My most recent visit to Condado was on a Monday this past August. I met up with several of my family members to enjoy an evening together. This Condado Tacos location is within South Hills Village mall. You still see it from the road, as it is on the outer part of the mall. It has signage on the exterior, but the main entrance has you going into the mall and entering through there. The patio is accessible from the outside. There is no shortage of parking options here, since it is within the mall. If it is a busy shopping day, the parking might be a little ways away. However, you should be able to find a spot! Since it was so nice out, we opted for seats on the patio. There are plenty of seating options both inside and out. Outside has typical tables and chairs. The inside has those as well, along with bar seating and bar-height tables. We visited on a Monday around 6:00 PM, and it was not terribly busy. We were seated immediately, and got to choose where we wanted to sit. Our waitress was kind, quick, and attentive during our whole visit. The group decided on ordering the Three Buds as an appetizer. This is essentially a dip trio with your choice between several Quesos, Salsas, Guacamoles, and Mexican Street Corn dips. We chose the Corn Salsa, Traditional Guacamole, and Queso Blanco in the Full Size option, since it was shared amongst five people. These came with chips for dipping, of course. Everyone loved the different options of this! I personally appreciated getting to pick between a lot of different dips. This would be a great appetizer to appease a crowd with several differing palates. For my entree, I chose two tacos: the Lucy's Fire and the Braised and Confused. The Lucy's Fire had corn on it, which I really liked. The unique jicama and cabbage slaw on the Braised and Confused was a nice addition. Both were really good overall! I thought they were both a great size that definitely filled me up, especially paired with the dips. I thought the value for the items I ordered was there. Though some of it may seem a little expensive on paper, the portions were fair for the price. I remember this restaurant being somewhat pricey from previous visits, but it was not as bad as I recalled. It had been a few year since my last visit, so my memory might have been a little off there. Though I did not get any, I thought the prices on the burritos and bowls were very reasonable. I suppose it will just depend on what you order if you find the value to be there! Honestly, I was pleasantly surprised with this visit to Condado! As stated, I have been here in the past and really was never super impressed. I enjoyed everything I ate on this visit, along with the great service received. The prices were fair for what I ordered, and I appreciated all of the different options. I would return here for a visit in the future, and would recommend giving it a try if you are looking for some Tex Mex food while in the South Hills Village area! read more

I ordered one of the Baja Shrimp Tacos and a beer and thought that would be enough. After scarfing it down because it tasted so good, I had to order another. The second taco was brought out quickly and I finished it in the same amount of time. Friendly server checked in on us again and I couldn't help myself. I ordered a third Baja Shrimp Taco! I was so full, but it was totally worth it. This is a neat place. Lots of art and interesting decor to look at. First, we were seated at a small table right next to the bathrooms and exit to the outdoor seating. A lot of traffic whizzing by. We weren't asked whether we wanted to sit outside. It was a great weather day after all. In fact, we weren't even spoken to other than "Two?" The guy walked to a table, plopped down menus, and walked away. The menu took some getting used too. It was our first time here. The waitress was of no help. Other than asking if we were ready every 60 seconds. So we ordered off the build your own taco side of the menu hoping for the best. Where do I begin with this place? Being a food delivery driver, this place always has orders which made me so curious about how their food is and if it is worth it. Glancing over their menu one day after a late night of doing some food deliveries, I thought to myself that I will order this tomorrow since I don't really like eating late. With that being said, tomorrow came and I ordered a pack your own bowl with the veggie chorizo + poblano, rice and beans, lots of toppings, smoked cheese, and 2 kinds of sauce which I will tell you that the Habanero BBQ will make you cry and make you sweat. That baby is spicy and definitely would be amazing in some type of spicy noodle dish. If you want a lip smacking spicy sauce, definitely get that on your order. This bowl was so delicious and fulfilling, I am surprised there isn't a wait out the door or a line like Chipotle gets in the evenings. Condado is top tier for quality for their food and it's worth the price. I won't ever return to Chipotle or Moes for a bowl because I just love this place so much. The next day, a family member placed an order and got a bowl and nachos. I got to engage in the nachos and I love how the staff followed the directions for the nachos to a T. I have to give them extra brownie points for making sure the nachos weren't soggy. Soggy chips are disgusting and I don't want it to be a waste. I do feel bad for how many little cups they had to put for each of the toppings that were placed with the nachos. One more thing, get the queso and don't think twice about it. I am so picky about my cheese and this place is top notch with their queso that I wished I ordered some with my bowl. It's not that nasty nacho cheese from a can or even a jar. You can tell that this cheese is finger licking good that you just want to scrap the sides with a spoon. I definitely will be back for their bowls and their nachos when I am in the mood for just that. The proportions are very generous and the service is fast for a pickup depending on the day and time you order. I can't mention anything about sitting inside of this restaurant as I have only done the pickup option but I would say: 1. This place can get pretty busy and it seems like there would be more so of a wait when it is at their busy hours. Friday nights is one of the busiest imo. 2. This is a great location connected to the South Hills Village Mall. I've been here twice and had both great service and great food. I love that you have the ability to customize your experience - build your own dip trio (halves or wholes) and build your own tacos. However, everything is a bit too greasy for me (the homemade chips, the chorizo, etc.). I think I would have to choose between dips or tacos on any future visits! The queso is to die for! We opted for an outdoor table to avoid a wait time, but the indoor decor was pretty rad. The gate on the patio even had a sugar style skull on it, great attention to detail. Our waiter was fantastic in explaining the menu options and choices. We started with chips and queso blanco. The chips are made in house and are really delicious. I ended up ordering the El Santo and Braised + Confused, with a custom order tequila lime steak wrapped in a peezler shell and topped with cilantro onions, queso fresco and Mexican chimichurri sauce. She ordered the plain Jane and Dutch dragon. Also her margarita was well enjoyed and strong (good thing). It's official - the sadness felt from the hibachi place leaving the mall has been replaced with pure joy in the form of ooey, gooey queso and pitchers of margaritas! Condado has quickly become our go-to Mexican spot in the South Hills. Don't discount this restaurant for being located in the mall; If anything, it's a plus, since you can walk around the mall while you're waiting for your table. We have visited a few times since their grand opening, and while there has been a significant wait for a table, the food and drinks are 100% worth it! Their extensive menu truly offers something for everyone, from loaded nachos and tacos overflowing with all the fixings, as well as salads and build-your-own burritos. I can't decide if I like their queso or guacamole better, so do yourself a favor and just get both for the table! The Skinny Margarita is my go-to drink, too, but just like they have food for all tastes, their drink menu is extensive, as well. To start this off, I'd like to say we were seated in a section by the host and then never checked on or acknowledged again. We waited for 20 minutes for all of the other tables around us to be seated and their orders taken and delivered. After 20 minutes we decided to leave and finish our errands. At that point we then made an online order to pickup for 6:30pm, and again waited for about 20 minutes past the order time to get our food - all while being told our food would be right out "we were the next order in the kitchen". We super enjoyed the 3 flight margaritas sampler in blood orange , jalapeño, and prickly pair. Loved them all and it was a perfect size to share. We also liked their choose your own 3 cheese dip combo. Service was SUPERB !!!! Had a great experience here! My friends and I came, upon one of their recommendations, and we had a great little reunion. The absolute, unquestionable highlight was the service. Our waiter was out of this world incredible. I don't know what was up with me but I was being accidentally very difficult, and the waiter was completely unfazed and was unwaveringly patient and helpful. Really cannot speak highly enough of the waiter. The food overall was good but did not live up to the hype. We started with the chips and dip trio and it was amazing. The quesos where so so good. As practically the whole world knows, condado is my favorite restaurant. I consider myself a taco connoisseur as this point. I was excited to try this location. The patio looked nice but was closed. Mine was horrible, the bartender offered to make me a new one, which was nice. The straws they give you have such a strange taste & I think that contributed to the horrible taste. We ordered the 3 dip sampler. Guac was pretty good, chorizo & queso not good at all. The queso had a sweet taste, maybe cinnamon & nutmeg. Tasted not right at all. ** TO-GO COVID REVIEW ** While I was visiting my family in Pittsburgh, we celebrated my sister-in-law's dad's birthday with a to-go taco fiesta. I was super excited to have Condado Tacos again after having a previous experience in Lawrenceville. However, this experience was subpar. Since there were seven of us sharing a meal, the order we placed was pretty large. My older brother placed the order and picked it up, so I cannot speak to that piece of the experience other than to say you NEED to check your order before you leave. When he arrived with the pickup order and we started to divvy up the tacos we had ordered, we found that there were EIGHT tacos missing from our order! I can understand accidentally missing one, but this was a huge oversight on the part of Condado Tacos. When we called to so we could get the rest of our order, the worker told my brother that they were just so busy, that's why the order was inaccurate. No apology. Condado Tacos are definitely on the trendy taco spectrum. Not super authentic. More created for their exoticness. I ordered their monthly special which had Flour soft + hard corn shell and smoked cheddar queso with slow-roasted pulled pork, gochujang bbq sauce, pickled jalapenos, and pineapple salsa. It was REALLY spicy and pretty flavorful. I was most excited for the blue dream, which is Flour tortilla, queso blanco + Kewl Ranch shell with Tex-Mex ground beef, lettuce, tomato + avocado ranch sauce. This taco had pretty good flavor, but because I had to wait for my brother to go to the restaurant twice, the hard shell was very soggy so the overall experience of that taco lacked the satisfying crunch I was hoping for. read more

I love their overall restaurant setup, you pick a few tacos and then they bring it out with your name on it. I can say that you just gotta find the taco you like the best, there will be some you love and some you hate so therefore I give this place a 3. Every time I go, I can't get an entire order where I love them all. There's always one taco I'm not a fan of. My least fave is the Korean BBQ taco. It is far too sweet and the sauce is not Korean BBQ. The guac and quesos options are amazing and DELISH though. I'd go back just for this and a drink! read more
