Tomato pie with pepperoni and sausage

Thanks to Yelp, I found Conca D'oro as the pizza place closest to where the kids soccer game was being played. The staff was very patient and friendly being there were 6 of us there to eat in. They do a lot of deliveries and have mostly pick up. There are enough tables of 4 to host about 40 people. The folks there were very attentive while we were eating checking to be sure we had everything. I had 2 slices of mushroom pizza which were excellent. Nice thin crust and freshly sauteed mushrooms. My wife had the deep dish slice as well as the Margarita Pizza slice. Kids had spaghetti a-la-vodka. Enough pasta for 3 meals. It came with a salad as well as garlic bread with cheese. Most of that came home. Another kid ordered the calzone with mushrooms. The calzone was huge. Enough for 3 people as well, possibly 4. They also made one of the kids who has a dairy allergy--- pepperoni tomato pie. No cheese. Looks great, thin crust. Very pleased with the food and staff.

    First pie after 3 u-turns

This was our 2nd time ordering from Conca D'oro. The pizza is really good. Love the sauce it has a lot of flavor. The only reason for 3 stars is their delivery service. My first pie, plain with extra cheese shifted while the delivery kid made 3 u-turns on my block trying to find my house. Keep in mind my house number is on the house, garage and mailbox. All the cheese was on the box. My husband called back and they immediately apologized and replaced our messed up pie with a new one. Same kid comes back to deliver it. He takes the pie out of his trunk, closes it, reopened his trunk and put the pie into the hot box which he then brought to the door. Shouldn't have been in there to begin with?? What was the purpose of doing that after we just watched you pull the pie out from your trunk??? I think if we ever do decide to order from them again, I'll go pick it up.

Such a shame this place doesn't have more reviews or pictures up. Would of never known about this place had I not been starving and drove off the parkway to grab something quick. I love how they promote their specials right on their windows as you're walking towards the pizzeria. Great deals here! Their pizza display had a number of unique pizza dishes you don't frequently see. Deep dishes, unique toppings like fried calamari pizza! I went with my go to Margherita slice which was so yummy. It had enough marinara on the slice to my liking and was so flavorful. One of the best I've had in a while. Patrons continued walking in the door as I waited for my slice so the food is constantly moving. Everyone there was so friendly and inviting. Wish I had time to try out more dishes.

a restaurant with a counter and televisions

I was visiting a friend who just moved to Waretown and were aren't familiar with any restaurants in the area. I brought a bottle of wine and searched for an Italian restaurant. I specifically chose this one because the photos on Yelp showed 2 dining areas so it looked like there was enough seating for dinner on a Saturday night. Their website makes no mention that they aren't open for dining in. As I walked in the girl behind the counter asked "Picking up?". I gestured to my bottle of wine and said we'd like to be seated. An older man then said "We closed our dining room, you can sit there.", motioning to 2 tiny tables with 2 metal chairs each. They didn't look like they were at all interested in serving us. So, with no other choice we placed an order to go and had to take it back to my friend's new house (were he doesn't even have furniture yet). We ordered 2 hot subs and calzone. We sat there waiting for it for about 40 minutes. It was busy and they appeared well staffed. The portions were pretty large and the food tasted average. They appeared to be making efforts for pandemic safety but some employees didn't have masks covering their faces, there wasn't any hand sanitizer that I could see, people touching the register/money were then touching food and they had employees personal beverages open right next to prepared food. There is no sign on the door stating masks were required but it is still NJ state law as of right now. I get that Covid has thrown a wrench into things for the restaurant industry but being clear with the services you are actively offering is kind of important for the customer. While the food wasn't terrible, I have no interest in ever going back.

Instead of showing concern for employee safety during hazardous weather, the owner mocked people for questioning the decision to open, called others "soft," and framed financial hardship as a reason employees should come in rather than a reason to protect them. That attitude says everything about how staff are viewed. The post dismissed legitimate safety concerns, minimized weather conditions, and showed zero empathy for employees who may not have safe transportation or the ability to risk icy roads. Leadership isn't about shaming people for caring about workers -- it's about taking responsibility for them. Customers absolutely have the right to decide where their money goes based on a business owner's values. After reading that post, I'm choosing to support businesses that treat their employees with respect and take safety seriously. There are plenty of restaurants that manage to stay open without belittling people or putting profit over people. This is not one of them.

It was our summer "goto" pizzeria. Nothing fancy just a good NJ pie. Consistently good. Over the years, we would go less and less due to all the other options available, especially on the water dock n dine. But every once in a while we go back and it is always on the mark. This past Saturday we decided to celebrate my mom's birthday with a luncheon. When we arrived around noon, we were the only patrons in the dining room. Our server, Peyton warmly greeted us and we took a big round table in the corner. She promptly opened our wine and brought a basket of assorted breads for the table. We order clam casino and ensalata caprese for apps. Dinners were the veal braciola, cavetelli/broccoli, chicken marsala and zuppa di pesce. Cannoli and Tiramisu. Everything was delicious. The braciola and zuppa de pesce were outstanding. Flavorful and nice portions. The Tiramisu was homemade and the best we have ever had. Huge portion. In fact, we split one and took one home. Service was attentive and pace was perfect. Dont know why we dont frequent this place more often. It was a great relaxing afternoon with family. We will get back here more often.
