Great food, incredible beer selection and the service was fantastic. I was traveling from the East Coast and came in late on a Sunday night and Noemi was a kind, knowledgeable, and most welcoming server. read more

Came for a drink with some friends. Had a good selection of beer on draft. Service was great, no complaints. There's also a nice outdoor seating area -- lots of open air. Parking is easy too since they have a lot right in front. Didn't get any food, but I definitely would the next time I come back. read more

A large group of us stopped here after an event at the Pasadena Convention Center and the place got crowded quickly. Even with the dinner rush, Kyle and Ed from the Congregation team were extremely kind and attentive. They helped us organize and accommodate a large group inside the restaurant so we could all sit together. We really felt welcome there and I just wanted to say thank you to them for their hard work. We had appetizers, entrees, and drinks - I recommend the Smog City Witbier and Brewhouse Pizza. In the end, Kyle was able to split the check which was really helpful and convenient. To sum it up, this place has delicious food/drinks, a wonderful staff, and it's great for large groups. I can't wait to visit again. read more

Yeah bro this is the place. Listen, get that burger, get the carnitas pizza and ask for a side of their bbq sauce it'll change your life you're welcome Listen to me the flavor on this food is amazing and the entire pizza dough is like infused with Parmesan crusted cheese so you get a Parmesan crusted cheese carnitas super pizza And it's amazing Look at me in the eyes as I lean in towards your personal space to tell you to give this place a try From the looks of the reviews I'll never step foot in one of these but they got a door dash customer for life you hear me? read more

Food isn't bad. Trivia night is fun. We enjoy the wait staff. Shout out to Kyle and Miguel.

As others have mentioned, this place was great until the new ownership. I have been comping here since 2013. We'd even bring the kids. It was a go-to on the nice day. Just took the family here recently and was truly sad to see it's current state. Everything we ordered reminded me of airport food. Their food used to be so good. The burgers, pizzas, pretzel, tacos. Everything was great. Now it's unrecognizable. We won't be going back unless we hear that it's undergone a major transformation. Hopefully to it's glory days. Bummer. read more

There was lots of parking and it's family friendly. I just thought there wasn't a lot of beer on tap for an ale house! It's deceptive, there's all these tap handles decorating the place, but the menu isn't that large. I feel like the Lost Abbey in SD is smaller, but has more on tap. The food is just okay, but it has all the pizza and chicken tenders your kids would want. read more

Casual ale house if you're in the mood for beer, food, and chill vibes. We went on a Tuesday night and it seem like they were having some sort of trivia night. The vibe is always chill and family friendly. My friend tried ordering a cider but unfortunately they do not sell any so she opted for the French 75 since she's not a beer drinker. The French 75 was well made and flavors perfectly balanced. I'm usually disappointed at other places when. Ordering chicken sandwiches, but at Congregation, their spicy chicken sandwich had moist and perfectly fried chicken that paired up well with the crispy tater tots. This is a great place to come and enjoy a beer, meet up with friends, or perhaps even a casual date. Always enjoy coming here! Free parking! read more

Visited a bunch of chapters and I enjoy the many specialty high ABV dark quad beers. I also enjoy the fully exposed kitchen separated by glass. Professional and clean chefs there. Great food great service the brunch is good! If I knew the servers name which I forgot I would say he's the best!!

Order at the counter, take the order number stand to your table, and your food will be served once ready. The stone brat was good but had too much breading. The fried chicken sandwich was also good but not spicy. The fries were great, fried perfectly with just the right amount of salt. read more

Fun night! Beers are great, food is great. Karaoke night was a blast! Definelty check this place out. Happy hour all night on Thursdays!

It's been a while since we've been and the establishment had gone downhill. Ambiance was okay but the space needs a remodel. The restaurant was understaffed but the staff did their best to keep up. The food was terrible. I'd like a refund if possible. read more

Wanted in here to charge my iPhone during a early happy hour on Wednesday around 3 PM and Graham and Isiah welcomed me with big smiles I ordered a beer for happy hour, then isaiah was like let me make you a $5 fresh strawberry margarita. Great casual spot to chill with friends! They're also one of the only places in the area open late on weekdays (till 1am). We came on a Monday night which is also their all day happy hour day! I got their rose beer which I loved and we shared a few pitchers. You can only get pitchers for ~3 types of beer. They also have a large assortment of food including flat breads. Skip the chicken strips and go for the nachos! read more

Had some pizza that was very good. And large variety of beer. But we were there around 5.30pm on a Thurs and there was one person working the place: He was the waiter & bar tender. And not the best. Just be sure you're not in a rush of super thirsty. read more

This place was pretty great before when you could open a tab at the bar and get drinks without having to order from the table. My friends and I had a weekly gathering to chat and catch up, but we are looking for a new place to go because they keep stupidly insisting that we have to pay as a table and that isn't working out. We arrive and leave at different times. Service is super slow compared to the old way of just walking up to the counter, plus the food isn't as good as before all the changes. read more

Came here with a large group of friends for a celebration--it was only us and one other party in the place. So disappointed in the new direction. This used to be one of our go-to places for a casual hang with good beers and solid pub food. Now all of the good things about it have been completely changed: - No more IPA beer cheese sauce. When I asked for it (not realizing it had disappeared from the menu) I was brought queso instead - I think it's different pizza crust, which would mean the sandwich bread and pretzel are probably different too but we didn't order those so I can't say for sure m. Their bread used to be unique and delicious though. - Beer selection is minimal. - I think they might have even secretly changed some of the beers because I ordered the wit & wisdom, my usual, but instead of being a medium bodied witbier it looked totally different like a clear lager - Chicken strips used to be good, now they look like they came from a frozen bag at CostCo - Sausage on the pizza was cheap tasting and cut into rounds instead of normal crumbles of real sausage - You no longer order at the bar and then grab your own table, water and napkins. This would be fine if they had more attentive service, but they don't. Such a shame. Sadly we wont be going back unless we hear that things have returned the old ways. read more

Awesome staff, awesome beers, awesome food! Their Passion of the Kölsch & Crimson we're delicious beers, and I would recommend them with a side of their Rapture tots (ask to add asada too). Been going to this place before covid and only recently came back to see all the changes they've undergone. I've got to say I was super impressed not only with the quality of the new food menu but also the service! Kyle is an absolute rockstar, does an amazing job of running the show while also being extremely attentive to guests, haven't had this great of a customer service experience in a long time. You can tell the people who work there truly enjoy what they do, and do their best to create a great ambiance. We got a margarita flight which was amazing, pretzel, several amazing beers, and pizza, all of the food came out pretty quick and was delicious! We also didn't realize it was trivia night when we went but it was a nice surprise and I'll definitely be returning to participate next time! read more

Went a bunch of times as an omnivore but have only been twice as a vegan. The beers could be stepped up a notch, I feel they used to have better tap options. Food is average. Service was terrible. Server took 20 minutes to take our order, then the waiter came out to tell us some of the drinks we ordered weren't available and then two main courses weren't either. After that it was another 30 minutes for food, salads, asada fries and a burger. Once food came out he never came back to refill water or take more drink orders. Then took over an hour to get a bill. Restaurant was empty. read more

Food was good, however, what is described In the menu is not what you get. I order the Philly cheesesteak sandwich. It's supposed to be on a toasted bun. I received a soggy cold bun with cold tater tots. Sent it back and got another but it was still the same. service is not so good. Our server was really nice. The rest of the team was a bit confused or something. It was not that busy either. We ordered appetizers and despite there being 8 of us, the girl only brought us 3 plates. We asked for boxes to take our food home and the girl did everything else but bring them. I finally got up and went to the bar and asked the bartender for boxes, and also asked for the manager to which he had no clue where she was. The clincher was when my grandson went to the hathroom and came back complaining that the floor was covered in urine. He slipped and did the splits! Then, they sent our server to clean the bathroom! This is just disgusting! This place is sadly not a place I wish to return. It was my first and last time! read more

Midday stop for a glass of wine and a pretzel brought us to Congregation Ale House. Parking here is definitely not ideal. The parking lot is shared with several other businesses and they each get maybe 7 spaces per business. There is street parking if you can find any, or possibly in the animal shelters lot after they close, but definitely expect some time spent on looking for parking. We walked in and were told we could sit anywhere, we sat outside at a table and waited... and waited! No service. No menus in sight and maybe 15 people in the entire restaurant. 10 minutes later we went to the bar top. The bartender was helping others, cleaned off two spots for us to sit and we sat. He was friendly, fast with our glasses of wine and a menu. The menu items were your typical pub appetizers and nothing really caught our eye other than a pretzel. I must say, it was great! I'd definitely order one again minus the salt, it was a bit too much for us. Also, we probably wouldn't share one next time as they are a perfect size served with a cheese sauce. The restaurant was clean, great selection of beers on tap, music was a good mix of genres and the restrooms were clean. We enjoyed our few glasses of wine, stayed for about two hours and the prices are reasonable for what you get. We would give this place another try in hopes that service has improved. Enjoy! read more

Food was good, and service was wonderful. Kyle was a delight, as well as Marco. The recommendations were great, and everyone was cordial. Wonderful attitudes, and it real does make a difference. Ordered the asada nachos, which honestly would have been enough, but also ordered the asada pizza on Kyle's recommendation, and it was on point yum. TLDR: This place is a gem and Kyle absolutely made my night enjoyable. Amazing tots, great beer list, good food, even greater staff. So it's Saturday night in Pasadena during Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Finals and we've got a party of 14 - age range of 18 months to 49 years young. We couldn't get reservations and no one would seat our party since we were all coming in different cars from different areas. Totally poor planning on our part, but we were luckily close enough to Congregation and they had the space for us. I had 2 sleeping kids in the back of the minivan and all I needed was a place that would have french fries, something that my food-loving-allergic-to-everything-toddler could eat, and a decent tap list Thank goodness this place has a dedicated parking lot (albeit after 6pm). We walked in, easily found our party already seated and with beers in hand, and they were so very accommodating to the hot-mess-mom dragging in 2 very unhappy looking kids. Don't sleep on the tots. And don't be shy about asking for an opinion. I asked Kyle which trippel was maltier and he gave me his opinion and quickly returned with tasters of the 2 on tap. He also managed to have similar conversations and brought tasters to others in our party seemingly in the same breath. Our beers came quickly, then our food, then magically we had a second round (very different, also with tasters in advance). They also accommodated all the customizations to our food. I'm floored how good the service and our experience was. For the other parents: yes they have high chairs. They have wifi but my kids were too impatient to wait for the password so I just tethered from my phone. There are outlets everywhere. The kids menu is legit and they can and will accommodate for allergies (the vegan mozz is pretty darn tasty here). Don't bring your stroller, leave it in the car. The parking lot is fair game after 6 pm. It's loud and there are TVs on every wall. Just the place a go. I will say that I appreciated the a beer list was not dominated by IPAs. So if youre just after a full IPA set, this is probably not the place for you (although they did have 2 west coast and a couple of hazys on tap). read more

They are bad. Force people to buy entrees during covid. We only had a pretzel and 2 drinks and they were fine. I love that they have parking right by the place. My boyfriend and I were worried about the bar food. Since usually bar places don't have great food but this place surprised us. The food was so good! We got wings and fries with guac and ketchup on the side. It was bomb and the chicken wasn't small. The place looks super cool and dark inside. Felt like a baddie at church drinking beer! But it's a cool place, definitely recommend! P.S. the whiskey is super strong!! read more
