I have passed this place many times going to Reds games or walking in the banks area and always wanted to give it a try. I stopped in a little after lunch on a Wednesday and it wasn't too busy. Upon walking in you're greeted with colorful artwork on all the walls with lots of natural lighting from the windows. It's a very chill atmosphere and the artwork is very neat. While we decided what tacos we wanted we got a half order of the chorizo queso dip, which was excellent. Enough for two people but it's so good I'd recommend getting a full order. You also have the option to get a 3 different scoops of your choice of queso, guac, and salsa's they offer at only $13. Very affordable. For tacos, you choose from a wide variety of tacos varying in toppings and different styles of shells. Some spicy and some not. I went with the Blue Dream taco, which had ground beef, a hard shell stuffed in a soft shell, with ranch and various toppings. It was rated as hot on the menu but I didn't really taste anything spicy on this taco. It was still very delicious and I would get it again. The Plain Jain taco had chicken, a hard shell, various veggies, cheese, and lettuce. I thought this taco actually had a little kick to it but it was very amazing as well. All the toppings used tasted super fresh and everything was well seasoned and just worked together for an amazing bite. Their tacos are larger than your average street taco, so I'd definitely stick to two tacos if you plan on getting a side of rice and/or beans. The black beans were amazing. Super soft and flavorful. I highly recommend. The rice was very great alongside everything too. Looking forward to stopping in again and trying some of the other options on the menu. I finally tried Condado at the banks and I'm so glad I did!! Usually on the weekends when I pass by it's rather full and there may be a wait, so a Thursday evening visit was perfect! Although there was a crowd, it didn't feel crowded. We had a really nice server, D something, who was really personable and took good care of us. Although there was an issue with the order itself, the manger Dan came by and made things right! Much appreciated! The food itself was good, but it wasn't my favorite tacos ever. I gave it a 4 stars because the wait was 30 minutes o a Wednesday night when we come there for dinner. The block is with rows of restaurants and bars. We put our name on the wait list with the host and wait for their text. While waiting , they have a grab bar where you can get some beer on tap and margaritas on ice, I got house margaritas and double shot for add'l two bucks, total like 8$, now that's a good deal. Finally, got our table outside, I got 2 Korean tacos, yumm. Chips and dips, gau and smoked-cheddar, the dips is so good, just order the half, so you can order different dips to try. Condado Tacos started in Columbus in 2014, and now has a dozen locations spread across Columbus, Pittsburgh, Cleveland, and Cincinnati, with more scheduled to come soon. They specialize in a build your own taco concept where the tacos are customizable in toppings, proteins, and shells. The Cincinnati location occupies the southwest corner of Freedom & Joe Nuxhall Ways, directly across from Great American Ballpark. On nice days the entire walls of windows can be pushed back to really open up the restaurant space. The inside is completed covered in street art style murals, all designed and painted by local artists. My wife and I sat at the bar and were lucky enough to discover it was happy hour, Monday through Friday 4-7, with half-price margaritas and $1 off tacos. On recommendation from the bartender, we started with the El Tres Amigos, a selection of 3 salsa, quesos, and guacamoles ($15). He also let us know that he would give us the salsa verde and salsa roja at no charge with our taco orders. So we went with the traditional guacamole, the diablo queso, and the chorizo queso. The chorizo queso was really good and comes highly recommended. While the make your own taco concept was intriguing, I decided to play it safe and ordered off of their taco suggestion menu. The El Santo ($4) was my favorite I think. It's a sweet Lucy shell, which is a soft flour tortilla wrapped around a hard corn shell with queso and guac, topped with chicken, lettuce, tomatoes, queso fresco, salsa roja, and Condado Secret Sauce. This is a great lunch place especially if you love tacos. However, service is either great or midioucour. Sometimes the servers greet you as a greet and unprofessional. And others greet you as should be but takes forever. The past two times I was there one time was not busy and service was very very slow but good was wonderful The other time, they were super busy, service was horrible and unprofessional and I got my appetizer right away but my server came over 45 minutes later and asked me if I was ready to cash out and I STILL HADNT GOTTEN MY FOOD YET. I downloaded the Condado app and placed a large order for myself and a few of my employees during a weekend night for delivery. We have a brief 30 minute dinner break, so timing was crucial. They source the delivery through Door Dash and my order's original arrival time was before my expected delivery time. Long story short, my food was stolen by delivery drivers. Perhaps twice. When I spoke with the restaurant (5-10 min after my expected delivery) they fired my food again and I went to pick it up. By the time I returned to work, it was 45 minutes after my expected delivery. After complaining to Door Dash they were only willing to provide a refund on delivery fees and tip. The manager at Condado stepped up and reimbursed my complete order. Came in for a margarita and had a traumatic experience. For a Mexican style place, I thought a margarita was a safe choice, I was gravely mistaken. The marg was extra large and demonically sour. My friend had mentioned the Columbus location to me before, so I was pretty excited to hear they were opening a location in Condado. I'm a self proclaimed taco aficianado, and this place did not disappoint. I've lucked out each time I've gone, and despite the place being pretty packed, we never had to wait to be seated. I imagine that on weekend nights this could be a different story, but weeknights and early dinner on Saturday both proved to be decent timing for me. I love utilizing the sushi style menu to order tacos. It's like I challenge myself each time to create an even better taco than the time before! The sweet Lucy taco shell combo (soft and hard shell taco with a queso and guacamole) has quickly become my favorite. Thertion sizes are generous, and I found the tacos to be much more filling than the competition (ie Bakersfield and Nada). Pricing is decent, especially got the amount of food you get, so no complaints there. I'm over the moon about the margarita flights ( I mean seriously, who wouldn't be thrilled about margarita flights?!). I'm all for presentation, and the mini mason jars that the margaritas are served in are adorable. I especially like how customizable the flavors are. My favorite combo has been strawberry banana!! I'm always thrown off a bit at restaurants where the servers and staff aren't easily recognizable by their attire, and this is no exception with the staff all wearing street clothes, though I found the servers to be very attentive and they have all offered great recommendations on my visits.. My friends and I don't venture down to the banks very often, but Condado will be seeing a lot of me in the future, especially since they are open so late to satisfy my late night taco cravings!! Stopped in here for lunch while passing through downtown. They only had a handful of tables open, so we had to place a reservation for 2, then leave. There's plenty of different areas to walk around nearby so we were able to do some sightseeing while waiting on our table. First we ordered the pineapple guac and queso to start. The guac was refreshingly different. It was slightly sweet but not over powerfully so. Queso was white queso and pretty standard. Nothing special here. The chips were thick and almost over fried. Personally I like a crisp thin chip so these didn't do it for me. I love margaritas. LOVE them. You could say I'm a connoisseur. I was delighted to see the flights were made with respado tequila, available on the rocks, and so many unique flavors to choose from. I tried (from L-R in picture) mango, jalapeño, and prickly pear. All were good, and tasted fresh and not of a concentrate. I enjoyed the prickly pear so much I got one to go. The actual drink itself was much stronger than the flight. While the presence of more tequila changes the taste of the drink, I understand why the flights would be made a bit lighter. For my tacos I chose The Mantis and Bad Habit. Both very unique and actually quite good. They were huge. I could only eat half of each after our appetizer! The only negative thing I have to say about them is I wish the steak had been cut into smaller pieces. The taco was so big it was hard to bite through the whole thing and then struggle with taking a bite of the long strip steak. The jack fruit was so tender and flavorful. I had never tried it before and was pleasantly surprised. Awesome experience. Fine Mexican place. I was frustrated how they didn't give out free chips and salsa like the more traditional kind of Mexican places. Another thing is that I hated how they don't offer happy hour on reds home game days. But, the flavor and the selection of tacos was awesome and they tasted really good. Very pricey though, only 1 taco was about $3.85 and that was the cheapest. They also should change the straws. They had paper straws, but they would just get soggy in my mouth. The cleanliness was pretty good, except for the bathroom. The bathroom had toilet paper all over the floor and some pee on the floor and needed cleaned. The building was nice! We had an indoor/outdoor seating area (in photo below) which was nice because we could smell the fresh air but still get air conditioned. It's a cool concept, pick a premade taco or create your own from an extensive list of ingredients. Seriously, they have jackfruit as a base, where have you seen that?? Most choices are under $5 which is pretty economical and the evening we went it wasn't too crowded. I knocked off a star because the chips and salsa (a staple at a Mexican spot IMO) were just okay and despite having lots of options, the margaritas I tried were just so-so (too syrupy). This was my first visit to this restaurant. We were greeted by Dan, the manager and he seated us in the area with large sliding windows that were opened to the outside. It was very nice and the breeze felt good. I relied on my friend to help me chose which taco to get as there were plenty options and I was indecisive. Ally was our server and she got us drinks and menus. We started with chips and half order of queso. It was good chips and queso that I had to pull away from because you could get full off that alone if you're not careful. We both did the build your own taco. Being a Texas resident, we have a lot of options for taco places. So when my Cincinnati friends were excited for tacos, I was skeptical. But this place is top notch! First off, the space is super cool. There are huge, colorful murals on the walls, several TVs to watch sports, big doors to have the indoor/outdoor eating experience. And they accommodated our huge party of 15! Fair warning, the ordering process is slightly overwhelming. There are A LOT of choices, but it can also make it fun and I love to customize my food. I don't remember exactly what I ordered but I will try to recap my 2 tacos: spicy taco shell with shrimp ceviche, jicama and cabbage slaw, and pineapple salsa. Second was sweet lucy shell (flour soft + corn hard + queso + guac), roasted chicken, lettuce, tomatoes, and salsa roja. During COVID-19, Condado has opened up the side garage door windows and have used that area to serve to-meals. They had a few clearly marked lines: one for pickup orders, one for 3rd party app deliveries, etc. After ordering online, it took under 10 minutes to snag my order. The tacos were great, as usual. I ordered a couple custom tacos to with lots of random ingredients and they definitely got everything right. They really seem to have a rhythm down with the to-go business. Great new addition to the banks! The vibe is chill and there is good music playing with a bunch of TV screens to watch sports. The walls are decorated with graffiti art which adds a lot of color and uniqueness to the atmosphere. It's your typical loud, busy restaurant at he banks, but with more flavor than just burgers. I was looking for a better option for Mexican food than Jefferson Social downtown and Bakersfield in OTR with long waits. The wait here during prime dinner time (7:30pm) was only 5-10 min. They also have communal tables similar to Bakersfield. Condado is a build your own taco place that also has preset menu options. They have a pencil and pad ordering style (like Gomez) but is still a sit-down restaurant. I might even say Gomez and Condado are similarly ranked for me in quality, with the style of food being slightly different. You can come to Condado for more tapas style ordering and try a bunch of different options. The price range for the most part is $3-4 in the preset menu. I came here with my parents who are vegetarian and so I stuck to vegetarian options also, to be able to share more. We also tried everything off their suggested menu to see what they had to offer. We each got a Purple Haze Bowl and then 1 of the Mantis, George's Dirty Taco, and the Dutch Dragon. I was surprised how many vegetarian options they had so that was also a plus (even though I'm not vegetarian myself, I have a lot of friends in Cincy that are so this makes it easy for all of us). The purple haze bowl was delicious and unique. A perfect blend of flavors and it's like a mini poke bowl. The mantis was my next favorite. I love spicy food and the habanero sauce is actually spicy and delicious. Sometimes you get habanero sauces that they have tamed down in spice but this definitely had a kick. The Dutch Dragon was my next Fav with all the vegetables and flavors. They worked well together. The George's Dirty Taco is more a basic taco but I love queso blanco and it was a perfect ooey gooey texture withot overdoing the cheese. I imagine it tastes similar to the Ooey Gooey with chicken they have on the menu. The proportions were larger than I actually expected. I think I could get 2 tacos and be full. I'm glad they aren't charging for tiny tacos like Bakersfield where you need to order a bunch to make a meal out of it. Overall, I was happy with all the food and the unique combinations and flavors. The unique part about this taco join is they have an entire extensive drink menu with some great margaritas. I definitely see myself coming back for some pre Reds game drinks and food. I think the tacos were on special, too, but mine was too spicy - will definitely be back and will try a less spicy taco. I'd been to the location in Oakley, so when my lady and I were gonna be on the banks for an Alice Cooper show, we decided to stop by this location for some tacos and margaritas. My lady had never been so she was definitely wanting to go. Were we both impressed? Absolutely! The food was great, the drinks were amazing, and the service was the best. When we got there, the place wasn't too busy, but you could blame the weather for that, because it was a bit nasty out. We were seated right away in a nice spot near the bar. The place itself isn't huge but still comfortable with lots of seating options. Our server, Emma, was very friendly and knowledgeable, answering any questions we had about the menu. We started off with a couple specialty margaritas, a mezcalita for me and a gran classico for my lady, and an order of chips and roja salsa. As for our tacos, I started with a Lucy's Fire along with a side if black beans, and my lady opted for a build-your-own taco. We hardly waited at all when our food came out and everything was tremendously delicious. So much so that we ordered another round of margaritas AND tacos. This time, my lady had the gran classico w/ prickly pear along with another build-your-own taco, and I had another mezcalita and a Bad Habit taco. Again, everything was great! Delicious gourmet tacos, awesome crafted margaritas, and a cool, laid back atmosphere really make this a foodie destination on the banks. Today my fiance and I decided to try Condado for Cinco de Mayo. Due to the stay at home guidelines during coronavirus, they were offering in-house delivery and we opted to go that route. Everything about their in-house delivery was great. Our food arrived slightly later than projected, but considering the circumstances of Cinco de Mayo and the pandemic, I thought they did an excellent job. Sally, the delivery driver from Condado, communicated everything well and was kind enough to call to let me know they were running behind. There was a slight miscommunication with our order because of a new item they added to the menu today (margarita delivery item, again due to the unique circumstances of the stay at home guidelines), but Sally resolved the issue with ease. Our food was well packaged, hot and tasted great. We had a great meal and I was really impressed with the way they handled what I would imagine was an extremely difficult and chaotic day due to being takeout/delivery only on Cinco de Mayo and the high volume of customers (who, based on what I've seen on social media tonight were often rude and impatient).
