We found TimberTech when looking for someone to install our new Starlink System. A neighbor behind us had her installed approximately 100 ft up a tree after it was topped off. Had a wonderful experience working with Timbertech on a large property full of dead trees and over crowded trees that we needed cut down and removed. Shawn stayed true to his estimate, arrived when he said he and his crew would be onsite and left without leaving a mess behind! So appreciated . His equipment is so well cared for and looks meticulous so we were comfortable in the quality of work he would provide as our expectations were high. He has this amazing piece of machinery that looks like a small spider and can get into the tightest spaces and then expands to give the faller stability in working at great heights and maneuvering around dead giants. I had a ~140' fir removed that "Y" on the upper third. One side of the "Y" wasn't looking good. They found the core of the stump rotted during removal. I really appreciate the effort that the crew took to protect the driveway and area around the tree. Highly recommend! read more

These guys are the Best. We had a really tall cedar tree that our family cabin was built around. Grandma had Grandpa build deck around it so close to house the roof eave was cut to let tree grow. Sadly the tree had become too dangerous to keep. It was a really difficult tree to take down Sean and crew are seriously skilled and safe. One was definitely an "Oh SH#T tree. I enjoyed watching them do the project and appreciated the dialog between us. I was [once] a carded tree feller/faller for many years ... So I was able to assess their methods and madness from a knowledgeable standpoint. What they do is dangerous work. I was impressed how they worked as a team to discuss procedure and safety. I've seen other local tree services; I like to call "SLASHERS" or "CUT AND RUN", with egos to match; outrageous pricing/project cost, poor adherence to safety and lack professionalism. What I really appreciate and admire in a local service business are honesty, clear communications and subject matter expertise. I can vouch fully for two of these and have a pretty clear read on the third. My family had gotten a Defensible Space inspection notification from CalFire regarding our cabin property in Twain Harte. I contacted Shawn on Labor Day weekend by phone and we stayed in touch with several texts, as we were running late coming up from the Bay Area. Brian actually came by on the holiday to look over our situation. We had a great conversation about the drought, fire issues, trees, maintenance, etc., and in the end, he recommended another service provider to me since our job didn't really require their level of specialization (or "pay grade"). As a small business owner, I know how much time it takes to drive out and look over a possible job. And despite that time investment, Brian wanted to do the right thing to steer me toward someone else who would be a better fit. Total class and integrity. And for the third point, subject matter expertise...based on our conversation (and the fact that he remembered that Ace had done some major tree trimming at our place about 5 years ago, hired by my Dad I'd guess), I have no doubt that they know their stuff. Fabulous service. Had a different service recommended who would never call me back. Saw the good reviews here on yelp and thought I would give them a try. Super responsive, Shawn called me almost immediately and came up within a few days for an estimate and tree was down a couple weeks later (I was in no real rush). It was a tricky tree - giant sugar pine right to the house. But they handled it great and left the site spotless - like someone just plucked the tree out. Fantastic. They sent me a quote different than the one we agreed to, and all I said was "if you want me to sign off on the estimate, please send me the corrected one." They never showed, didn't call until after I called them, and claimed that me asking for a new estimate was the same as telling them I didn't want them to do the job. Then they said "meh, we don't really feel like working your job anyway." I realize everyone has more tree work than they can eat, but there's no reason that you can't still be a decent human being about any business. Going with A-1 instead. read more

I was required to trim various trees and remove 3 to comply with Ca FAIR insurance inspection. I got a bid from a prominent company in the area but the communication seemed to break down when I want to modify the scope of the work and add two limb removals. Really odd because the quote was not trivial in terms of dollars and my additional request was very trivial in terms of additional time. Seems like they just lost interest in being responsive which is kind of shocking. I actually followed up and said I was going with another service and I never even heard back. Like sorry we lost your business, maybe next time or ...... This poor experience compelled me to get another bid and sure glad I did. Shawn came right out, quoted a great price. His team showed up on time, did a professional job and they were very accommodating. I saved quite a bit of money so my advice is to get a few bids and make sure one is with Shawn. I called and left a message and within two hours had a call back and Shawn was out that afternoon to look at the work we needed to have done. Two days later they arrived and started working. We had Shawn and his crew cut down two trees and trim some others on our property. They were very professional, worked in a very safe way and worked together as team to insure the best outcome. The trees we had cut down were directly over the edge of our deck and other critical items. Not one branch so much as touched either one. They knew exactly how to cut things so they would fall in a direction away from the tank and the deck. They cleaned up the area afterwards very well too. It was comforting to have Shawn and his experienced crew from Timber Tech on hand to perform the cutting down of our "historic" sugar pine tree that was part of the deck of our family cabin at Pinecrest Lake, as well as one other very large tree and several small trees that had died due to the extended drought. The entire crew was very professional and skilled, and took great care and concern throughout the process in ensuring the safety of our cabin, the surrounding forest, and passer-by hikers. It was very easy to communicate with them and Shawn and the crew took the time to walk me through the entire process of the tree cutting, and the level of communication between the crew was quite impressive. It was quite a project and even drew the approval of passing hikers and boaters, who gathered to watch the "show."
