will then try to learn your system and meanwhile bill you for their education while they learn how your heating system works. They eventually figure it out and bill you for 6 hours to figure it out and charge you 3's what the part actually costs. They refused to give you an itemized bill and when you request one the owner will call you and cuss you out. Five minutes later the owners wife will call you and threaten to place a lien on the property if you don't pay every penny of what they say you owe! This outfit is a total scam and should be shut down!!!! These guys are crooks! read more

My experience Connect Services has been poor. They completed a time and material job and after two tries I was unable to get a clear indication of what the cost of materials were even at a high level. Both the owner and the office staff were unable to provide me a list of the materials. When I tried to return two regulators that were left at my house to complete the job that were later deemed unnecessary, they would not give me credit if I returned. I have crossed them off of my very short list of plumbers that I use and I recommend others to do the same. read more

Connet came out on time, but the installer didn't ask us where we wanted the vents and installed one vent crooked and not flush against the wall so I called and they sent out the expert, he then installed a vent that is crooked as well and didn't take out the one they did in error and patch the area, so I have 3 vents close together and one doesn't work, its just for "show" I guess and we paid over 400 dollars. We had been gone the whole day on Saturday and when we got home our boiler was not working and it was cold outside. Temperature in the house was getting down in the mid 50's. We placed a claim online with our warranty company and they gave me their name for repairs. So I called the number that was given to me. Since this was after normal business hours the company had given another emergency number to call if we needed immediate service. It went directly to voice mail. They never did call so I ended up calling another company. read more

Connett services was super nice when we had them install a new furnace and air conditioning units on 11/15/2017. Now, on 12/05/2018 I called to say our furnace is not working and they said warranty period is over and would have to charge now. What a joke of a place!!!! Do not use them. Connett services was sent through Hsa home warranty to fix my central air conditioning system. I still do not have working air conditioning. I contacted my home warranty company Hsa on 8/26/2020 because my central air was not cooling the house. They sent out Connett seriveses. Connett services technician showed up and said our ac unit needs replaced but they managed to get it working while awaiting approval from Hsa for replacement. They submitted it for approval through Hsa and ordered a new ac unit. The new unit was schedule to be installed on 9/23/2020 in the afternoon. The technician did not call before arrival as he was supposed to and showed up at 8am. That afternoon we turned on the air and waited 3 hrs later the temperature in the house had not dropped at all the next morning it was 63 Degrease outside and 75 inside. On 9/24/2020 we again called Connett and my wife left work early to meet them. They proceeded to check everything out and determined that a relay went bad in the furnace. They replaced the relay and left. Three hrs later still no change in the house the air was still not functioning correctly. On 9/25/2020 we again called Connett and they came out and said everything was functioning correctly and could not find an issue. Three hrs later again no change ac still is not cooling the house at all we then noticed the ac lines are freezing up outside. We again contacted Connett and they were unable to come out till 929/2020. On 9/29/2020 they showed up and i told them the ac lines are freezing over. The technician was in the basement for approximately 30 min and then informed me that he was the first tech that we had out to our home and had made the determination that the ac unit was at fault. He then told me that he was unable to obtain any model number or specs from the old unit as it was badly weathered. He had ordered a 2ton ac model based on his experience and now believed that the old ac must have been a 1.5 ton and the new 2ton requires more air flow than our duct work can handle and said we would need to add 3 additional runs to make it work. He said he would talk with the owner and they would get back with us about installation. When they did contact my wife they told her we would have to $900.00 for the installation of the outlets. Connet was given instructions to have the owner call me after 4Pm on Tuesday or anytime on Wednesday as i am a law enforcement officer and work in the jail and have no access to my cell phone during the day. The owner called me Tuesday at 9am and left a voice mail. I promptly retuned his call after 4Pm when i was off work and was informed he is out of the office the rest of the day and would call in the morning. It is now nearly 3Pm the next day and still no call. I wanted to inform him that i had removed a capped off 6in duct on the plenum and removed a 14in x 14in access panel for the a coil and ran the ac which should allow ample airflow through the system yet the ac still froze with in 3hrs of run time. Filed a Better business bureau complaint due to Connett services inability to fix my issue and the owner had the nerve to lie and say my wife said the freezing problem was part of the original issue. The warranty company sent out another contractor after Connett refused to return due to my B.B.B. complaint. The other company replaced a TXV valve that Connetts tech soldered without a cold wrap and destroyed the internal diaphragm and wow my A.C works great. If you would like to hire a company that will try to rip you off and call a civil servant liar then Connett Services is for you. read more

This company is the biggest rip off I have ever seen took advantage of a disabled veteran and his wife. Charged them over $500.00 for a 14x14 panel to go on the front of their a.c. unit after replacing the coil that was covered under a home warranty. Such a disgrace! read more

Home owners insurance company sent them to fix an A/C unit that wasn't cooling correctly (& we didn't need to use it with cooler weather in May) but now 31+ days later we are having the same problem...wasn't completely fixed & now have to make another claim... don't have our recommendation! read more

If I could leave less than one star, I would. Showed up 1 1/2 hours late for the original service call (past the original 4 hour window of arrival), and the issue was not fixed.The technician made it very obvious that he didn't want to be there so late (5:30 PM) and did hardly any diagnosis of the issue, and left within 15 minutes. When we called them back to come back out to fix the issue AGAIN, they made no effort to get so done in a timely manner, or to expadite, since it was their mistake/issue. We were told to wait 3 days, in 90+ degree heat, when the issue should have been fixed the first time. Beware! read more

Spent THOUSANSDs of dollars to have a new system installed in my home. Everything appeared to be going great, until the installation completed and my house was now colder than it was before the NEW system. I called and attempted to have many conversations figuring out why the new heating system in my house made it colder. Once I was finally able to get through to Connett(they wouldn't return my calls), I was told that my system was set up to save me money and that blowing cold air, IN THE MIDDLE OF WINTER, is "how it's supposed to be". When I expressed my concern over the lack of heat, I was told that it should have all been explained to me prior to purchasing and installation. Guess what? It wasn't. I called them out to take a look at my AC unit that was shutting down. The repairman was nice and that's why I gave 1 star. He found nothing wrong and it cost me around $95. I had to call them back because the same issue I initially contacted them about, remained with intensity. I could not be given a quote about the cost to come back out. In my opinion, it should not have cost me anything. I had to call another company that came out three times. They would not charge me until they figured out the issue which was a new thermometer. I asked Connett to at least return half of the money. I have not received a response. I thought that was fair since the servicemen drove out to my place and stayed less than 10 minutes. read more

Our Air Conditioner unit died at the beginning of the most recent heat spell, and Zach came out the same day to give us a 2nd opinion. Unfortunately, they were not able to revive it (without sinking an ungodly sum into a 23 year old unit), so after showing us all the options and rebates available, he set us up with a new a/c and furnace. They were able to get us in later that week, and the guys installing were very professional and got the job done quickly. read more
