We stayed in Wailea and were looking for some Dole Whip and this place showed up in our search. It's in a very convenient location with plenty of parking (also a perfect treat after getting some tacos from Coconut's). The staff was very friendly. We stopped in 15 minutes before closing and they were very kind and did not make us feel rushed at all. It's a little shop, so we took it to go, but it was very good. The Dole Whip was great and the cone was awesome. read more

Plus roselani's ice cream Convenient location in strip mall with the Cinnamon Roll place, Coconut's - walking distance from where we stayed along S Kihei Lots of other offerings, including shakes, root beer floats, Dole Whip; some indoor seating, compostable cups and spoons Two cups single scoop ice creams + rainbow sprinkles (extra) + credit card (+3%) + tip ran me over $15, which was a bit of a sticker shock. Might just be the norm for the area. My girls loved their ice cream, though, and it was a welcome reprieve from the hot weather. read more

Best Ice Cream and Shave Ice in Kihei! Owner works his butt off serving every customer himself and the selection is amazing. Clearly posted "No Samples" because there just isn't time as there are always people lined up waiting for a great treat. I appreciate the fact that he tries his best to serve all as quickly as possible. Get the shave ice with macadamia nut ice cream for a true taste of Hawaii! read more

The Ice Cream was excellent BUT The guy running the shop was in a terrible mood and was nowhere near a pleasure to get service from. On top of that, they don't give samples?? What ice cream store doesn't give samples?? When we asked, he responded to us completely annoyed because we didn't see his sign. The best thing about this little shop is the freshly made cones that smell just divine. The worst part is the outrageous prices and the practice of asking for a gratuity while running the customer's credit card. This makes it extremely awkward as the owner knows very well and results in a few extra bucks of revenue but a lost repeat customer. read more

Took my daughter here because I bribed her with ice cream so she would stop complaining about the heat. What a treat it was. Such a cute shop. Great service. TONS of classic flavors and unique flavors. I want to come back and try a shaved ice. I saw the guy making one and it looked amazing. We will be back and I definitely recommend. read more

An A-Ok place. My friend has been coming for ice cream here for decades. Over 100 flavors of ice cream. I had a scoop of Mango and my friend had a double scoop of Kona Coffee on a sugar cone. Both flavors were tasty. We were here in March 2021, still in Covid-19 times. Face masks are required and people keep their distance from each other. This shop keeps all ice cream flavors in the back freezers; no ice cream in the front display freezers. It stops people from gathering to look, and no tasting samples anymore. You order your flavors and the bulk containers are brought out to serve you your desired flavors. read more

I was in on Tuesday or Wednesday this week, and their Dole Whip machine was down. That's fine machines malfunction. As an out-of-towner, I asked if anyone near buy sold Dole Whip, and I was told no. I Google and find a place less than 1.5 miles away. I sensed I was being told a blatant lie. Hawaii is toted as a place of community love and support, but Cones in Kihei did not do that. Ironically, the Maui Sweet Shop showed class and told me that Cones on Kihei had Dole Whip too, and were a little closer to where I was staying. You lose nothing by sharing with your neighbor! read more

They had an extensive amount of flavors for frozen yogurt, with many ice cream flavors. There was only one person working which is no problem for a small line but if you have a long line in front of you it will be a wait. Overall, they had really good flavors and good shaved ice. read more

I have been to this place twice this week in the evening and both times, the line was out the door and only one person was working (seems like he was the owner). He is not welcoming and not friendly. After the 2nd time being there, I realized how he handled the payments (money & credit cards) where he DOESN'T wash his hands or use hand sanitizer before he scoops ice cream for the next customer. When you pay with credit card, he asks if you would like to add tip out loud and makes you feel pressured to give a tip. It seems like he purposely works alone in the evening (when it's busy), so people can feel sorry for him and tip him. I realized the bad reviews this place had when I decided to write a bad review. I left two stars because their ice cream was pretty good. I do not plan to ever go back. read more

If you want to find some of the best ice cream you've ever had look no farther. I've lived in Utah California & Texas and this place beats them all. The Ice cream and all cones are homemade. Not too sugary, they taste like real food and you don't feel "bleh" afterwords like some ice cream places. Some people have complained that he asks if you want a tip while you're checking out and it's really not that big of a deal. I said "I'm alright" and didn't tip, and his demeanor didn't change at all. Friendly small business owner. Don't let the Karen's get you down! read more

Avoid the frozen yogurt and milkshakes. They are made with fake flavoring syrup, no real fruit used. On a positive note, the waffle cone itself was good, I just threw out the yogurt that was inside. Avoid disappointment and go elsewhere. read more

So I actually had a really nice experience from this ice cream parlor! I'm actually disappointed in myself for not getting the servers name because he was great and there are so many negative reviews on the service. We had drove ALL the way to Wailea just to get Lappertt's coconut ice cream because it is the most delicious coconut ice cream I have ever tasted. We got there only to find out that they rotate some of their flavors, including the coconut. Fail. The lady there finally decided to tell us that this place carries their brand, so I called. The server from This parlor answered and he was so friendly! And! They have the coconut ice cream that I wanted. So we got in and it was pretty busy! And there was only the one guy. He was definitely fast! I give him credit! He asked if I was the one who called and we joked and laughed about everything after that. He was seriously nice! And we had spilled something in our car and he wet some paper towels for us to clean it up with! Is it the biggest portion of ice cream? No. Is it the cheapest? No. But Jesus people, It's Maui. What do you really expect. EVERYTHING on the island is pricier than average places. I've got eye rolls for days for all those people complaining about the prices. My ice cream was phenomenal. Can't really say anything about the other flavors. The waffle cone was meh. I think when I go back, I'll just get it in a cup. It wasn't really worth getting. Place was clean, floor wasn't sticky! On our very last night in Maui we were headed to get shaved ice.... we were actually REALLY wanting ice cream......AND we just happened to see Cones on Kihei. It was about 8:00 pm and they close at 8:30 so we were happy as could be. This was by far the best ice cream we had during our time in Maui and we had ice cream nearly every night from places in Lahaina down to Wailea and a few repeats in between. The hubby had his beloved pineapple coconut in a waffle bowl and I had one of the coffee/chocolatey flavors (can't recall the name) in a waffle cone. Tasty, creamy and delicious ice cream. The best tasting waffle cones we had on the island. Great service and the pricing was similar to all of the other ice cream shops we had been to. Highly recommend and we'll definitely be back when we're in Maui again. read more

Wow worst scope of ice cream ever served. So I walked in for a scope of LAPPERT'S ice cream because they have a few extra flavors that my normal place didn't have available. Knowing most places give gigantic scoops I ask for a kids cup. What I received for almost $5 was a thimble sized portion of the goods. Hell it was about 3 bites worth and I'm not kidding. Come on man behind the counter I was embarrassed for you for being so frugal in your scoops. I hope it was worth it Mr Ice Cream hoarder cause I'll never purchase ice cream from you again. read more

It's very rare that I hop on here to leave negative reviews but this one is definitely warranted. Stopped here with my family after having dinner upstairs at Coconuts. There was a line out the door with (1) person working who also happens to be the owner...(okay, small disclosure here, it was 8:15 when we arrived, and their closing time is 8:30. I'm sure the owner didn't expect a line to be out the door, especially when it's only him. I get that can be a bit stressful and frustrating, HOWEVER, the way he treated me tonight was so rude and unnecessary that I felt compelled to let everyone know before they decide to patronize this man and his business. When it was my turn to order, I simply asked for a cup of chocolate ice cream. He informed me they were out, so I then asked my stepson what other flavor he'd like, he pointed to coconut. Me knowing he wouldn't like it and mistook that for Vanilla, I said, "Okay can I just get a small cup of Vanilla instead". The owners response??????????????? "Here in Hawaii, when we say we are out of something that MEANS WE ARE OUT! Do you see the word out on all of these tubs???????" And then proceeded to go down the line of every ice cream he was out of. I was in such shock, I didn't even know how to respond. I had no clue they were out of Vanilla, which is fine as long as he respectfully told me that. I don't even care about the ice cream. I care about the blatant disrespect coming straight out of the owners mouth. I'm sorry sir but isn't it business 101 (ESPECIALLY in the hospitality industry) to provide great customer service to ensure your customers are happy and feel comfortable in your establishment???? He was so RUDE to me, I can't get over it!!! I usually have a lot to say and will absolutely defend myself in situations like this but didn't want to make a scene in front of my family or the line of people behind me. We will never ever choose this place for dessert ever again. read more

The negative reviews made me a little nervous to try the place but they were so off base! The workers were extremely helpful and kind and the ice cream was delicious! The homemade ice cream cookie sandwiches, coconut ice cream, macadamia but ice cream, and caramel crème were all wonderful! The punch card was an extra bonus too! Husband came here twice for dole whip. It was delicious and the waffle cones were great but it is pricey! Three cones each visit ran about $28-$29. We did stop by Safeway after our first visit to grab Haagen-Dazs in generic flavors such as chocolate for the kids which wouldn't break the bank in the long run. read more

We also ordered the Strawberry Italian soda and the Mango Italian soda and for dessert the mint chip gelato. Everything was well made and delicious The service was excellent the cashier was friendly and smiling and very helpful. I like the nice seating area that this place has with the nice deck and covered roof. It is also nice that they have the ceiling fan for those warm days. I have heard the chicken is really good that is what I want to try the next time. Everything was well made. I will be going back to try out more menu items and I would recommend you try them out if you are in the neiborhood.

We got one on a bagel and one on a croissant, they were phenomenal!

While the cinnamon rolls looked amazing, I decided to try the chocolate banana bread, and it was absolutely delicious. It was moist, flavorful, and the perfect sweet treat. Honestly, it may have spoiled me for other banana breads. The shop had a welcoming atmosphere, and everything looked fresh and tempting. If the chocolate banana bread is any indication of the quality of their baked goods, I can see why this place has such a great reputation. I will definitely be back on my next trip to Maui. Five stars!

It tastes exactly what it sounds like. They used to give the mustard spread, but now they charge for it. Either way, we are still coming back because of how fluffy and flakey the croissant is. Basically they cut the croissant in half, filled in the cream and put the top back. Odd. Better between the two. Might be too sweet for some. Prices are higher than other places. I don't think you'll find anything subpar. Seems like good offerings.

I don't know what I'll do if I lose Nick's Maui. But I dither, Nick's Fishmarket Maui is in an incredible location inside the Fairmont Kea Lani and it's setting alone would be enough to pull me back even if the food was just okay. Thankfully the food is MUCH better than "just okay", it is generally outstanding. I rotate starters and salads because there are so many great choices. The Caesar Salad is about as good as they get, but I really, really like the Maui Greek Salad. With at least four people we start with the Seafood Tower, but find it just too big for two of us. Other than that the Kalua Pig Pot Stickers, Charred Octopus, Crab Cakes and Blackened Ahi are the starters I rotate through. For my Main, I am less eclectic. I have a hard time getting away from the Diver Scallops and Scampi. I have tried other dishes, the Abalone, Kona Lobster and Ribeye (I know, I know, who orders steak in a seafood restaurant), but I keep coming back to. For Dessert, I am also in a rut, but I love desserts they set on fire and in this case it is Bananas Foster. I do sneak bites off my DW's Creme Brulee, as does off my BF. The service is terrific, attentive without being intrusive. I used to joke about the Chicago store that if you knocked a spoon off the table someone would catch it before it hit the floor. The Maui service isn't quite that attentive and I am not sure I would want it to be.
