I am house sitting in Colombia California up on Big Hill for a friend and she has Conifer for her internet provider.. it's the worst internet service ever it's slow and keeps getting stuck and the circle goes round and round... I would not use this service in my home. read more

I just had an awful experience trying to work with the Conifer people. I recently received an email offer to upgrade my speed to 20 mps for a nominal price increase. I agreed. We have been long term customers of Conifer and were treated very poorly by receptionist. She wouldn't listen to my issues and said if she ordered a home service they would charge over $100. Not very nice since speeds whet down a lot after signing up for increase. The old owners ran a better company! The new people need to listen and help better, especially when a customer is trying to explain an issue. I unplugged everything, waited and then replugged. Through my uneducated efforts the speed has increased but is not at the level yet that they promoted. Moral: Customer Service means a lot. New owners should go back to the old levels. This is for the "service" in Groveland...Zero communication!! Whenever they have Internet outages (which is often) you have to call, because they don't send any alerts, and when you finally reach someone they tell you "we posted on Facebook" question: How the heck am I supposed to get those messages when I don't have Internet nor have Facebook. Idea: how about you sent a broadcast text message to all of your customers telling them you have a problem. They just don't communicate. The customer service agents and the field workers are awesome, but the lack of communication from the manager needs to be fixed. read more

A very disappointing service provider. We have only been a customer of theirs for about 80 days and on most of those 80 days the signal buffers or drops completely. Currently there is no signal and has been out for more than 24 hours. They do not answer their phone or return emails. It looks like I chose the wrong internet provider. I must say that I've been with this company going on my 3rd year. Yes it's not the same internet speeds we get in the Bay Area for the price but it is reliable. It gets the job done for us when come up on weekends. We stream movies and use it on many electronics in our home. Over the years they have restructured their internet plans so that us customers get better speeds for a better price and I truly appreciate that. First off, all of their employees are fantastic. This review is for internet service only. I am not using anywhere close to maxing out the 15mbps I pay for as my router shows. All in all, internet works 50% of the time I'd say. I have a ring camera, ring alarm, and ring doorbell connected and with that i cannot watch a t.v. show wirhout multiple interruptions. Great customer service but since the March 1st, 2023 storm-Hobron is down all the time and it makes the WiFi unreliable. It's been 6 months and it's still sketchy. I'm thinking of cancelling and hoping for Starlink. It's sad because before the storms, it was great. :-( read more

We are recent subscribers to Conifer Communications and it provides good service. The only problem we have had was very easy to resolve. We had a satellite service prior to Conifer and response to questions and the connection was limited. I do not work from home but we stay in contact with relatives and friends coast to coast. Even with the pandemic at its worst we have been able to check out loved ones. I hope Conifer continues to provide the kind of service I use in my retirement and the service my wife, an artist, requires for her clients. I hope that 2021 is a better year for all citizens of our area. Get vaccinated to prevent covid 19 as soon as it is available to you all. read more

Beware!!! This is the worst service I have seen and I have been paying over $200 per month for their poor service. Conifer Communications is a joke! The service is down more than any provider I have ever used. I am currently on a two day plus outage with no restoration in sight until the workers get off of their long three day weekend. The best IP service in Groveland. Streaming, connectivity and price not available from other local ISP. Line of sight is required. Unlimited data, no overage charges like SNC. This is the mountains so extreme weather and wildfires can cause interruptions, some very short hiccups happen occasionally. 5Mb down and 2Mb up is great for home use. Google voice works and CC offers their own VOIP. Also for always ON connection I recommend Verizon as a backup. read more

Conifer did a great job helping us troubleshoot our slower speeds. Due to a variety of factors, it was difficult to do much. They provided a new router, just in case, free of charge. They even sent the owner to my house personally to work things out. They stated that our local tower would see improvements in the new year, and that came true. Our speeds are now at or even slightly above the cap set by the service level we subscribe for. Their customer service is always willing to talk on the phone and help provide solutions. They're really our only option but they treated us like they had to fight for our business. 5/5 Great company read more

I don't write a review until I have had dealing with a company for a while. Well Conifer is top of the line in my book. I live in a remote location, their installers went out of their way to find a location on my property where they could connect with one of their towers. Since then they have been fantastic if I had any issues. I upload hundreds of high resolution pictures to our cooperate office a couple times a week, they have always got my uploads through, previous company couldn't handle it. The times I have needed to talk with the staff I sensed they truly wanted to help me out, I needed increased upload speed and they supplied it, yes it cost more, but that is the cost of doing business. Our internet signal as well as others in our Lambert Lake area deteriorated badly the last several weeks. We brought it to the attention of Conifer and within a day or two Jason came out to assess the situation. The next work day he sent three teams into the area to replace hardware with the newest available. Got everyone working except for me and my next door neighbor. Came back the next morning with two teams and finished the job. Signal is perfect. We have been with them for many years and they have always been responsive. But remember, they don't know you have a problem unless you call them. read more

I have had Conifer for years. The customer service has been getting better. The internet always has had outages. Not the best for sure. They have been the only internet out here in the country for awhile. Until recently. My neighbors say AT&T now offers stable internet out here. Excellent customer service! Can't say enough good things about Conifer. I've had their service in Moccasin for the last year, reliable and fast. I recently moved to Sonora and called Alex to schedule my move, she set me up and took good care of me. Josh & Jaydn showed up at the end of a long day. They could have rescheduled, they could have used the old mount but they didn't and that's why I'm giving them 5 stars. They took their time and optimized my setup with a complete rewire. Terrible Customer service. I realize many people in rural areas don't have a lot of options. However, if you have ANY OTHER OPTION, use it!! Last month, they suddenly without warning lost service to my house. For THREE WEEKS I was consistently lied to about when my service would be restored. I was repeatedly told that a new dish had been shipped and they would restore my service. They changed the dish arrival date 3 times, it NEVER came. I never got my service back. I paid for multiple web based services, I missed online courses, my baby monitor didn't work, etc. etc. Well they failed to contact me as promised on 4 separate occasions. Even the manager, Jim, flat out lied about calling me back. Jim, the manager said: "I understand if you want to switch to Frontier, I don't blame you." What kind of manager encourages you to switch service?!?!? Good luck with Conifer, I'd avoid them if possible. read more

CC has lack of technology to give you reliable and dependable internet. They advertise as they do however the connection drops continuously, streaming is out of the question. They are fast to service your internet at your home or business but nothing changes. We will discontinue our business with Conifer. read more

Excellent service - the best I've ever received from an ISP. They always pick up the phone, and can change your speed tier on minutes' notice. Only downside is their rural nature and not being able to increase our upload speed, which is more a physics issue than a company issue. 5 stars! read more

Excellent customer service! I called to get a service appointment when I couldn't get my WiFi to turn back on. Jim answered the phone and helped walk me through a few steps before deciding to set up an appointment. A few minutes later Jim called me back and said he noticed my service pop back on. He stayed on the line with me for 45 minutes helping me set up my new router!! He did not have to do this! He went above and beyond and I was/am extremely grateful! We spoke to Conifer at the Home Show in Sonora in April. We told them the exact location of where we were moving to, and they assured us that they would be able to provide internet. Today is our first day in our new home, and they came to install internet. Voila! It's not available. So we've wasted time dealing with this company and now have to start all over again trying to find someone to provide us with internet access. Very unhappy! read more

My internet has been rate limited for the reason of "too many people are streaming for my current plan" even though a maximum of 3 devices go at once. And then there are times where it doesn't even come in at all. When contacting conifer, they claimed that they would look into the situation, that was half a month ago and no response. read more

Conifer is one of very few internet options available in PML. Recently it has been having outages almost every week during business hours, usually because of PG&E issues. Usually, the web site claims the network status is fine but if you call Conifer they admit an issue. Perhaps investing into UPS would help to address the outage issues. read more

I pay for one of their premium plans which costs well over $200 per month. Recently I began to experience extremely slow connection speeds and intermittent service drops. I have contacted them using e-mail and web chat and have left a voice mail on their customer service number because nobody answered the phone. After more than a week I have not received a response to any of these attempts to contact them. I have been with Conifer for almost 4 years. In that 4 years I don't think the internet was down for any length of time other than when the power was out. They have had planned outages and I was informed in advance of these and always preformed when it wasn't necessary to be online. I was not a fan for quite some time as they were never able to pinpoint the problems we were having with our service. They finally offered to come out free of charge and take a look for us. They were here for about 40 minutes and fixed our problems so we are now able to stream movies and be on our laptops at the same time without interference. Would give higher marks except we have been dealing with bad service for so long even after paying the higher price for higher speed. read more
