Nonna and her bello boy
Kay B.

My husband, son, and I took my mom here for dinner this past week to celebrate her birthday. I highly recommend making a reservation as they only had one side of the dining room open with two waitresses on and one buss boy, who was very polite btw. We had a 6pm reservation and the place was packed. Portion sizes were just right, food was hot, sauce was good, and pasta was cooked just right. I would say the only thing that was lacking that night was the service. Granted it was busy but there was a lack of checking in on food, seeing if we needed anything, asking/refilling drinks, asking about dessert, etc. The waitress was younger and those skills will come as she continues to grow! We will definitely be back!

Halibut over spinach

The chicken Marsala only had about 3 tiny pieces of chicken with about 3lbs of mushrooms over less than 1/4 cup of pasta. The dish was not filling due to the overload of mushrooms and small amounts of chicken and pasta. The Halibut was served over a very small portion of spinach, for the price I believe they should have included pasta and or potatoes to this dish. Overall both dishes were not lacking flavor. I really loved this place but will not go back because they started skimping on the portions.

Fly close up

My experience started so well but slowly fell off. The starter soup, salad, and breads were all excellent and held us over for the long wait. The staff was very friendly and the ambiance was good I guess. When the food did come the problems started. The gnocchi was extremely sweet and had overpowering cheese heaped onto it, would not recommend. The spaghetti puttanesca was the best of the pastas I tried. The carbonara wasn't bad but it was heavy creamy which was weird for carbonara. The veal parmesan was the best thing I tried, it had as much crunch as a fried chicken and was epic....then we found a dead fly basically baked into the cheese of it. It happens. The halibut was also good. The tartufo was the best I'd ever had...the tiramisu is standard. It's a wild ride

Pappardelle Porcini

My wife and I dined at this " Little Gem" Biagio's this evening for the first time. We are pleased to say that it will not be the last time we make the 35 minute drive north from Little Egg Harbor to experience some of the other dishes offered by this amazing restaurant. As an appetizer we shared a very healthy portion of fried Calamari with the house marina which was excellent followed by a flavorful Italian Wedding soup. For our mains my wife selected the Homemade Pappardelle Porcini which was excellent and I had the Zappa Di Mare which was one of the best " Zappa Di Mare's" that I have ever eaten. Biagio's is "Excellent quality and quantity" and to top it all off the service is extremely attentive and courteous. Overall the quality that you experience at Biagio's is an easy 4&1/2 to 5 Stars. Do yourself a favor and make a reservation to try this nice place. You will not regret it.

Here is another establishment to consider for dinner....original owner is back at the helm of this restaurant & our first visit since. They have a special of 2 entrees with an appetizer to share for $35.99 dine in. Food is good but nothing spectacular. Nice space for a cozy meal. It is a BYOB so that is a bonus in my book. We shared a stuffed mushroom appetizer, my wife had Tagliatelle Bolognese & I had the Lobster Ravioli. Very nice. Wouldn't make a special trip but if you are in the area don't think you would be disappointed.

What a disappointment. It has a new owner and not as good as it was. The new owner was walking around talking to all customers talking badly about the old owner. This is very unprofessional. The food was also not good. I got the Chicken cordon blue which had no flavor. The restaurant looks the same inside but don't be fooled. Will not come back.

I heard nothing but good things about Biagio's Trattoria on Route 9, Lanoka Harbor, so we made a reservation and gave it try when the family was together. The restaurant resides in a small strip center with it's own parking lot. They are BYOB so bring a nice bottle of wine. This small eatery is not unknown by locals as was evident by the amount of people visiting other tables for a chat. We were quickly seated by a young man and our server introduced herself. Olivia Callmeifyouneedme has a strange last name but did an excellent job of looking after us. We shared a cold antipasto for starters which was good. We all ordered different chicken entrees, as if we don't eat enough chicken, and they were all excellent. The desserts were special as well. I had a plate of four cannolis. I'm glad there were enough to share. I think Biagio's Trattoria is an excellent family restaurant and I highly recommend it.

First time here. Definitely first of many. Can't wait to bring my family here. The bread is dangerously yummy... The environment is small yet so cozy. And I doubt you could order something bad here. It all looked, smelled and tasted amazing! And the staff is really nice and fun! The owner came out, I didn't get to meet him but his Italian accent that I overheard made me tear up a little and made me think of my Grandpa whom I miss dearly. Plus they have specials!? During a time like this..that's truly amazing! Thank you!

Cappelini Esterina Amazing!!! Giant scallops and shrimp so fresh and delicious.

Instead of showing concern for employee safety during hazardous weather, the owner mocked people for questioning the decision to open, called others "soft," and framed financial hardship as a reason employees should come in rather than a reason to protect them. That attitude says everything about how staff are viewed. The post dismissed legitimate safety concerns, minimized weather conditions, and showed zero empathy for employees who may not have safe transportation or the ability to risk icy roads. Leadership isn't about shaming people for caring about workers -- it's about taking responsibility for them. Customers absolutely have the right to decide where their money goes based on a business owner's values. After reading that post, I'm choosing to support businesses that treat their employees with respect and take safety seriously. There are plenty of restaurants that manage to stay open without belittling people or putting profit over people. This is not one of them.

It was our summer "goto" pizzeria. Nothing fancy just a good NJ pie. Consistently good. Over the years, we would go less and less due to all the other options available, especially on the water dock n dine. But every once in a while we go back and it is always on the mark. This past Saturday we decided to celebrate my mom's birthday with a luncheon. When we arrived around noon, we were the only patrons in the dining room. Our server, Peyton warmly greeted us and we took a big round table in the corner. She promptly opened our wine and brought a basket of assorted breads for the table. We order clam casino and ensalata caprese for apps. Dinners were the veal braciola, cavetelli/broccoli, chicken marsala and zuppa di pesce. Cannoli and Tiramisu. Everything was delicious. The braciola and zuppa de pesce were outstanding. Flavorful and nice portions. The Tiramisu was homemade and the best we have ever had. Huge portion. In fact, we split one and took one home. Service was attentive and pace was perfect. Dont know why we dont frequent this place more often. It was a great relaxing afternoon with family. We will get back here more often.
