We used to like this Ale House, but did the ownership change? It's not like before anymore, the food, drink, their ordering system even changed. Nachos, wings were the best.

Don't let the petite wait staff full you, the food here is amply sufficient to feed you and then some. I visited in a Thursday evening and the restaurant was not too busy. The indoor and outdoor seating was about a 1/3 full. There are TV's up high for you to watch any game from all angles of the restaurant. The beer selection is plentiful with a wide range of pale ales and craft beers to choose from. My double bacon cheeseburger was HUGE, I could only finish half of it. It was a good tasting burger, great charred meatiness and cooked just right. The fries are good, I asked for extra crispy and they delivered, however, the chef was a little heavy handed on the salt. The ceviche was good and it was also a LARGE serving. It was fresh (no fishy smell) and filled us up. Even though the restaurant wasn't full parking was a little challenging. When it's busy I'd imagine you'd have to park at the metro station and walk across. I would come back simply for the burger!

After a few hrs at the Flea Market we came here and you can't go wrong with a brewery. To be honest at first when we walked in there was only one server attending all the tables and we were a group of 9 so I immediately thought this is going to take a long time. To our surprise our server was Amazing in every way and spoke Spanish as well and was very professional and attended to everyone as they were coming in. He took our order and there were 3 line cooks in the back so we were very impressed with their service and they were so fast to get our food and drinks out. The food was absolutely delicious. We had a order of their wings and their Ceviche with a side of chips & a side order of their sliders that were probably the best I've had they were juicy, flavorful and their fries that it came with were good served with ranch and ketchup. Either brewery's sometimes their food can be a miss but this place had it all and we would def be back when in the area. Bathrooms were small but clean. They had their own parking lot and finding parking wasn't a problem. They had outdoor seating as well if you wish to sit out there it was a nice area to hang with friends.

The Servers we had were very nice and personable. The food recommendations were perfect. It was delicious! The atmosphere was casual and lively. Would definitely recommend.

I threw my hubby a small surprise bday party here during their Wednesday trivia night and we had such a blast! Staff were wonderful and handled our party of 9 very well - vibes were lively and fun and the trivia was awesome! I came away very impressed with how well they took care of our party. I knew I wanted to do a trivia night bc the hubby enjoys trivia - but gosh I had a heck of a time finding one in the area. Congregation is one of the few that do one weekly and take reservations for it. Their reservation system is through Yelp and very easy to use. I was able to modify the size of my group as needed and they were great about communicating and keeping me updated. Could not have gone more smoothly! They have new owners and are changing up their menu...we loved everything we tried. To start, they bring out complimentary chicharrones and salsa verde which is fantastic- as well as samples of ale on tap for everyone wow! Our group tried the pub pretzel, congregation salad with shrimp, fries, bbq chicken pizza, and quesadillas- all lovely. I'm not usually a fan of bbq pizza but theirs is awesome - I loved it! And the Congregation salad with shrimp was so delicious! My fave thing we tried. For my hubby's bday, they gave him a birthday shot AND a plate of bday churros!! Such a nice touch and really made his night haha!! Our server Kyle and manager Ed took great care of us - everyone was so lovely to our party. The trivia is every Wednesday from 7-9pm and is such a blast - highly recommend!! We started off with 9 teams, then down to 7, and finally a tie between one of our teams - the "Sisters B" and another team - and we won the tie breaker!! Woohoo!! The prize with a $25 gift card to the restaurant which they let us apply to our bill. Super fun night and successful surprise party for my better half - tysm to all the staff and all our friends for such a great night!!

Congregation Ale House is under new ownership. Gone are the days when you order at the bar and have your food/beverage delivered to your table. Instead, you check in with the host and will be seated at a table with an attentive server to take care of your dining needs. Once you are seated complimentary Chicarrones with Salsa Verde are provided along with a complimentary shot of a seasonal IPA. I recently came here for a surprise birthday celebration. It also happened to be Trivia Night. We were a party of 9 and were seated on the patio. Our server was Kyle, and he was AMAZING! Super star employee on all levels! He was friendly, personable, attentive, & helpful with menu recommendations. He wanted to make sure we were happy with everything we ordered and said he would fix it if we weren't. He even brought the birthday boy a complimentary Mexican Candy shot. Ed, the manager, was also fantastic - checking in on tables and pitching in when necessary. Our side of the table ordered: Pretzel with Queso, Quesadilla (one regular & one with shrimp), Congregation Salad, BBQ Chicken Pizza, & a side of fries. Cocktails: Raspberry Mojito, Paloma, French 75, Mocktail Mojito, & a Mocktail Ginger Mint Paloma. All the food looked tasty and was nicely presented. The Pretzel was soft, warm, & yummy. The Shrimp Quesadilla was stuffed with medium size shrimp. The Congregation Salad & BBQ Chicken Pizza both received rave reviews. My French 75 was spot on, and the Raspberry Mojito was delicious. For some reason (it's happened more than once), I order the simplest thing on the menu, and it arrives last. (Kinda like Charlie Brown on Halloween - "I got a rock.") In this case it was the fries. LOL! It's all good as long as I have a cocktail. Once I received them, they were hot. The fries were medium thickness with a soft center. They were nomalicious, especially when dipped in ranch. Trivia started around 7 p.m. and we had so much fun. I couldn't stay until the end, but I found out the next day that our team, Sisters B, won the tie breaker and received a $25 gift card toward our meal. Woot woot! That's my girls! *Parking in the lot or nearby street parking *Taco Tuesday: $10 for 2 tacos & 1 Beer.

FYI: This restaurant was just bought out and the menu has changed. The new owners have made some adjustments to make your experience here even better. Last night was my first time here. Our server Kyle was awesome. He took very good care of our table along with Miguel. He took time to inform us about the new service regime. We were here for a birthday party and Trivia night hosted by Greg. Soooo much fun! Inside is an open concept with high ceilings. Very rustic with stain glass windows, wood bar and high top tables. The menu is your typical gastro bar food with some specialty drinks. We ordered a few quesadillas, fries, beer pretzels and a salad. Everything was delicious and a decent size portion. The drinks were also a good size. Yay! *Greg was a great Trivia host 7-9pm Wednesdays We were "The Sisters B," playing against over 8 groups. It came down to the "actrivias" and us. Tie breaking point went to The Sisters B! Woo hoo!!! We won a $25 gift card to the restaurant. We applied it to the bill. *Plenty of free parking in the lot after 6:00 pm *Each person gets a free shot of their home made brew (21 & up ofc) *Great for small and larger parties. *Friendly & Quick service. *Vegetarian options

    Michelada with the Hefeweizen.

+3 for service, drink and food. -2 for the facility lacking AC AND fans inside the hall during a 90+ °F week, it was miserable and my michelada got warm too quickly. TL;DR: Appetizers are good, service is friendly, michelada and beer rec were great, but the overall experience was stale and uncomfortable . Best to avoid grabbing a drink here for the rest of the summer unless you can find a seat outside. Food: 3.5/5 generous servings and tasty. We got asada fries and a quesadilla. Pretzels were sold out. Drinks: 4/5 michelada was great, beer rec based on my preference was perfect. Too bad the drink got warm real quick cause it was sweating balls in that hall. Service: 4/5 staff were friendly and attentive. Facilities: 2/5. Sweating balls.

My boyfriend and I stopped in for a beer after doing some shopping and a walk through the park. We only planned to have one, but we were kindly offered to try a new cider on the menu and were given complimentary chicharrones and salsa. There was a nice outdoor patio, but we opted for indoors. There are plenty of screens to watch sports (or Bachelor). Hope to come by again soon!

What's up: Hanging out with the gang to grab some drinks and food. The last time we were here, we had a bad experience, but this time it was loads better. They recently had a management change so things are a bit different. Now they're Congregation Brewery and Cocina. Parking: There is parking right up front. It can get full pretty fast but there's also street parking and paid parking structures nearby. Environment: Outdoor and indoor dining available. We sat inside and were taken care of by Kyle. He was awesome: friendly, fun, and totally cool! Music was a bit loud so we had to shout to hear each other. A bit of waiting before food/drinks arrived. Restrooms are located to the right of the building and they had several TVs hanging on the walls. We had a weird table that was extra sticky to the point where the menu got stuck to it...oops lol. Their menu might be updated by now, but the one we had had lots of fun grammatical errors :) What was ordered: - Bacon Tots (crispy and good) - Asada Fries (good) - Brussel Sprouts with Chorizo (it was ok) - Brewhouse Pizza (good) - Topa Topa Nitro Milk Stout (creamy) Yay/Nay/Meh: Yay. Definitely a better experience this time around. Kyle was the best and he made sure we had everything that we needed. Food and drinks were good and despite the weird sticky table and funny menu, things were pretty good. Credit cards are accepted.

That said, when I'm in a Pub I tend to go for Guinness or some kind of 1/2 & 1/2, and this time I chose Smithwick's with a Guinness topper. My bartender, Sarah, proffered a perfect poor, with a smile and a laugh, and I was ready for a good time. The menu is packed with traditional pub favorites plus other general sandwiches and salads, etc. I decided on their Reuben, which is built with Corned Beef, Swiss, Sauerkraut, both Russian AND Mustard, and it's served with fresh cut Fries. The sandwich was hearty and generously made, with flavorful corned beef boasting all the best of the pickling spices without too much salt -- the cook knows how to balance flavors. The sauerkraut and melty Swiss provided a rich, acidic contrast to the beef, an effect echoed by the blending of Russian with Brown Mustard. Then there was the bread -- an artisan rye with good flavor, appealing texture and just the right amount of fresh seeds to let you know this bread came from an oven not a bag. Fries were hand cut, as advertised, arriving hot and crispy with just the right dusting of salt -- a perfect match for the Reuben. This being Monday night, it was quiet on Colorado Blvd., and the restaurant had only a few people at dinner time. While this was a laid-back visit, I'm well aware the place can get busy and boisterous when people descend on their back-alley entrance, and it's hard to know which scenario would be better: the high energy pulse or the calm conversation. Best to come in multiple times for a proper scientific analysis (as well as several cold pints and a few very good meals).

I haven't been to Lucky Baldwin's Pub since my old town bar hoping days and was looking forward to a great St. Patrick's Day corned beef and cabbage meal. On the phone and in person the lady taking my order was very nice and helpful. When I asked if the corned beef and cabbage was a hearty portion she said yes, I will be satisfied. But when I received my order I was fully disappointed. Two small pieces of corned beef, bland tasteless cabbage, 1 small potato that was sliced into 4 pieces, and 3 slivers of a carrot. The cabbage was slightly chewy and did not have any flavor. It seemed like they boiled it without any spices. The potatoes and carrots were cooked great but also lacked any flavor. They added some type of white sauce, which I think was a very watered down, tasteless gravy. While the corned beef itself was delicious, the fact that for $20 I got two small pieces was unacceptable. Especially after I was told they have a hearty portion. I really wanted to give this place a good review because of the good memories, welcoming staff and fun ambiance, but to capitalize on a holiday by charging $20 for a small portion, they deserve the one star.

Not sure if the owner has changed because this one has gone downhill and is no longer the busy gem it use to be. We also had breakfast here a few months ago to watch soccer and the food was greasy and over salted but I just thought it was a one off bad experience. Came in during a Dodger & Lakers Friday playoff game and the bar was nearly empty while nearby spots were packed as I stopped at Der Wolf before. Upon arrival the Manager was smoking in their back entrance smoking area - Staff was friendly as usual, but I was served a raw, bloody, mushy burger (photo attached). The bar was dark, so I didn't notice until after I started eating it then I bit into the completely raw cold center and was grossed out (see photo). Easy fix (typically) here is where it gets strange. Manager offered a 50% discount or recook another burger - almost like I felt he was thinking I was chasing a free meal. I wasn't worried about the money and didn't want to wait for another burger after already being grossed out by the undercooked rawness --I said to just microwave it or to make me something quick and simple like a kids burger or a few wings to replace the uneaten 2/3 of my raw burger but I was told that wasn't possible due to "health code" reasons. Wait ....you are smoking out back and serving raw burgers and you can't microwave the remainder of my raw burger and to fix it you are offering me 50% off my burger when 2/3 was raw? The server did their best and I still tipped 25% since it was not his fault, management later comped the check and removed the tip, which unfairly penalized the server. Again I don't care about the money but I was so surprised how much this manager really didn't get it or cared until I mentioned that people get sick from raw burgers and it's a health department violation to serve raw hamburger products. This used to be a gem. Disappointing decline in food quality and management. The crowds have been dwindling. Ownership may have changed but many of the sports crowds have moved to other nearby Pasadena pubs where the food and management are much better.

We ordered two drinks, but the service from the male bartender was inattentive from the start. At one point, my friend tried to get someone's attention to ask for a lime and wasn't acknowledged. She ended up grabbing a lime herself from the garnish tray--which I understand isn't ideal--but the response we got was completely out of line. The male bartender became immediately hostile and started aggressively cursing at my friend. When I calmly asked the female bartender if this was normal behavior, he inserted himself into the conversation and said, "she put her fucking hand in the fucking jar," in a very confrontational tone. I tried to de-escalate the situation and respectfully explained that there was no reason to speak to us that way, but he continued the hostility and ultimately told us to "get the fuck out." At that point, I paid for our drinks and we left. What made this especially disappointing is that this has never been our experience here before. We've always enjoyed this bar and have had positive interactions with the regular staff. If this had been my first visit, I would not come back. I understand that what my friend did wasn't appropriate, but it absolutely did not justify being yelled at and cursed out. I hope management addresses this, because this kind of behavior is not reflective of the bar I've come to know.

Small joint but they have a few bar seats and picnic tables inside and a nice outdoor patio with more seating. They don't offer food but usually have a food truck outside. We ordered a flight of beer to try a few different styles. The guy behind the bar was great and the beers were tasty.

For example, they have a Spanish Language Brewery Meet-up every 3rd Thursday from 7:30-9:30pm monthly. Parking is street only so be mindful of the neighbors. There is no food service at this location but they seem to partner with a couple food trucks serving tacos. Some inside open air seating but the main draw is the relaxing patio. I liked their hard seltzers with fun flavors as jicama, tamarindo and passionfruit. I didn't like so much their signature Yerba Mate Pale Ale, but thought it was an interesting concept. The happy hour special is Monday all day and Tuesday-Friday open until 6pm $2 off full pours. Very family friendly, I always see a couple tables with children and dogs at them. Maybe I'm getting to be an old fuddy duddy but I hate when parents let their kids go free range. Screaming and running around like the establishment is a park these kids becoming trip hazards. There needs to be a revamp of their board game collection. There three boxes of games that looked incomplete or used up, not good with such games as Scrabble and Pictionary. Free Wifi with log-in is a bonus!

The Brewery has a large parking lot however it gets full pretty quickly, if you get lucky you can also find some parking in the neighborhood street adjacent, or there is street parking for 2 hours on the main street. Yesterday was a pretty packed day, the main back patio with umbrellas was packed with people as there was an artist doing doggy portraits on that side. The back patio is disconnected from the brewery so you have to walk back and forth if you want to refill. I would say that side is more in the sun, so even with umbrellas it's a bit hotter on that side. The brewery is pretty cool inside, they have two separate bars to order from, one is the Beer bar, and one is the coffee/tea/ other things bar. I tried their Shibuya rice lager which was ice cold and very refreshing for a hot day. Our group also ordered the Really big pretzel, and Nachos which were pretty delicious. Finally, there is the front patio which faces the main street, and was fully in the shade. It is quite small with about 4 tables, but the sidewalk has quite a bit of foot traffic, and this is where we were able to set up camp with the fosters to mingle and meet with people who wanted to meet the doggies. When a breeze goes by, it is so refreshing and it's pretty nice on that front patio! I love that Wild Parrot Brewing company is dog friendly and the staff is extremely friendly and attentive. Thank you for hosting Pup Culture Rescue! A little shameless plug, my foster is Drew the Shar Pei, he is a bone faced Shar Pei, 42 lbs, very sweet, gentle, and very loving and as of this post he is still looking for a family to call his own!

I went solo but they have tables in tons of sizes so group hangs and dates are good here, too! Personally, I love a good people watching spot and enjoyed hanging out at Stone yesterday afternoon. I grabbed a tall two top in the corner of the outdoor patio and was super relaxed. The staff was great, helping me with recommendations and super quick & generous on the pours. I came in to try a 2016 Imperial Russian Stout I saw they had tapped and ended up trying taster size portions of 6 beers - all very solid. I'm biased to love deep cuts so the 10.6% Imperial Russian Stout was my fav of the day but I also enjoyed the lightness of the Stone Wil Power, a 4.5% fruited kettle sour with mango, tangerine and lychee. They have a ton of indoor seating but also the patio is just so nice & relaxing here. Very chill, quiet vibes and they open at 12pm on weekdays. Perfect atmosphere for work meetings or a liquid lunch meetup. Even the bathroom was cool with colorful grafitti abound. I liked the whole vibe of Stone. It's a cool brewery plopped down in the middle of Pasadena! For non-beer people, a Miller Lite is 4.2% in comparison so why not have a much tastier craft beer in place of that swill! Really enjoyed Stone Brewing in Pasadena and it was a perfect experience. I will absolutely be back!

When did they start selling frozen margaritas?! My wife loved hers! She's not so much a beer drinker, so this was perfect! I opted for the Stone Delicious Double IPA and it didn't disappoint. The "beertenders" were also great and offered recommendations from their vast menu of beers on tap. I also noticed that they still also fill growlers, which is amazing! I'll have to bring mine next time so that I can take some home for the ones that aren't bottled or canned. Parking is readily available underground and it was $1 for us being there almost an hour. Looks like parking is $1 for the first two hours and an additional $2 for each additional hour with a $12 max.
